A voice of reason mixed with reality. Refreshing on here. Too many people are getting their knickers in a twist over a squad full of international footballers.

The Luton match would have been the perfect chance to integrate the likes of Moha, Moseley and Shenton into a first team squad, even if they didn't play.
If they don't get in the squad for a match like that there is little hope that we'll see any youngsters this season.
That said, our U21 squad is getting stronger and stronger so hopefully we shall see a couple of them come through in the next two years or so.

I'll be able go go see him again when he plays against Perth Glory too. Goarrrn Tommy! Likewise, mate!

Hi everyone. The ex-Stokie round-up is back! I was jetting around, erm, England last week so didn't manage to compile the round-up, but a few goals this weekend from our old lads. Kenwyne Jones and Tom Soares leading the race for the golden boot!

Excellent ovation for him today, but a dire performance from his side.
I would be more worried as a West Brom fan tonight than I am a Stokie.

An excellent effort from our nine men, but you can rate all the lads out of 10 here. Butland - 7 Johnson - 8 Cameron - 8 Muniesa - 7 Pieters - 8 Whelan - 9 Van Ginkel - 7 Shaqiri - 6 Afellay - 3 Adam - 6 (I haven't seen the red card again, so might lose marks if it was pure stupidity!) Diouf - 6 Wilson - 6 Arnautovic - 8 Ireland - not on long enough

You can now Rate The Players at Every Step Along The Way, if you feel that way inclined. Given - 7 Bardsley - 4 Wilson - 3 Wollscheid - 5 Pieters - 5 Sidwell - 5 Ireland - 6 Walters - 7 Arnie - 5 Bojan - 6 Crouch - 5 Joselu - 5 Cameron - 7 Diouf - 5

I've had a few minutes to spare in Dubai airport, so updated the article to include Jamie Ness' debut for Scunthorpe last night. Guess what? He got injured!

Hi StoKeith- thanks for the feedback. I'm glad you're on the ball...I must have eradicated Chelsea and goalkeepers from the back of my mind! I've updated it now- they used six prior to Begovic arriving.

I agree with that Lakeland Potter. I hadn't really thought about the clubs around us before. Given that Sunderland have been up and down a fair bit since the introduction of the Premier League they've done well to cling on for so long. Not so sure they'll be there at the start of the 2016-17 season though...

Surprised to see Man City on 7? I thought Hart had been their number one for at least 5 years now. I was surprised too! Kasper Schmeichel, Shay Given, Gunnar Nielsen, Marton Fulop, Costel Pantilimon and Willy Caballero are the other keepers.

Jack Butland is just Stoke's fourth goalkeeper in the Premier League. Have you ever wondered how that record compares to other clubs in the top division? I wondered, so decided to write some words about it.

Molina and Bojan, victoria?! Wouldn't surprise me if Ireland for Afellay was the only change to the starting line-up, with Shaqiri planned for the final half hour and then start against West Brom. Hope I'm wrong though- I'd love Shaqiri to be unleashed on Saturday. After more than a week of training with the boys he should be raring to go.

Top work elliothackney. Particularly enjoyable for us ex-pats who miss the thrill of being there on matchday Keep it up! As others have mentioned, don't spoil the enjoyment for yourself, but the odd chant is always great! Top mix of interviewees, and I like the timeline of events rather than just getting people post-match.

Lewis Neal replaced Kaka. Bloody hell Yeah, I'm as shocked as you that they pick Kaka ahead of Neal.

Having a piece of toast before the working week? On the train already? Or perhaps you're on the bog. Either way, here's how the ex-Stokies got on this weekend.A new element has been added- the race for the Ex-Stokie Golden Boot!

If we got him we'd surely look to shift Bardsley out as quickly as possible, freeing up Cameron as first choice back up for right back and for centre back (in Shawcross' absence).
