Does anybody else have a feeling where they'll never bet againt Stoke when having a flutter out of undue loyalty? After checking the weekens odds (Stoke win 6/5 & Swansea 16/5) I've decided to with Swansea this week. Now I feel a bit like a traitor

I never have done. If I'm not confident I usually go for a draw (1-1).

It was a mistake I reckon. I havn't got much faith in us this weekend so thought i'd have a point. Now, being skint I can't help but feel that if it's 0-0 in the 85th that a part of me may want Swansea nip it. Hope i'm wrong! Were also 12/13 for a top half finish which seams optomistic.

If i'm confident Stoke wont do well (say away at united) i wouldn't be adverse to having them to lose as part of an accumulation bet.
I'll still be there supporting them and my desire too win a few quid would never come before seeing us pick up points but yes why not?
It's not like my bet will have any baring on the outcome of the game or hold my team back in anyway.

Funny thing about folks who gamble wether it be on football, horses or whatever. They only tell you about their wins and never their loses

Gambling, the most isolated addiction, people will always talk about winnings, never how much they have lost in a day, having said that i do like a footie acca, but i wont do more then say 20 quid on a line, and its only once a week at weekends... no harm in that i dont think.

Betting against SCFC is not treachery. It is often common-sense. I would never, under any circumstances, back us.
On the other hand, I still bear the scars of the second half at Hillsborough in 1971, the peanut seller at Goodison in 1972, the end of the 74-75 season after we had beaten Derby at the Baseball Ground, Blyth Spartans 1978, and so on.

About 2 quid is the most i ever put on an acca, on a weekly basis ;D

Funny thing about folks who gamble wether it be on football, horses or whatever. They only tell you about their wins and never their loses Try telling that to my friends and family who have to put up with weekly moan about how some 3rd devision Scottish sides just done me out of 30 quid or how Man bastard city can't even beat Villa in a mid-week league cup game to rob me 120 quid. Mugs game but hey it improves my week slightly...

I just bet online. 20p accumulators, and spend about 5 quid a week.
A couple of years ago I won over a grand betting on international friendlies. 9 games, 7 draws. One more draw and I would have had over 10K.

Did it once - for insurance.
Final match of the 2007/08 season - the only way that the Mighty Potters would not get promoted, was for Hull to win at Ipswich, and Stoke to Lose to Leicester. A double on those results was about 22/1. I put a tenner on it - to cover the cost of attending the 2/3 play-off matches, had we failed.
It wass the biggest bet I had EVER placed - and I desperately wanted to lose my money - which I did!!
