The Golden One is back in action tonight- playing in a charity match for the Macari Centre at Vale Park.
6.30pm kick off with free entry (but donations obviously welcome for a fantastic cause). A few other ex pros set to play tonight too, including Andy Griffin (Neil Baldwin FC v Novus Property Solutions).
Hope to see you there!

Here are some of my thoughts. Apologies if it offends anyone, but I think it's quite a good idea.

17 in 159 for Wednesday 8 in 273 for us! Not that surprising, a lot of his games for Wednesday were in league 1 whereas most of his games for us have been top-flight, in Tony Pulis teams no less. True, but he's never scored under Hughes, surprisingly. Undervalued player who has had an excellent start to the season.

That too, PotterLog! I wonder how many of those types of clauses are inserted into deals? Quite a few at the higher level I'd guess!

Cheers slother. The Sporting Lisbon response to Bournemouth's offer for Carrillo is interesting- basically banning them (or another club) from selling the lad to their rivals.

Any idea how that compares with other teams? Now that's a challenge!! No I don't, but probably relatively average!

Saturday was Stoke's 370th 1-0 win in the Football League. Yep...I've been sad enough to check how many 1-0 wins there have been in our history. For any other saddos out there, you can thank me later for this...Any guesses who has scored the most winning goals in 1-0 victories for Stoke (before you read the article!)?

The fans have voted Arnie as man of the match. Hard to disagree with that, although there were some good performances across the park.

I fancy us to steal three points today. 2-1, I'm going for. Despite his optimism, JoeinOz doesn't believe we'll come away with an unsoiled sheet in his preview. Here's a little look at Villa in Letters, too.

They can't blame an unused sub for defeat though can they? No they can't...but it wasn't a great night for him as his side lost! Louis Moult scored for Motherwell on Tuesday night. Oops! Updated- cheers for that!

The year was 2003. Stoke were on course for relegation back to the third tier of English football. However, a win against Bournemouth in the FA Cup set up a tie at home to Chelsea. The money generated from that allowed us to sign two influential players, we stayed up and the rest, as they say, is history...

Maybe Haugaard will get some under-21 game time now? Doubt it, sadly. U21 matches clash with the first team and he seems a regular pre-match trainer with the first team. Bachmann might get a couple of matches if he doesn't move out on loan.

It seems an odd one mate, particularly when Eve has been playing for our U21s.

I wasn't able to watch tonight's match (the thought of a 2:45am wake up with no guaranteed stream wasn't very appealing...!)
For those that did watch/were there- what were your ratings?

They were dreadful at their place but I remember those last couple of minutes were a bit nervy after we conceded!

The Kids Are Alright, so maybe we should give the likes of Ollie Shenton a chance, or there's a youth called Baba O'Riley coming through... OK, this is getting silly now...
