Who would you rather have filling in for Bojan?
Adam could play a slightly deeper role or Ireland could play in the hole behind Crouchy

Adam by a million miles Ireland just goes missing game after game and for 17 games we can afford that .

Ireland for me but it's a bit like settling for a Morris Marina after driving a Bentley whoever we play there

Ireland as he can run.

Adama Traore out wide (wishful thinking!) and Walters dropping deeper behind MBD - a different type of player, of course, but if we have Adama and Moses wide, we could use SJW to bolster the ranks behind them and work his 'nads off, as they may well be less than diligent in tracking back. Arnie may be another option as well, as Adam is too immobile and Ireland too often invisible.
I think Hughes will start with Ireland, although it may depend on if he can pull a rabbit out of a hat this week.

In that advanced role it just has to be Ireland, especially away from home when Adam is often a passenger. At home I accept there's a case to play Adam over Ireland, he just feels like a walking red card every time he's on the pitch these days...

I'd prefer moving Arnie into the middle and starting Walters and Moses on the wings.

Prestwich Agree it's not an ideal choice so for me is go 442 at home like we did v Man Utd Walters behind crouch , Moses and Arnie out wide m
We just need to bully our way to 40 and regroup now .
Unless of course the silver lining is this forces the hand and some real investment comes into play in the next few days .but still think it would mean a change in style as we won't invest in a like for like .
Realistically though the boy won't be right until Xmas at the earliest

In a 4231 then I don't think there's a question to be had. Ireland is comfortable in that formation and Adam isn't.

Adam is not going to make lung busting runs into the box. He can't play the role required.

Ireland. Or a loan from somewhere.

Ireland. We still have a team more than capable of a top half finish without Bojan.

I've no doubt that it will be Ireland.

Ireland, I'd go Shenton before I'd pick Adam for the system we play.

Ireland for the first 65 mins, Adam for the rest. Probably the right call.

Ireland is a similar type of player to Bojan. Hopefully a lengthy spell in the team will get him his Man C form back,

If we sign a winger I'd possibly give Moses a go behind the striker.

Tough one, I thought Ireland did alright when he came on, get's some unfair stick at times. He's definitely an intelligent footballer when on form. I like Adam as well though, both bring goal potential but Adam's tackling scares me shitless.

Either way it's all the same who plays because this site is full of boo boys. If it's Ireland and he doesn't score all the anti Ireland brigade will be out in full force straight away and similar story if it's adam.
Both players seem to have the marmite effect so I'd prefer to see a change in formation or personal from these two no one gives them a fair chance...

Ireland behind Diouf
or
Diouf behind Crouch.
I don't think there's a starting position for Adam in a 4-2-3-1.
