No surprises there. We have been far more consistent than most around us. Surely cannot last forever so we need to enjoy it while it lasts.

I think right now he's slightly overrated. Scored a hattrick so everyone is saying he is amazing.
I've always liked Jon and have (usually) always stuck up for him on here when others were slating him. I don't remember so many people heaping praise on him back then though. It's a form thing. Whenever a player hits a good patch, everyone says they are amazing. Whenever a play struggles for form, everyone says they are shite. The truth is somewhere in between.

So he should be allowed to commit numerous drink driving offences yet escape punishment? He should be allowed to endanger the lives of others in a road traffic accident, costing taxpayers thousands and thousands of pounds, yet be able to blame depression and escape Scott free? I simply can't agree with that at all. It's taken 7 pages but you are slowly winning this particular arguement. Where has anyone said he should be allowed off his drink driving offences? I don't claim to know all the facts of this specific case, but it's quite obvious Dave doesn't either. Despite insisting he is referring only to this specific case - about which, as I said, he doesn't have all the facts - many of the points he makes are of a more general nature. Probably why so many people are taking offence. I think most people having read this far will have reached the opposite conclusion to you. It's fairly easy to tell given the amount of negative responses to his posts and the number of people 'liking' those that disagree with him. By any democratic measure, he had already lost the argument by about page 2.

I actually feel slightly uplifted reading this thread. The ignorant are clearly in the minority which definitely looks like progress.

If it's a choice between
1) Signing Aaron Lennon on loan and
2) Bojan coming back from injury a couple of months earlier than we originally thought
I know which one would cheer me up more.

Looks like my love for Bojan will live on. I won't derail the thread any more than I already have, that just really pissed me off because I enjoy being extremely graphic through the medium of internet anonymity very much indeed. Now let's all play soggy biscuit around my Bojan poster. I just worry about his Daddy come on here

Looked amazing when he was 19.

Has anything even been reported? Or is this something from Talksport?? (you do know the sheer volume of b0ll0cks they talk, right?) Have the club said anything? Or any credible reporter (please don't say the Daily Mail)? I'm happy to wait for some actual news rather than some translated report that could've been written by a mental case. #prayforBojan Carlos Puyol on twitter... presumably he wouldn't send him a message unless he knew for sure? As far as I'm concerned there's no point waiting for official confirmation. Nobody has any reason for spinning this or making stuff up. The guy's knee is knackered and he is out for the season. Worst football-related news I have had in years.

Who would you rather have filling in for Bojan?
Adam could play a slightly deeper role or Ireland could play in the hole behind Crouchy

Fat Sham and Pulis will fancy their chances too.
The Shit The Arse Bindippers (if they beat Bolton) Wet Sham The Mighty Potters West Brazil
It will be one of those six. We can definitely take any of those on our patch and with our more positive approach away from home, I think we could go to any of the big grounds and at least get a replay. Chelsea and Man City have spoiled our cup runs in recent years and they are both out the hat now.

My Dad grew up in Stoke, but I grew up darn sarth. My three brothers and I were all forced to support them. They used to joke at work that he was so pissed off with Stoke's back four he decided to produce his own.
Even now when I see another Stoke fan I get excited. I want to go up to them and shake their hand, tell them I know their pain. It was such a novelty to see a Stoke fan where I grew up. Such a novelty, many people simply called me Stoke. On other occasions I got abuse on the basis that 'Southampton are shit' or 'Sunderland are shit' because most people had never heard of Stoke.
Only got to see them once a season when I visited my grandparents. Fortunately we moved nearer a few years back. Was gutted to miss most of the first season in the Prem, but now I never miss a game.
When your childhood as a football fan was epitomized by staring at a Ceefax page which told you Marlon Harewood had just scored four against your team, you make bloody well sure you enjoy the good times when they come.

And when you factor in all the injuries as well, it's even better. Moses is back now, Arnie's form is gradually returning, we have this new German lad who looks decent. No reason we can't beat last season's tally and possibly go back to Wembley as well.
Pretty embarrassing that many on here were whining about relegation a few weeks back.

Just hope his Dad isn't reading this.
Can just imagine the interview a year from now
'So what made you decide to leave Stoke in the end? Did you want a bigger challenge. Playing for FC Mogadishu will certainly be a challenge won't it?'
'I did want a new challenge yes. However, I wanted to find a club where Stoke fans could no longer stalk me, and Europe was just too close. Playing here, despite the risks to myself and my family, means that many Stoke fans will perish on the journey, so I'm actually feeling safer and happier than I have ever felt'.
Please don't drive him away guys

This won't fade now. He is our budding Galatico.
I thought it would take a few months, like it did with Arnie, for Hughes to get him going.
Seems like everything in his personal life is fine, he's happy and quite settled, plenty of confidence for the first time in years. He is still only 23, so anything is possible for him now. I think his early troubles will have made him stronger and more able to cope with pressure in the future.

36 will be fine. We will easily surpass 40 anyway. Just had injuries, a bit of bad luck, and Bojan took a few weeks to get going. Second half of season will be much more consistent.

Wasted out wide, needs to play centrally ahead of Crouch in these mid table games. Crouch offered nothing yet received everything, and his saving grace was a 2 yard tap in. I agree for tactical reasons. Crouch at home, Diouf away. Problem is though Crouch was playing well, and it's hard to drop someone on form.

We don't need panic buys now.
Our main problem has been injuries. If we had a fully fit squad we would be sitting comfortably in the top half now.
Hopefully we will have a bit more luck in the latter half of the season and make the top ten again. Summer is the time for big spending.

Didn't think Diouf did too badly today.
Presumably Assaidi and Arnie are not doing the business in training? Arnie looked better this time when he came on mind.
We will be fine when Moses is back.

I think 'dreadful' is a bit over dramatic.
We were poor in possession and created little going forward. However, we did respond well to conceding early on and we were defensively solid for the most part. After some of our recent problems at the back, I think we improved slightly in that area. Point away from home is not a bad result and one that, on balance, we deserved. Palace may have edged it, but not enough to win the game.
I just hope Bojan's fit for next week.

Not a great game from the big man, but the refs really do him no favours. Referees in general have an agenda against him
