The major concern for me is that our players think the season is over and Bristol players have illusions of snatching a play-off place by continuing their winning streak.
But Bristol are not particularly good at scoring or defending, they restarted the season after shut down pretty badly with 4 losses, and have just had 2 wins against very poor sides. Their confidence will be boosted but they are still a very average side in all respects.
We have demonstrated we can defend well, but have a problem concentrating for 90 minutes and at least one or two of our defenders will do something rash or go to sleep at some time. Nevertheless we should keep them down to 1 or at most 2 goals.
The question is can we hit them on the break and score a couple ourselves?
I would go with virtually our regular team, leaving out Chester who is incapable of playing 2 games without giving a goal to the opposition. Certainly without Ince, but I am in a quandary over Butland.

Same XI if they’re all fit.
I think we’ll be more expansive than we’ve been in the last few away games as MON knows a win or even a draw guarantees our survival.
They’re not a great team, the game is there to be won...

Pretty much same players and tactics. I doubt if MON will allow them to think it's holidays just yet.

We really could start to relax a bit as fans and look at next season and not being in this same position again.

I'd go with Davies Smith Batth Chester (he'll play anyway) Indi Cousins Clucas Powell Campbell Vokes McClean It absolutely has to be this team that starts the game. Davies has to play the rest of the games to give Michael O'Neil a proper chance of assessing him in games that will be more difficult than the Brum one. OS.

Got to be the same team. Bristol always choke this time of season. I’d be very disappointed if we didn’t get anything.

Before the weekends games it looked like this game would be a bit of a dead rubber for them and a must win for us. As it turns out it’s now a must win for them and a mustn’t lose for us.

After Stoke they have games against Swansea and Preston, so it's a huge game for them, not sure a draw is of much use to them they need points and some goals to improve their GD especially if Cardiff beat Derby. But let's not elevate them to some super team, they are part of a bunch of pretty ordinary teams who are fortunate to be in the shake up. I fancy a draw which will dent the aspirations of a bigger club than SCFC (famous bollox quote from the capped one)

BM A point would pretty much guarantee us but nice to be going into this in a far better frame of mind after the Birmingham game. don't know much about Bristol City at all to be honest apart from Ralph Milne going to Man Utd

Fresh team please. Start with Davies; Diouf, Campbell, Oakey, Thompson, Clucas, Smith, Cousins, Batth, Indi, Ward. Subs: Collins, McLean, Ince, Chester, Shawcross, Debbie (GK)...

I wouldn't be surprised if Chester is rested and Collins brought in. I think O'Neill has more confidence in Chester's experience but has clocked that Chester isn't quite there in terms of match fitness for back to back games. Jacks neck injury hasn't cleared up so I expect (and hope) Davies keep his place in the starting 11.

I wonder if MON is tempted to go back to the 343, with the thinking that Bristol aren't Leeds, especially if Powell is out with his knock on the calf?

Ain’t gonna make any difference as ‘Bristol’ normally field 15. Here’s a link for everyone who seems to have a thing for Bristol. There’s some right big fuckers in their team mind. www.ultimaterugby.com/bristol/squad
