Anyone played JCB Country Club? I've somehow managed to find myself playing in a work charity tournament there. 17th hole looks a piece of piss lol It's invite only I believe. Quite the coup to get the opportunity I'd have thought. I believe so. Seen that the LIV golfers are having a tournament there. Jeez. Better be on my best behaviour.

Gary Numan last night at O2 institute Birmingham. Played his first 2 albums , replicas and pleaure principle. Definitely for the hardened fan base. A mix of synth stuff with some heavy guitar stuff which was very good. Sounded epic though, but the venue, which i had never been to before, was absolutely wank. Standing to the right of the stage meant you couldnt see anything as for some of the set he was towards the rear of the stage playing keyboard. Think my biggest concern was that the place was uncomfortably full, to the point fire exits were opened to let some welcome air in. Definitely felt like a venue where people exceed capacity. Im sure we have better derelict buildings in stoke than that. Anyway to sum up, music excellent, venue abysmal, beers decent. Next up Pink at Spurs Stadium (my ladies xmas present), wish me luck. Me and my lad went too, a must go for the Numan fans especially if you are familiar with his first couple of albums, agree about the venue, I suppose that they were allowing pay on the door didn't help, I wasn't too impressed with him not having any support acts either and only the one encore consisting of 2 songs. He did sound good though. "The The" is next gig I have planned although I might nip over to Cannock Chase to watch Johnny Marr on the 28th June. Gouranga. Cheap(ish) tickets here... www.travelzoo.com/uk/entertainment/midlands/-25-The-Charlatans-Johnny-Marr-live-in-Cannock-Chase-3098884/

Played fine, just far, far too deep. Shades of Rooney towards the end of his career, constantly dropping into midfield. We created fuck all. It was poor. I meant he played fine.

Bag of shite but a win. Foden needs to play inside. Kane looks really unfit. Slow and just rigid. Is he injured? Played fine, just far, far too deep. Shades of Rooney towards the end of his career, constantly dropping into midfield.

7 pairs of pants, Puma golf top and a Toblerone. And I don't mean a medium sized one, I mean a large one. Not a bad haul. I did need some more pants.
First Father's day without my own dad, who passed away in April. Make the most of your time with your parents while they are still here, if you can. They won't be around forever.

So you think Girls Aloud were singing over a pre-recorded backing track? A music concert with no musicians? They sang live, just to backing tracks. I only went because I'd seen they'd had a live band on previous tours, but I suppose I enjoyed it in the end. With no support band, it seemed like cost-cutting, but the stage show was lavish enough. I could be mistaken but I'm sure they played to a live band in Manchester, but they were hidden away.

Dexys at Koko in Camden last night, probably the best gig I've seen this year, brilliant, good mix old hits and new stuff, I rarely dance but I was shaking a mean hoof last night 😄 Saw them in Manchester on their reunion tour. Even that was 20 years ago. Where does the time go to eh? Superb live.

Can see the floodlights from my bedroom window. At least the ground is covered. Rain starts dying off after 7 Ok so what are the lottery numbers as well or do you only deal in weather based predictions visible from your window?? Haha, it's called looking at the weather forecast.

Post by LL Cool Dave on Jun 12, 2024 13:53:56 GMT
I was just wondering if anyone would like to share there experiences regarding adhd and/or autism in general. I'm 54 years old and recently discovered I am neuro-divergent. It was a relief to finally be able to start understanding why I do the things I do. In the past I've been labelled as stupid and lazy by teachers, workplace managers etc, and I've driven myself demented because I've continually tripped over or struggled to answer a blatantly simple question, become so angrily frustrated at my own ineptitude to then do something quite complicated that leaves other people amazed! At some stages in the past I was in a very dark place and contemplated ending it all, not now I hasn't to add. Now, I just want to share and feel like I'm not the only one Thank you for sharing this. Its always very brave to do something like sharing your story to a wider audience on the internet. I'm 49 years old and I had exactly the same experience that you have had. Teachers said I was lazy, bosses said that I was lazy too. It was also having an effect on my relationships because I was also looking to have an endorphin kick which basically means me starting an argument for no reason at all and could not understand why I would start an argument. But last year, after completely fucking up a relationship with the best woman that I have ever met, I went to seek help and very luckily through private health insurance, I managed to get diagnosed with combined ADHD. As soon as it was confirmed that I had ADHD, it was like the biggest weight lifted off my shoulders. Everything made sense of why I had been like I have all my life and now I'm much much calmer person and if I feel like I'm going to lose it or snap at anytime, I now take a few moments to think everything through and everything is fine again after. Don't get me wrong, in a bizarre way, I can live with a lot of shit but it can just take the most minuet of things to actually fuck me head over but I can cope with it much better than I did before. When I told my mates that I had ADHD, they all said that they knew I had it even at school but failed to tell me. I started taking Lions Mane which is amazing stuff to take to help your mind to get focussed and I now have been taking Elvanse for the oast two months. Get yourself some Lions Mane, it really works Having moved from a job which involved a large volume of very short, repetitive and fairly instantly sorted tasks to one with less tasks but more lengthy and in depth tasks with a longer resolution time frame, my concentration levels have gone off a cliff and focusing on the job in hand has become really difficult. Reading this thread and doing some other research, it seems more and more apparent I may have some form of ADHD. I was hyperactive as a kid for a while and I do find it hard to concentrate in long training sessions for example. As an adult my brain does need constant stimulation at times, which has lead into compulsiveness (and impulsiveness) in various forms over the years, which can drive my other half (and me) nuts. Also recognise the picking an argument for no reason you mention. I push peoples buttons just to get a reaction sometimes. I'll give the Lions Mane a go to see if it makes a difference. Cheers.

it grates me so much how some venues/places rip you off on drink If spoons can do lager for £3.50 anything over double that is taking the piss, but it wont change while people pay it Last summer It cost me £5 parking plus £70 for for breakfasts and a drink each at the airport pub (Manchester) followed by £23 for two lagers and a wine in the airport. plus over priced water from the wh smith. This year i aint fucking about £140 for four of us to have 3 hours in the all inclusive lounge. I will get our moneys worth It's not just confined to airports on this side. Flew back from Izmir Airport on Friday, €13.50 for a 50cl bottle of beer. €7.50 for a pack of polo's! And the McDonald's at Dalaman Airport must be the most expensive in the world. Nearly 21 euros for a quarter pounder meal.

Jalen Ngonda at Band on the Wall, rearranged from April (from a Satdee to a Sundee ☹️) I won't see many better gigs this year. Incredible voice and musicianship, funny and charasmatic with it as well.
Slightly spoiled by the lad in front incessantly tilting his head from left to right, causing me to do the same. Keep fucking still, man. Like being stood behind Paul McCartney on full wobble mode. Couldn't really change where I was stood as it was sold out. Minor annoyance though.

Quite possibly the most motorbikes ridden in the UK on the same day? As someone who works in the motorcycle insurance industry, I hope all got home safe and well. Great tribute. 46,000 bikes made the journey they reckoned. Yeah that would do it. Met the hairy bikers once through work. As genuine as they are on screen. A sad loss.
