Yes he did, are you blind? He came off injured but has looked fine today Amazingly he's only 19 How good is his brother? His brother is good, but not as good as Jude was at 17. He's currently injured, but before that was regularly getting minutes as a sub for Birmingham, which is still impressive for his age.

That told me. I’ll take that scolding you cheeky young pup Whether Lineker did it with ‘maximum publicity’ or not he still took them into his home, that in itself is laudable, surely? He didn’t have to do that? Equally none of the people taking a stand in support of Lineker have to do it, they’re choosing to do it. Whatever their wage it’s good to see them taking a stand. Agreed! I'm pretty sure Alex Scott isn't loaded. Comfortably off, for sure, but still needs to work and therefore has much more to lose than some of her colleagues.

Christ just thinking about Stephen Ward has reminded me of some of the shite he brought to Stoke. Who on earth was that attacking midfielder from Sheff Utd in his mid 30s? Sam Vokes for £9million. Deary me. £4m on Tommy Smith. Lee Gregory and Scott Hogan upfront. That CB from Spurs that didn't know the name of the stadium. Best of luck to the charlatan. Mark Duffy was the attacking mid from Sheffield United I think?

Just seen a clip of Messi on the news lifting the trophy, why was he wearing a see through negligee? Culture. In 4 years time Harry Kane will have to lift it wearing one of them construction hats that fits two beer cans in, with an M16 assault rifle strapped to him like Rambo. Whilst eating a maple syrup filled burrito.

That's the problem isn't it. Who can we realistically get who would be up to the job? You look at the new manager odds and there's not too many inspiring choices on there. Potter would have been great, but I don't know if he would even want it at this stage in his career. If we went down the non Englishman route I would be more than happy with Rodgers, and I think he's a realistic target. Achievable yes but as at Liverpool he's shown to be a flawed flaky manager He might be a good boost for a year or so as he would definitely attack more but after that, can't see it Would Pochetino take it? That's true. Although if we did replace Southgate with him now, would that boost work at the WC? Probably not but you never know. Excellent question. I'd like to think he would. We have a decent group of young players so I think he'd be able to see how he could turn them into tournament winners. Might be wishful thinking on my part though.

I have to disagree with that mate. I love watching England (men and women) and although I've only been away with England men once (Copenhagen) it's one of my favourite footie memories. Having watched the Women's Euros this summer and seen the difference an England manager who isn't afraid to attack and is brave enough to make changes to turn a game around makes, I don't see how it's possible to keep Southgate any longer. I like the bloke, we just won't actually win anything with him in charge. That's an argument Which attacking manager could we get, right now? Timing is terrible After the World Cup then we can go for someone but have to be a non English man Potter would have been my shout but he's not going to be available in January That's the problem isn't it. 47,367 in attendance for Arsenal vs Spurs yesterday - a new record attendance for the WSL. I'm watching Chelsea v Man City and the stadium (although smaller) looks quite full. The demographic looks (and sounds) like it's shifted a bit too. Definitely more blokes in attendance than pre-Euros times.

Exactly. Don't expect anyone to admit it though. They're not true England fans, deep down they're club over country and are wanting us to fail to justify their assessment that Southgate isn't qualified. They're more bothered about being proven right than actually getting behind the side. You see the players, they absolutely love him. Love playing for England, going to St. George's Park, the rest of it. He has instilled that into the squad. I'm not saying it can't be replicated but history tells us it won't be. Who took over after Alf Ramsey? And Bobby Robson? Were they successful? I genuinely wasn't old enough but I'm pretty sure the answer is 'No'. I have to disagree with that mate. All the All Star games I've watched across the major North American sports have been mediocre at best. They're not played in the spirit of a competitive game so they tend to be tame and boring for me and it's hard to get invested in the result. I can't see this being anything more than a big six dominated money grabbing exercise and I'm sceptical it would attract many fans if the end product does turn out to be rubbish.

My team over here (Forge FC) just kicked off. Minutes applause before the game followed by the playing of God Save the King/Queen rather than the usual O Canada. I'm not a fan of anthems before games usually (other than major finals and internationals) but this was a lovely gesture and allowed thousands of people to pay their respects.

Will all cash/stamps etc all change now then🤷🏼♂️ They changed to plastic notes a few years back here in Canada and they've said they won't be changing them as they are made to last for many years. I'm guessing it's a bit different back home though?

Yeah that's fine as long as there is someone on to rebutt his nonsense. Don't mourn if you don't want to Trev I won't be but really drop the old whitey the oppressor bollocks. The Aristocrisy were just as likely to have had my ancestors in service and treated like shit as they were to trade your ancestors as slaves. You've made a great living in a country that's given you equal opportunity to do so. There is probably more positive discrimination in this country than adverse discrimination. So yeah don't mourn an aristocrat if you don't want, I don't mind personally I think we'd be in a better place if we had fetched their heads of when the French were at it but really racism allowed to thrive give your fucking head a wobble. I get the feeling that a lot of people on this messageboard think the smiley, wavey, Commonwealth games is an accurate reflection of how the people on the ground of the wider commonwealth feel about our Monarchy as a whole including the Queen. It ain't so I'm afraid folks. It's true where I am. There's a genuine sadness and sense of loss, not necessarily for Her Majesty as a Queen, but as a human being. People who are anti the monarchy as an institution can still admire the Queen for her devotion to duty and lifetime of service.

Her 2012 visit to Northern Ireland was even more remarkable. Forgiveness on both sides. View AttachmentI remember my Mum saying....O look she's wearing green. Typical woman eh 😉 Haha it's a fair point though, for some reason most of us seem to notice that stuff far more than the blokes I know. I remember around the time of Brexit when HRH appeared wearing what was basically the flag of the EU in outfit form. That was also a classic 🤣

Her visit to Ireland gained her nothing but respect there. 2010 or 11 can't remember which. Was seen as a bit controversial at the time but thousands turned up and a record for viewing figures. Was a few idiots of course but the people loved her. She actually apologised for those who had died and attempted the language 😁 I remember my Mum in particular being glued to watching her . Her 2012 visit to Northern Ireland was even more remarkable. Forgiveness on both sides.

Yes, I just don’t understand it. Over here, there were some reports that it was Edwards who requested a move back for personal reasons. I feel like Struber confirmed as much as well. What I don’t understand is, after a loan has been confirmed, who pays his contract? Us? Then? No-one (unpaid leave)? It’s a very confusing situation to me. So do we take it he's not in training in either location? That's how I'm reading it. We know he's not training with us and it appears he's not in New York either. Really odd.

That doesn’t really make much sense though. They already had him on loan. How can we recall him because they haven’t purchased him when we only just sent him back? It's all a bit weird isn't it?

Looking forward to a less clown shoe wearing, more sensible manager getting him back involved. We have Clarke there now for a flat back four. We have Wilmot, who can play there as back up (against less good players than Brereton, whose one of the best players in the league). It’s unlikely that we are going to drop Clarke in my opinion, unless he plays really poorly/is out for a long time. You need to keep big clubs happy for loans in the future. So, is he going to come here to be 2nd/3rd choice? What good does that do him? And what good does it do us to pay his wages for that? Edit: does anyone actually know what happened? Has he just gone on unpaid leave for NYRB? Surely a player can’t just cancel their loan contract unless both clubs agree to it? I don’t see why we would. www.onceametro.com/platform/amp/2022/7/30/23285611/tom-edwards-in-limbo-as-stoke-and-red-bulls-negotiate-terms-of-loan-deal

If he’s good at Pokémon Go then he might make a decent scout for us. If he can find Pokémon, he can find a good footballer. Fair point Is Pokémon any good in goal? I feel like Aipom could do a job there.

Literally any advert on an American channel for some kind of medication. "Side effects may include..." followed by a thirty seconds long list featuring anything from sudden death to mild toe pain. I was over in San Diego for work a couple of months ago and I’d watch a bit of TV in the mornings and those medication adverts are enough to induce a medical condition or at the very least hypochondria!!! They all seem to feature celebrities as well It absolutely baffles me what celebrities will endorse. Not long ago there was one for some irritating mobile game starring Jennifer Lopez of all people.
