It should be a very watchable final. Fulham Brentford WBA and Leeds were the obvious standout teams even before a ball was kicked this season. There's no denying its a crazy league but other than the above the rest in this league are distinctly average at best. It's why, unusual for me, I'm optimistic that with a couple of good additions to the first team we should be in the promotion mix at the end of next season. I am a bit baffled that so many on here see next season as a mid table consolidation season. For this to happen, with MON's points per game record, we would have to be competing with a poorer quality squad or the manager not maintaining his high standard....neither seems likely to me.

Wow people have short memories he was utter garbage when he was with us. So bad that fans were giving him pelters on the pitch and couldn't get him out of the door quickly enough. So suddenly MON is going to transform him. The fact that he looks like he is staying is down to the fact that Bristol City probably don't want him and if would be difficult to offload him to anybody else. Bizarrely for us it seems we are not desperate for goals so hopefully the emphasis will be on finding the best left back, and decent wingers who can get close to 10 goals each.

Parker almost did a 'Rowett' by resting his key striker Mitrovic for this game. But unlike Rowett it worked pretty well. But they looked toothless for much of the game against a pretty woeful Cardiff without their star man. A brentford v Fulham final would be a good watch and they are the two stand out teams in the playoffs. Swansea looked ok but I expect Brentford to turn them over. As for Cardiff, as others have said how bang average teams like Cardiff can make the playoffs makes it frustrating that we have been a shambles since being in the Championship and missed a real chance to bounce back quickly. Not sure the league will be any different next season. A couple of stand out teams and at least a dozen woefully average sides of which 4 will make the lottery of the playoffs.

Watford as a club have flown in the face of the argument for continuity of players and giving time to managers. And of course have successfully survived for a few seasons until now. You would expect the club to make a management appointment soon and in time for the new season start. They have some very decent players and given the right managerial appointment I would expect them to be top 6 next season along with Norwich

Lampard is right isn't he Klopp and Liverpool have only won one league title?. Everyone knows football didn't exist before The Premier League was formed and certainly titles won in other countries aren't worth a bean. Premier league best and only league in the world. 🤣

Well the recruitment team surely will have know we needed a left back since Pieters was booted out of the door so we must have been doing significant work to find the right guy at the right price. Little did they know the best on offer in the whole of Europe would be an unwanted free from Sheff Weds. That list of released players seems like our main source of scouting....great process.

The Championship is undeniably an exciting league and the writers comment reflecting that this is how football should be is a good one. It's a pity the champs doesn't get more media coverage, i watched the Quest programme thanks to a link on her and it was much more enjoyable than MOD. Having thought Colin Murray was a bit of a lightweight presenter, he impressed me. It's a pity the BBC are so obsessed with the 'Big 6' Prem clubs, and give the Championship more airtime. I tuned into BBC 5 on weds hoping for a Championship focused programme instead I got an almost meaningless L'pool v Chelsea commentary with updates from the champs...I do waht I often do to radio 5....listen for 5 minutes and turn off, it's a dreadful radio station.

I have been banging on about boardroom changes for 4/5 when our decline set in. The current board have been instrumental in the decline and made same mistakes time and again. The boardroom is a cosy insular Cabal. Peter is now 82!! He can't be praised highly enough for the financial commitment he has made to the club and we need this to continue. But at 82 he will intransigent to radical change, that's what happens the older you get. Then we have a bean counter whose CV hardly impresses and his reputation is living off our success in the Premier League but has overseen our decline. John Coates...well don't even get me started ok he is the big man's son but it doesnt mean he is the radical forward thinker we need to move us forward. When a business fails you simply have to have some new eyes and fresh ideas to radically overhaul the business. The manager shouldn't be burdened with overseeing everything. It just doesn't happen in the top clubs and is an outdated approach in a more complex modern football world. MON is the right man on the pitch that's for sure but needs help in the transfer market and he just isn't going to get the maximum help from how the club is structured. A serious knowledgeable DOF with European credibility needs to be hired to add fresh ideas. Will it happen? Not under Coates senior watch I doubt.

I have no love for Leeds at all and never had they have in the past been very unlikeable as a football club. But it's very much a new era at Elland Road with a top coach stable board and some seemingly knowledgeable and experienced footballing and sporting characters in their management structure. Much similar to Brentford in fact. Mirror those two structures with our own and we are at a totally different end of the spectrum. The only changes to our management team have been constantly hiring and firing the wrong manager and hiring and firing buddies of manager's and board members to oversea scouting and recruitment activity. Also it's no secret that there has been a stream of commercial and contract fuck ups which would have seen most CEO's fired. I don't wish to see the Coates family sell up. It's the biggest asset the club has. But Coates really has to end this Boardroom Cabal and invite individual(s) with extensive football knowledge and experience onto the board. The manager is a rookie in the game of scouting and recruitment. He needs help all he has for help is Scholes John Coates and Andy Cousins....compare that to Leeds and Brentford. Unless we bring in additional knowledge particularly of european football my fear is we will slumber along as a mid-table championship club. One glimmer of hope was in MON's comment about how he was impressed with Brentford structure, maybe he can wake Coates senior up to making changes at the top. It will be tough for the Coates family to invite outsiders in but the club needs fresh ideas and expertise to progress.

I don't bear any particular malice towards him. The bigger question about Stephen Ward is how our transfer team, not for the first time, lurched rapidly from the ultra luxury A* option in James Justin to the bargain basement decrepit option. It was just a classic scfc lazy signing. Two minutes to browse players out of contract list.....shite process

We were definitely the better side and should have won quite comfortably but the same issues as we've had all season happened. Crap players that can't defend. Crap players that can't finish. Some say it's bad luck, I disagree. We know they're crap, we know they can't defend and we know they can't finish. No bad luck about that. As someone else has said if you extend MON's record over a whole season we would be among the highest scorers which s quite remarkable having woeful finishers like McClean and Gregory. Clearly Campbell Powell and Clucas have an eye for goal and I think Vokes although not great is OK. We need another striker and wide men who can finish unlike Ince and McClean. For promotion you need one player touching 20 goals and 3/4 chipping in with double figures we have the latter just not sure we have the 20 goal striker, although Campbell is progressing nicely. The defence I give you is a shambles we need better fullbacks and a regular partnership at CB that's what will improve our goals against record and turn the defeats into draws.

I think they will it's been an intense schedule and there will be a huge prize for Forest. I think the final is Aug 4th so games will continue to come thick and fast. They will need some players to be fresh. Having said that we are more than capable of getting a draw.

How have we ended up with such dross footballers Butland - Biscuits Wrists can fuck off Ward - older than Time Smith - a nothing player Baath - I’ve seen milk turn quicker Chester - wank loan Bruno - wank and slow Cousins - give me fucking strength Thompson - Just what the fuck is he Ince - Fraud of footballer Gregory - wank Vokes - fat slow and pretty shit That lot can go for me tomorrow, deadly serious I would keep Baath and thats it the above epitomises everything wrong with a recruitment strategy that relies on just the manager recruiting with no recourse or sanity check from anyone else in the club. In fairness we dont have anybody.... A Bean Counter who doesn't know anymore about what constitutes a decent player than you average Joe. Coates god love him just wants to back the manager and dont let me start on JC!! Brentford have it right if you listen to the manager they actually have 2 co-directors of football who find the type of player the manager wants and they all do due diligence with the manager having the final say.

It's a disgraceful performance from Hull tbh. How do they respond to such a result? Hopefully positively and they give Luton a decent game. At the moment looking at Barnsley's fixtures and Hull's form both must be down.

After Stoke they have games against Swansea and Preston, so it's a huge game for them, not sure a draw is of much use to them they need points and some goals to improve their GD especially if Cardiff beat Derby. But let's not elevate them to some super team, they are part of a bunch of pretty ordinary teams who are fortunate to be in the shake up. I fancy a draw which will dent the aspirations of a bigger club than SCFC (famous bollox quote from the capped one)

I know we have been fixated on the tense relegation battle. However the fight for 6th spot is just as crazy. Even Blackburn in 12th place are not completely out of it, so thats 7 clubs in contention!! I have no idea who will finish 6th, maybe Cardiff but it could go to the last game. My main conclusion is that this season any average team that reasonably consistent could make the play offs outside of maybe the top 4 the rest are bang average at best. MON's record of just over 1.5 pts per game would give him 70pts for the season probably the same tally that the 6th place will achieve. Will it be the same next season? Quite likely

Jeez this is going to be a stressful watch. It's bourbon for breakfast for me. I just hope we don't go behind in this game, without the famed '12th man' I am not convinced any of these players have the desire to turn it around. A clean sheet and we might just nick a goal
