Bryson De Chambeau just clinched the US open, great 4 days, Rory choking at the end bogeying 3 out of last 4 and 2 putting twice from within 3 feet. Take a while to recover from that I imagine.

Yea with his Wealth it's the Glory and Immortality that is important and adding another $2.3M to his $200M is no great shakes, I feel so sorry for him Mind he could get a $1Bn if he signed up for Liv if he wanted to cheer himself up.

Rory McIlroy is magnificently rewarded for his exceptional talent as a golfer but he's also a professional sportsman who will be devastated that he's lost out on a major title that was virtually handed to him on a plate. Unfortunately, he's likely to be remembered at the end of his career as one of the game's biggest underachievers. He was also one of the game's biggest critics of the set up of LIV.

Unfortunately, he's likely to be remembered at the end of his career as one of the game's biggest underachievers. He was also one of the game's biggest critics of the set up of LIV. I definitely agree with your first two paragraphs supported by his action of storming away from Pinehurst without congratulating DeChambeau Mcilroy does have form for U-turns, and not only in his marital arrangements, he freely admitted that he was hung out to dry when PGA agreed to merge with LIV without telling him beforehand. He resigned from the PGA Policy Board and then later said LIV would be good for Golf. He then reapplied to go back on PGA Policy Board to speed up the merger with LIV which had stalled only to be Blackballed by his mate Tiger. Supremely talented Golfers like Mcilroy have by necessity huge egos and he appears to have a certain fragility at crucial times. Jack Nicklaus won 18 Majors but nobody refers to the 19 times he was runner up or consider him an underachiever.

Bit harsh to say he choked imo, the first of those putts really should have dropped, and the second putt wasn't straightforward. Chambo missed virtually every fairway and got away with it. He got more than his fair share of breaks. Overall, it appears the longest hitters had an advantage the others couldn't cope with, this happens too often for my liking.

I imagine the tickets for that are cheap. Does nothing for me personally but a chance to see some top players locally at least.
