When was the last time Stoke did something properly exciting that made you feel like Nigella was nibbling on your bellend?
It’s probably Forest away last season and a few others. Barnsley away last season.
This season has been absolutely dire.

Campbell earlier in the season had me on the edge of my seat, feels like he can get a goal from anywhere, stunning finisher.

The premier league windows were exciting even if we were rubbish at it for the most part. Game wise? That's a tough one, we have been useless for five years or more now

Sheffield Weds 3-2
2-1 down after 93 minutes...Boxing day
Campbell and Vokes (Yes....Vokes!!!) I remember McClean hobbling badly on one leg to take that corner and thinking No Way!...WTF!...rest is history.
That was bloody exciting!

Honestly? It was probably hiring Nathan Jones.
It was a PR masterclass at the time and all those photos with him arm in arm with Bojan.

Seeing Crouch head in that last goal against Liverpool & making it 6-1. Will we ever see the likes of that again spine tingling.

Rather fortuitous League Cup wins against Villa and Wolves followed by Tottenham coming out of hat was easily this seasons highlight for me.
Close your eyes and we were back in the big time!

Seeing my mates in the pub before the match. That was the best bit before any game.
And missing those who wont be there anymore. 😢

He looked Premier league class at one point Personally I do not like reading too much written about Tyrese Campbell. Yes, in his short time in the first team he has demonstrated as good as we have seen in a long time as a potential striker for Stoke but my experience has told me that the oatcake fanzine board has a history of making our players legends before they have, in reality, really proved themselves. It is only our imaginations taking over when we are saying what a difference he would have made. The estimations of the many millions he is worth is unrealistic. I sincerely hope next season he will prove everyone right and that he realises his great start or we will be back to square one.

It's going back a bit now but I am compelled to include the day, October 28th 1961, when Stanley Matthews made his second debut for Stoke, at home to Huddersfield. A crowd of 35,974 turned up to watch and Stoke won 3-0. Thompson 2, Adam 1 (Jimmie, not Charlie!).
I don't think anything at Stoke has ever been the same since. My Grandfather said to me, "You watch this man. You'll never see the like of him again!"

That's true to a degree but he genuinely was making a difference, wasn't he? Hence us plummeting once he got injured. Even in that game, we only took the lead because he'd conjured something from pretty much nothing, and he'd done that a few times. There should definitely be patience and an acceptance he may not hit the ground running once he's back though and we need to have a Plan B and Plan C for our attacking play.
