More inconsistent police tactics, the difference in the handling of yesterdays protests compared to the softly softly approach used other recent protests was there in full view, the police seem more than happy to steam into football supporters but not so other protesters I wonder why that is ? interesting also how the media were chucking out the breaking of covid rules but not a peep about it when we have protests outside schools etc with no social distancing

"Sam Vokes is a striker that feeds off crosses" well Michael we don't do crosses and fat Sam hasn't scored a league goal all season wake up man Sam Vokes is about as much use as a chocolate fireguard, that miss yesterday summed him up completely a striker that can not score is finished.

forum.thefishy.co.uk/Blah.pl?m-1619557422/What a shame that it ended the way it did for him. Probably won't see him in a Town shirt again (fingers crossed that we do) but he has been brilliant the last few games A beacon of light in a town shirt. Thank you for all your efforts. I'd give a bollock to have him back at the club next season. Not a chance though, far too good for non league. Really hope he has a good career. In his short time he single handedly improved our midfield , for a young lad , with little previous League experience he has looked more interested, more capable and more motivated than most. Never been bullied and showed great promise. Love the way he uses his body and positioning , seems to play with alot older head on his shoulders. Given that he dropped the level to play games and boosted our performances as a result then a perfect example of a loan player. Would love to see him stay and play for us but destined for bigger and better things i would think. If you do read this then thank you for your efforts in this little corner of the world. A bright spot in an otherwise cr@ppy season. Great player but I think having Coke in there really helped him too - what a midfield combo that would be going into the conference. Matete has been superb, as others have mentioned, from day one. A real warrior in the middle of the park, which we'd been missing for a long time. Love the fact he gets stuck in, can play a bit, rarely loses possession, and isn't frightened of having a crack. When I saw he'd put us 1-2 up I really thought we might win tonight and maybe...just maybe...pull off the greatest of great escapes at Scunthorpe's expense. He grabs the game by the scruff of the neck so no complaints from me about his blood and thunder style. would like to see Hewitt, Menayese, Clifton, Coke, John Lewis, Macca and Matete all here next season but as others have mentioned I think likelihood is we won't see Matete in a Mariners shirt again. If that's the case, thanks a million Jay for helping us to believe, despite the odds being stacked heavily against us and best of luck with your new adventure. PS if you're reading this and you're willing to help us win promotion at the first attempt, name your price and we'll start another Operation Promotion... You'll go down in Grimsby folklore if you do Only slight disappointment with Matete is that he only started and end his spell with us by driving forward in games. A lot of games he played a lot deeper where he isn't anywhere near as effective. Not sure if that was down to him or instructions, but when he had the licence to push on he was something else. Absolute no chance of us keeping him. Real driving force in the midfield with an eye for goal. If he can cut out the silly tackles then he will be a top player. Sounds like the type of player we have been missing, although asking a player with such little football league experience to have in an impact in the Championship is asking a lot. Like we are asking the manager to do

We are carefully snipping away with secateurs in a forest full of dead wood when what is required is a great big fcuk off chainsaw and a JCB excavator, sadly our owners don't have the admit their mistakes.

There is so little quality in this team that it's really painful to watch! I can hardly believe the quality of the crosses from players playing football almost every day! Not too long ago we were watching wingers like Etherington, Pennant, Arnautovic and Shaqiri, and now we almost just have players of league one standard! If we can't keep players fit next season we need to bring in more creativity and goals unless I really think we'll struggle to stay up. Another sickening performance, how much more can we take! What's all the fuss about get this manager gone he's out of his depth along with our CEO.

Shows what a cesspool of a country were becoming with no morals Is shows that the labour Party is a dead duck in almost any form, unless Starmer rids them of the far left and the influence they have including the Marxist trade Union leaders they are fcuked, the ordinary working man has turned his back on these libtard lunatics.

If it helps to get him off the wage bill then the club would be mad not to do it Why do we feel the need just to give players away in free. I get Millwall won't likely pay the 1.5million but he's worth that. How much did we pay for him ?

....all the mess he came into with players to get shut of, and this season injuries to contend with / So basically he’s doing a job similar to every other manager in the Championship. ‘Great’ is certainly not a word to describe his first full season. ‘Average’ or ‘improving’ at best Very average not so sure we are improving we seem to be going backwards.

Scholes wasn’t/isn’t running the recruitment department though. I don’t doubt he’s failing in various other capacities. Jones appointed his mate. Carto fair enough but he’s long gone. Most of the signings we’ve made have been manager driven. Scholes is running the club He makes the senior appointments such as team manager and head of recruitment . He may have to liaise with the owners . But he makes the senior appointments . That's why it's very important you have a CEO who knows what is doing What is a CEO (Chief Executive Officer)? A CEO, which stands for Chief Executive Officer, is the highest-ranking individual in a company or organization. The CEO is responsible for the overall success of a business entity or other organization and for making top-level managerial decisions. They may ask for input on major decisions, but they are the ultimate authority in making final decisions. There are other titles for CEOs, such as chief executive, president, and managing director.

It's the amateur way the club is run that makes it difficult to judge any manager at Stoke If bet365 was run in the same way as Stoke , then man city would be 500 to 1 to win a piece of silverware next season . And bet365 would be bankrupt A look at the championship league table , tells me , it is simply ,not true , that NJ rowett and MoN are all, incapable of running a championship football team NJ and Rowett are fine at not Stoke city , but Stoke city is a step too far for them We can't carry on with relegation form forever , without getting relegated , so something has to be done Perhaps change the CEO , recruitment team , coaching set up , everything behind the scenes Or maybe change all that and the manager as well , but don't be surprised if MoN is then fine at Luton/ Millwall/ Celtic / wherever It's clearly true to say MoN has made this and that mistake but there is so much more to it that . I think MoN could thrive elsewhere . If he goes , then everything has to change . Simply changing the manager again and again and again is unlikely to put to bed all our problems The rot started at the top nothing has changed since the rot is still there, chopping and changing managers replacing one fall guy with another has achieved very little, our signings are still poor the club is amateurish is every way, something has to change in the decision making department it has to come from the board, Scholes has to go at a minimum.

He looked Premier league class at one point Personally I do not like reading too much written about Tyrese Campbell. Yes, in his short time in the first team he has demonstrated as good as we have seen in a long time as a potential striker for Stoke but my experience has told me that the oatcake fanzine board has a history of making our players legends before they have, in reality, really proved themselves. It is only our imaginations taking over when we are saying what a difference he would have made. The estimations of the many millions he is worth is unrealistic. I sincerely hope next season he will prove everyone right and that he realises his great start or we will be back to square one. He's given us some hope in a sea of dross.

I often wonder why, if they want to be referred to in the plural, they always refer to themselves in the singular. Can't have it both ways. They will demand that they do.

If it goes blue as expected, presumably Starmer has to walk? It will be a clear example that the old red wall is still firmly blue and that Labour is totally useless. He'll literally be up to his neck in political excrement, while other members of the party are queuing up to literally stab him in the back. But to answer your question, no. Want to bet!? Don't you blame Brexit

And to think we got him on a free and paid £9m for fat Sam Whilst if you read my posts I’m no Vokes fan. There was a rumour that diouf was on anything between £60-80k a week v Vokes £30-35k? Possibly however if you factor in the £9m we paid for Vokes on top of the £33k a week we are paying him, consider the return on both I would imagine Mama would look like good value compared to scintillating Sam, talk about deadwood he's a small copse worth on his own but he still keeps getting game time !

He's definitely not doing a great job. He's going to be under immense pressure come next season and the board won't hang around if we haven't improved by late September. The style of football this season has been utterly ghastly to watch and results haven't been much better. We are heading for yet another bottom half finish... How is that "doing a great job"? That said, he's comparitively cheap and massively got us out the shit last season. A huge few games for him in August/September. If there’s one thing our board excel at, it’s hanging around. They are at the monitoring stage which lasts about 6 months typically, they then move on to cogitating another 3 months, then the shit hits the fan they panic and appoint another useless fall guy rinse and repeat, lessons learnt, what's all the fuss about blah blah blah.

absolutely disgusting. Bad parenting is the single biggest reason for kids turning out like this character. What the hell crossed her mind to give him a lift. Perhaps when you've got through the programme Metal you can come back to this thread and give your considered opinion on the involvement of the local social services, teaching profession, local council, local community leaders, not forgetting governments and national parties. The police were only part of this disgrace. It would be interesting to know how much the teachers were truly aware of. You have to remember, teachers are seen as cartoon villains and are rarely where kids go to talk about things. There's also the possibility that those teachers who did take their concerns further, albeit from hearsay alone, were blocked at the first hurdle by social services and the police. On that point, social services? Shameful. Utterly shameful. Perhaps the only other organisation that could do with their funding cutting as punishment for their repeated failures which continue to this day. To call these poor girls prostitutes, at 15, is one of our darkest episodes in history. To then throw the sexual health clinic under the bus by suggesting they weren't aware when 181 referrals were made to police and social services. Shameful. Local community leaders and by that, do you mean the local Imams? Sounds like they just turned and looked the other way... Pure and simple. Not one of those complicit in this cover up has been charged with any offence, strange that.
