Top half, possible playoffs. I genuinely think that’s realistic.

FFS are we really still arguing about whether he should be sacked?
I will admit I wanted him gone at one point but it’s clear he and Walters could do something good here.
Clearly there were big problems when Martin was still around.
It took King Tone a good while to improve things when he first came here. Similar to now, a lot of it wasn’t his fault.
It might not work but it has a better chance than anyone else I can think of and I feel oddly optimistic that we will do much better next season. I believe we now have the right team running things, we just need the right players, though it’s clear we do already have a few of them.

I feel slightly bad wishing ill on Brum given Tony Mowbray’s clearly very unwell.
However, having put some effort into it, I’m determined not to let it stop me.
Bye bye Brum. Hahahahahahahaha!
*But….get well soon Tony Mowbray.

You can't possibly think that just on the basis of Walters being appointed and his interviews since Of course you can. Who has the authority? Who’s being listened to? I don’t think Walters should have said the stuff he did in those interviews rallying the fans etc. That shouldn’t be his job and imo absolutely undermines the manager. It was needed and it worked. Long may it continue.

Southampton did it yesterday and many times before. Ourselves, Sunderland, Sheffield United and Brentford pretty much red and white stripe purists? We did the red backs in our FA Cup final season and the pin-stripe arrangement in the 1984 holocaust season but mostly we stick to the script. Pinstripes!!!

Maybe SJW is the man.
I can sense a partnership building between him and SS.
I’m perfectly ready for it to be yet another false dawn, but something does feel different this time.

10 without a doubt.
Right team, right tactics, right game, right time.
We’ve probably not been able to line up all four for years!

I know I get flamed for this but Vale going down isn’t good for the city. I’d rather have two thriving clubs, like wot proper cities often have. I’d have preferred them to survive. There, I’ve said it. I’m a Stoke fan, obviously, but also I will defend the city as a whole against the crap that gets thrown at it by the media and ignorant people. Stoke on Trent is a good city with good people and having two clubs makes us all stronger. Flame away, I’ve had worse. Defend the city all you like mate but I can guarantee there would be no and I mean NO Vale fans "defending the city" if the tables were turned! I agree, but that’s on them. I won’t lower myself to their standards.

Well I guess today probably settles it. He’s here next season.
I don’t know if that’s the right choice but hopefully after yet another woeful season of stress and anxiety, maybe we should just get behind him and see what he can do for us. I’ve reservations but I’m prepared to put them aside and see if we can go forwards instead of backwards now.

Is that what we’ve become to some ‘fans’, a joke? If so, you can do what my avatar suggests. We’ve had a bad, real bad, season yes but red and white blood still flows my veins at least. Yeah. My first season as a fan was the “holocaust” season. I can honestly say it will never get as bad as that. Utterly demoralising in every possible way. If I can survive that, I can survive anything. I still wake up screaming.

Not sure he's divided the fan base that badly. Not judging from the Schumacher barmy armies I keep hearing sung very loudly and for prolonged periods of time. Well the fact we’re singing THAT certainly ought to divide the fan base. Stoke City NEVER has a “barmy army”. Ugh. May as well have some half and half scarves as well.

Was skeptical when he was appointed and he’s done little to make me a believer but who else is there ? I think we’re going to have to give him a a summer to bring in a few faces and see how he fairs during the first 10-12 games. Like we did with the last manager.

Top managers would struggle with the load of rancid players at this club, never mind Schue. Let's wait & see what he does once he's got together the squad he wants, whichever Div we are in. Just what we said about the previous manager.

Making improvements? He's a grown adult being paid thousands of pounds a week after we forked out millions of pounds to sign him. Making improvememts doesn't cut it in the slightest. Get that, but that's not generally how it works, even if that's the way we'd like it to be and also the way that feels reasonable. Unfortunately, the more guaranteed something is, the bigger likelihood someone is going to take it for granted. Add more money into that equation, all it does is exaggerate behaviour one way or the other. This is only a problem if it impacts others negatively in the short term. Changing behaviours and mindset can be harder to do than improving technique and fitness, so you need to give it time and be supportive of someone through it. That or lose all transfer value and still have to pay his wages... This is all true, but it’s this kind of thing that’s slowly putting me off football. These people are paid fortunes and often act like lazy spoiled crybabies. When there are people who afford to can’t feed their families properly, I find it hard to be empathetic. If a player doesn’t want to put in a shift then they can f*ck off for all I care.

I am reminded of how crap Pulis’s first few months were, until a massive thrashing (which left us bottom of the table) persuaded our then owners to spend some money. Even then we only stayed up on the final day.

He still should be fired realistically. Like most of the club. I respectfully disagree. Hes come into an absolute mess. And he's messed a fair few things up at times but who wouldn't with that puzzle in front of you. But I think he's got a lot of fight in him and I think the majority of the fan base can relate to him. A hard working upbeat scouse lad who obviously loves his football. I predict good times ahead with him I really do 🙏 I do hope you are right. I’m warming to him and he seems like someone we could all unite behind. We just need the results. If he keeps us up then maybe things can turn around finally.

OK, he didn't have the best working conditions as a lone striker, but still he only had a lucky assist to show for his efforts. I thought he did OK, but this was certainly not a performance worth an 8 or even a 7 in my opinion. If this was an 8 performance we certainly don't expect much from our strikers anymore! In comparison I thought Ennis did a better job as the first defender after coming on. None of them had a shot on goal though! The goal threat of the whole team is abysmal. We won 0-2 and I’m not sure anyone had a really good game. Great points but still massive issues that we have no answers to. You could take the view, that if you can win 2-0 away without anyone having a really good game, that that’s a pretty good sign.

He was excellent today, led the line brilliantly….. To be fair, not many players come in from the cold. Could be a real character defining event for him. I hope it is. Yes. May even be a first for us, which is interesting in itself. I’ll be honest I didn’t think we’d ever see him again.

I believe SS carefully assessed their players and the threats they posed and then handpicked the team to effectively handle them on that particular day. It was not just a stroke of genius like the Enda-Stevens selection, which neutralised the tricky JPD on the wing. Haksa also utilised his skills for tracking back and communicating with Enda, while Cundle played the crucial role of the water carrier, handling all the unnoticed tasks and mopping up. It was a typical Dave Kevan role that often goes unnoticed, as he covered multiple positions throughout the game. He truly came to the rescue of his teammates, even though it may have been overlooked by those who are not well-versed in the game. Of course, there have been instances where things didn't go as planned in other matches, but today he got it just right. Kudos Steven, you need to be allowed to manage. Playing your only left back isn’t genius. It probably is for us!

Credit where credits due Big big result and all credit to the manager we critic's got that badly wrong It’s just a shame that there are so many of you and that you all appear to be the most active and negative on this so called supporters’ message board. Let’s be honest. Aside from today there’s been lots to be negative about.

Still needs to be fucked off in my opinion. We got lucky today with that line up,hoever is gash,Mmaee is fucking lazy as is Laurent and finally we only won because sjw had the sense to promote morris to the bench because Schumacher just hasn’t got a fuckin scooby. That should do until biscuit man and his cohorts appear. I’m still not convinced by Schuey but to come out with that after today is….interesting. It was a great result AND performance however one tries to spin it. Not like we won with a lucky penalty or an own goal or something.
