I guess this was prompted by the Simpsons thread in that I can honestly say I’ve never seen one episode.
So a list to top 5 things you should have done but haven’t
For me
1- Learnt to swim. 2- Watched the Simpsons. 3 - Been to Italy 4 - Never been a member of an adult rugby / footy team. 5 - Never seen a Harry Potter film.
What about everybody else ?

Tried after but never done it. With the others down to laziness.

1 is make a will for sure I've mended bridges with many people and equally made the (correct) decision to cut some toxic people out for good. When retirement eventually comes I'll be adding to the latter list substantially. Always been of mindset that you never have to like people to work effectively with them but 15+ years in there's a shit list of people I'll gladly see the back of.
2- travel as many say, there's places I want to take wife and if poss kids to, Canada most notably but also Germany/Scandinavia
3 - health is a big one BUT since I was shoehorned into us getting a dog last summer I have to say I'm walking distance and frequently and at 54 I'll take the health benefits that brings. Running is no option as one of knees is a bit screwed. I SHOULD swim more but I don't due to work/parenting and other commitments esp as Telford council have committed to "swim for £1" for over 50s which is a great initiative, but when I've looked at fitting a session in at lunch it's inevitably derailed by picking 6th form student daughter up and /or walking the hound.
4- better financial planning ,I'm not bad per se but am reliant on the work pension going forward and all the pipe dreams of "save for kids Uni" etc never happened for so many actually valid reasons , the world has kicked shit out of all of us for last 10+ years so planning for stuff is more than hard. Uni starts for eldest Sept 25 and we'll find a way I'm sure. Anyone that would like to do a Go Fund Me with my name on it, please raise your hands.
4 - I'm working through bands I've never seen ,some ones I don't really even like but I'd like to see Echo and the Bunnymen for instance. And if I've forgotten to mention this elsewhere in EE , I am ticking Miss Taylor Swift off the list this coming Friday.

1. I should have avoided the water melon at a celebration party in the early 70ies. 2. I should have avoided the boring, expensive and unpleasant Edinburgh in the early 90ies 3. I should have avoided chat rooms in the late 90ies. 4. I should have played less Playstation in 2010. 5. I should have listened less to people.

Yeah, I'm a few years out from retirement and I know I need to get the ball rolling. It's become "I'll do it tomorrow" kind of thing. But it's also doing the paperwork for other things like "do not resuscitate" medical stuff, etc. I need to get my butt in gear. Plus a couple more: 6. Clearing the house of accumulated clutter/junk so when I do move or drop dead down the road it's less of a problem for me or others. 7. Losing a parent and relatives over the past few years made me aware I need to get my burial stuff in place -- cemetery, cremation, etc. Leaving these things for loved ones is not a good thing.

I’ve never done a marathon but have signed up for the London Landmarks half marathon for next April. See how i get on with that. I saw it this year and there was a lot walking it.

A lot of charities will do it for a small consideration bequeathed to them, some offer a free service, including the British Legion - www.britishlegion.org.uk/get-involved/ways-to-give/leave-a-gift-in-your-will/free-will-writing

I did the Manchester marathon about 8 or 9 years ago. And I only did it because it has a reputation for being one of the flattest marathons in the world 😆 Was still fucking horrible mind you 😆 truly horrible...

I did consider that route but this involves my soon to be ex Mrs Chuffed and a house in Bedfordshire amongst other stuff (had to sever the joint tenancy first). £180 all in.
