Without doubt this could be the greatest achievement in Stokes history but what do you reckon to the lowest point. In my mind the 7-0 at home to Brum was the worst. Any other thoughts ?

I think the 7-0 defeat by Brum was the worst. It was a symptom of unrest in the camp. The 8-0 defeat by Liverpool was by a team two divisions higher and was just "one of those nights".

The idiotic decision not to insure the Butler Street Stand thus when the roof blew off we had to sell Sir James of Greenhoff and we were never the same for years to come afterwards. Especially as he never wanted to leave.

Play off defeats to gillingham, Walsall and about 5 mins before we equalised against Cardiff in play offs were pretty fucking low moments

I think I was most shattered by losing in the third tier playoffs for the second time in a row but I didn't even go to the match to be honest.

2-0 loss at Crewe after giving ouselves a life-line by beating Pompey just days before. A win at Crewe and we would have been out of the bottom 3. We were dire. I left with 30 minutes left. Never seen a team show so little passion after a great last ditch win the previous game.
Lost to Man City last game 5-2

The 2 - 5 defeat to Manchester City after so much promise following the move to the Brit. The second descent into the third tier of English football in ten years was blow from which we seemed destined never to recover.
Thank God for Icelandic money (when they had some) and Bet 365!!

One of many lowest ebbs was the farce unveiling of Chic Bates as manager we were expecting a big name but he was given the task. (Nice fella but not a good manager!) Oh and watching football under Joe Jordan less said about that the better!!

For me it was my dad taking me and 3 mates to Stoke vs Rotherham for my birthday circa 2004. We spent the whole first half singing songs about the Chuckle Brothers, and went on to lose 2-0. Worst day ever.

84-85 relegated from div1 (old prem) with 17 points. Lowest points tally at that time and the 1st year of 3 points for a win. 3 wins all season man poo, arse, and sheffield wed who were all flying high. Cracking midfield and we hoofed it over the top of them ??? ???

Surely a vote for the FA Cup loss at Nuneaton is in order here.
We were that bad it was hard to pick out which was the non-league team.
If 'Freezer' was still doing one on one's with their keeper to this day he wouldn't have opened his account yet.

I think the pre- season prior to Chick Bates' appointment was pretty low. Could not understand why no one wanted to manage us. On the day prior to Bates' press conference we still seemed to be desperately trying to attract a 'name' to take us forward (Dave Watson was mentioned in the Sentinel!!??!!) How can a Championship club with a brand new stadium fail to attract anyone? Dreadful.

Mine without doubt was as a 16 year old going to Aston Villa and needing a win or draw to stay in the old First Division. We lost 1-0. 1977 I think. Remember how gutted I was after getting off the coach outside the old Vic then getting a PMT bus from outside the old Registar in Stoke to get a bus up to Hartshill. I was mortified in that bus shelter, felt like it was the end of the world.
Anyone else remember this game?. Me and my mate were stood on the away end and it was under construction behind us to build a new stand. Not many Stokies there either for such an important game !

'Selling Big John'
Can't say I was too upset when Gayle left myself
(Above) ......sure was Jedi. Thought that was the goal to keep us up. We went behind with about 10 to go. Think Ally Pickering equalised then Kyle in injury time. What a let down the Crewe game was. Totally spineless.
Only think I look back on and smile about was the Crewe fans taunting us with 'There's only 1 Peter Coates'...........:-) Yep ...................remind us about that again Crewe fans.

How can a Championship club with a brand new stadium fail to attract anyone? Dreadful. Because we were financially on the bones of our arse, selling players like Sheron and Griffin and replacing them with Paul Stewart, Zay Angola, and Steven Tweed. The writing was on the wall for all to see. No surprise that the Club were relegated that season, and no self respecting person within the game was intrested in managing such a shower.
