Given that the Bojan's dad thread has been sadly hijacked by Tazi and the anti Tazis, I've decided that my post (now deleted) on that thread deserves its own thread. So here it is. Bojan's dad is a former professional footballer and was a scout for Barca until 2011. He's only 55.
Given that our European scouting system has been neglected for years (in fact it was pretty much non existant until Hughes came along) it strikes me that we could do a lot worse than approach Bojan's dad to see if he would like to scout for us even if it is only on a part time basis. A former professional player living in Spain who still has family in Serbia and with a son successfully adapting to life the the Premier League in England, you'd imagine he could have a lot to offer us. I'd love to think that Hughes and the scouting staff would put their heads together and agree on an initial approach to Bojan's dad whilst he is in the area for Christmas.Discuss. Bojan's dad on wikiPS - Mr Krkic senior - if you get to read this you sound like a good bloke and your son is the best player I have seen at Stoke for 40 years!

Bojan's dad is quickly gaining a godlike status on this board! A status his son has already achieved!

Absolutely nothing wrong with our scouting network, widely renowned worldwide as being amongst the best there is.

Wonder if we can sign him to breed footballers for us too? Best check with his good lady wife about that. She may feel that her baby rearing days are over - and she might not want her husband to be used as some sort of super stud!

LP, When I read Mr Bojan senior's description of Sparky when he was playing for Barcelona, I thought he'd make a good scout.

If giving him a scouting job does nothing more than keep his lad with us for longer (tho' I'm certain it will produce a lot more than that) then it would still be money very well spent.

OK, he's got a long way to go before he achieves consistency but, in terms of all round skill, I haven't seen a better one since Hudson. If you have then fair enough, you are lucky.

Great idea . Doubt he would though. Quite a lot of scouting is done on a pretty casual basis. One of my colleagues was involved in Junior football when I worked in Plymouth. He scouted Devon and Cornwall for Birmingham City just as a sideline.

What about ricardo fuller! I liked Fuller a lot - and I'd love to have him (at his best) leading the line for us now - but he didn't come close to Hudson in terms of consistent skill and influence on games. I suspect Bojan could go on to be better than both of them by a distance.

I agree with what you say about huddy, my all time favourite is jimmy greenhoff, but bojans only had 3 good games for us,you could put fullers goals upalong messi, s obviously nowhere near the amount but the quality was the best youll get at stoke.its great at the moment watching bojan pull the strings but he s a million miles away from the legends above.
