I must admit when Arsenal had scored and we needed a goal I thought to myself we can't have any chance of scoring if we can't get it to our forwards and we had three on the pitch!
They never got the ball given to them!
No service = no attempts on target!

Cheers franklin I thought it was me as I have been brainwashed for an hour and a half by commentators saying how good an Arsenal challenge was but the same Stoke one was an act of violence!

Am I wrong but it looked like both players did identical efforts to get the ball but it was Shawcross who was booked?

I thought that was Tony Ford in the picture not Tony Kelly !! How the mind plays tricks!! Tony Ford was a very good solid player, if I remember right he played every position bar goalie!! Mark Sale was a really tall blonde haired lad, he didn't give me his top at the brighton relegation game but he was too big to argue with!! ;D

Fans should be able to arrive and leave when they want to! The difference depends on whether you are a supporter or a fan. For a supporter all I can say is that it makes you less of a supporter if you leave early as you are there to support your team but you are no less a fan. As a supporter even when some games are beyond saving you are there "support" your team to the end. As a fan you just turn up to see your team and leave when you want. In the old days at the Vic I have arrived late to matches seen us score 2 goals and nearly gone home thinking we've won only to realise we were 2 down with 10 Min's gone and made a draw!! ;D I had a mate who got in trouble with the misses as he left early with Stoke 2 nill up with 5 Min's to go and went home. Telling his wife we'd won only to discover we had drawn as the opposition had scored twice in that 5 Min's leaving his wife not believing he'd been to the match! I also used to love when they opened the gates in the old boothen end when lads had left early and ran back in after hearing the roar of a goal as if to see the replay! So if you miss any action it's your own fault you only spoil it for yourself! I personally have never left early even when we got hammered by liverpool 9-0 but that was my choice as a supporter! But others should not have a go at people if they leave early as it's none of their business, they can stay to the end if they want to. It's just an excuse for the neanderthal element to justify their violence! The annoying ones are those who don't leave the ground but their seats to gather at the bottom of the aisles blocking peoples view with ten Min's to go.

Fouls?

Was Webb trying to send out an early message after the Shawcross Felaini episode to curb the tussles in the box?

Fouls?

I agree it was a foul, but tuum if you were fouling for 30 yards isn't it brought back to where the fouling began not where it ended when the ref decided to blow his whistle.
It's like when a player gets kicked on the edge of the area and again inside the box but the ref gives a free kick.
I find it hard these days to make sense of the rules as two instances of the same foul can have different outcomes.

Can anyone confirm where a foul is penalised?
If a shirt is being pulled outside the box and continues into the box and the ref blows for a foul, is it a free kick as it started outside the box or a penalty?
It looked like Ryan was pulling Suarez's shirt outside the box and kept hold until Suarez fell inside the box.

Thanks for the kind words Bunny I'll be sure to pass them on to my Dad!
The authorities were a disgrace that day and Peter was a credit to you to all by challenging them and clearing his name.
I remember talking to him about it on the way back from the match and he even had the good grace to laugh if off after even though you saw it had deeply hurt him.
Sorry if I started the waterworks fella but that shows how much he meant to you all, people should never be ashamed to show their emotions its definitely a strength not a weakness.
All our thoughts are with you all!!

Hi Bunny I passed the sad news on to my Dad, he spoke very highly of Peter and sends his deepest sympathies.
I had forgotten your Dad worked on the Michelin too, in the offices I think and then left to do traffic control if I remember right.
Peter would always rib my Dad on the way back from the match for not wearing a coat as he was always in just a shirt rain or shine!
The day Peter was arrested was at QPR he thinks, another of the lads went missing in the ground after he went to the toilets at half time, his wife was going hairless when he never returned not knowing he had been arrested too!!
He will be sadly missed by all who knew him, he was a gentleman!!
Our thoughts are with you and your family, God Bless!!

RIP Peter
Bunny I have got the right Peter, tall fella grey hair Stoke through and through. He was arrested one away match and refused entry after being searched twice to get into the ground after he forgot to buy a program.
They accused him of being drunk and dissorderly which was absurd!!
My Dad went with him to court as a witness and I think it was thrown out as it should have been to begin with.
Anyway if it was the same man he was a lovely fella and always happy to talk all things Stoke. All our condolences!!

As a young stokie I remember Crooks and really like him as a player and was gutted when he left, but one memory that I will aways have was when he scored for West Brom at West Brom. He slid on his knees towards the Stoke fans both fists clenched and from then on I had lost all respect for the bloke. He has never in my eyes since the day he left us looked back with any affection for the club or it's fans!

I have bet against Stoke only the once and it was done with good intentions when we played in the play off final against Brentford.
No I am not a traitor before you say so!
You see my gambling is extremely unlucky when it comes to football. My bets always lose so I knew that Stoke couldn't lose if I bet for a Brentford Win.
Now you know we won the play off final because of my bet!! ;D

Sportsman I am a big fan of Etherington and was not one of the ones who wanted him sold, but at the moment he needs to get his head sorted. It seems like since his injury at wolves he has not been the same I can't remember when he last beat his man with the ease that he did before. I just thought against Man city was not the game to put him on especially near the end as possession is lost and comes straight back at us. He is an excellent crosser of the ball but doesn't seem to get up there to do it at the moment.

Have to agree with admiral I thought Kightly had a good game, I don't know if it's just me but I was a bit worried by Etherington coming on as he is a shadow of his former self and as I feared he was very much the same. He couldn't beat his man and was largely ineffective I hope he regains his form but last year he didn't hit the same form that he did when he first arrived.

I am not a big fan of Pulis and I know I'll get slated but I never thought I would see Stoke City in the top flight again let alone an FA cup final. I've seen some bad matches and yes quite a few under the present man in charge but the days of Alan Ball and Joe Jordan still send shivers down my spine. Even the replacements touted on here have failed in the Prem so he must be doing something right.

Matty certainly doesn't seem the same player since the FA cup semi final. He seems to back out of challenges and doesn't take on players as much. A bit like Rocky losing the eye of the tiger!

Hi just a quick question is the donkey free kick still banned under current football laws that Willie Carr scored for Coventry? Would love to see Stoke score a similar goal and all the media furore that would ensue!

One of many lowest ebbs was the farce unveiling of Chic Bates as manager we were expecting a big name but he was given the task. (Nice fella but not a good manager!) Oh and watching football under Joe Jordan less said about that the better!!
