I'm a southern Stokie it seems. There were a few words there that my friends used but I did not. They used to say I was a bit posh for when I we moved to Burslem from Shelton as a kid, which is of course true of anybody that was not born in the Mother Town.

That's amazing ! I think the firemen are firmly on the side of the gilets jaunes protesters anyway, particularly after a fireman was shot in the back of the head and ended up in a coma in January. In other relatively recent protests they've sided against the police as well. It was interesting that in the Catalunya independence protests there were videos where the firemen were also seen to be standing in front of the protesters against the police. As has been said - there's absolutely nothing, not a word, not a report about it on MSM. Can't help feeling that I've just watched some sort of training exercise rather than what it was billed as.

I don't think there's any more of it about at the moment, I think it's more a case of a shift in attitude away from binge drinking and an increase in alcoholism awareness that is now causing more people (like us) take notice when these "incidents" occur.

So the film lacks lesbians? I can only tell you what I saw, there is crude sex portrayed between women but no nudity, I was left thinking it was an arrangement of mutual convenience rather than between real lesbians. Put it like this, fans of hot lezzers will be sorely disappointed as should anyone forced to endure this preposterous movie! Sounds like the definitive Oatcake review of this film. I was talking to Mrs RBO about the film and this thread and we concluded that it's a chick flick and that it need not bother blokes.

I don't know about lesbians but the Emma Stone character reaches up under the queens night dress and fingers her to a noisy orgasm. You are left thinking she did it to curry approval from the Queen rather than for her own sexual gratification and the queen simply needed the sexual release since no man would give it to her since she is pug ugly and her legs are rotting away with chronic gout. I apologise for that rather unvarnished explanation but that's the kind of film it is. Any token men in the film are portrayed as being quite ridiculous, coiffured dandies looking like they have just stumbled out of New Romantic revival concert. Frankly it's f*cking ridiculous. I'm fine with ridiculous if it's fun but it's just miserable and daft. So the film lacks lesbians?

There’s been a lot of brouhaha about the lesbo scenes but TBH I am more interested in the fact that it’s three really good actors and, from my interest in history, a rocking horse shit rare cinematic depiction of Queen Anne (who most people only associate with furniture). The reign of the last Stuart monarch was an intriguing period in European history - so our A level history teacher tried to impress upon us all those years ago. So it's got lesbians?

I know people say the National Enquirer is a rag written for thick peolple by thick people, but why would you go after the richest man in the world? Bezos has the resources to not only make you and your entire family disappear, but to ship you, dead or alive, into the fucking sun. Simple, sheer arrogance from years of shutting people up with dirt. I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall when Pecker found out that Bezos went public.

Looks like The National Enquirer has been caught with it's pants down by Jeff Bezos. The gist is, The Enquirer has got hold of private messages between the boss of Amazon and his new squeeze and published them. Bezos was not best pleased about this so he instigated an investigation into how the messages got out and enlisted the help of The Washington Post. The Post appears to have dug up info on The Enquirer and apparent dodgy dealings (who would have thought, eh?) and The Enquirer boss, David Pecker goes nuts that someone would have the nerve to take him on. Pecker subsequently had an email sent to Bezos detailing further messages including dick picks and shots of his new girlfriend in states of undress, and said that unless the investiagtion is called off, Pecker would publish Jeff's pecker in all it's semi erect glory. Bezos decided to call him out and has published the email which he describes as blackmail. Bezos has gone all in on this and has called Pecker out, shone a light on Pecker's relationship with Trump as well as Trump and Pecker's relationship with Saudi Arabia. Bring it on! A sleazy publisher versus a sleazy billionaire running a company that is helping to ruin society As you say bring it on hopefully the pair of them crash and burn Yeah, I can't say I'm a fan of Amazon either.

I'm clearly stupid, please explain how it was not racist? Well, your basis of it being racist is that if the answer had been "White" he wouldn't have reacted the same way....which is based on absolutely NOTHING, zilch, squat, fuck all whatsoever apart from your own mind.
I'm simply staggered that you can't see the utter stupidity of saying something is "Definite" because of a conclusion that YOU have presumed which has no basis in fact whatsoever. Can you not see the mindnumbing, skullfucking idiotic nature of what you said???? Try it in court mate....."Yes m'lud, it was definitely racist. Proof? Well i just reckon myself that he'd probably have done something different if the bloke was white, that should be enough to make it definite shouldn't it?".
Actually....i think Neeson probably would have reacted exactly the same way if the bloke was white and he'd have gone after a "White bastard" instead. There we go, case closed...i think something on behalf of someone's else's brain, so therefore it's DEFINITE eh? Daft melt
I'm not sure what has triggered you here, perhaps it was my judgemental tone, but my point was that his actions were racist and he has come to accept that they were wrong. If specifically targeting a black man to kill because a black man raped his friend is not racist, then I don't know what is. Much in the same way, if the guilty man had been of a different religion to his own and he targeted them, then it would have been sectarian.

His view at the time was definitely racist as if it had been a white man that committed the rape in overwhelmingly an overwhelmingly white area, would he have have gone looking for a white man to kill? His views now are not racist. People reading the headlines and not the whole story will jump to whatever conclusions that want to believe about the story. Oh...so his view at the time was DEFINITELY racist because YOU have decided how he would/wouldn't have reacted if the answer was different. Got ya...as long as i now know that's how we ensure someting is DEFINITE from here on in I'm clearly stupid, please explain how it was not racist?

Hi new film is a remake of a great Norweigian language film with Stellan Skarsgård, Order Of Dissapearence. If you can live with subtitles it's a well worth watching. I doubt that Liam can pull of the same level of a performance as Stellan managed. On the subject of Skandnavian black comedies, check out Headhunters.
EDIT: It turns out that Norwegian film and the new one share the same director, so there is some hope...

No racist views are expressed by him. People need to rethink their knee-jerk responses and stop crying 'ist' or 'phobe' to everything. Because, in the end, it does more harm than help to the supposed causes and no discussion at all can take place.

He was voted into power on the back of promising the American public a wall so you could argue that it's the democrats who are at fault. Bit like the lot we've got here in Westminster over Brexit. Perhaps there's a "Democratic" deficit in the USA as well Is it not the case that the American Constitution is set up to work on a Balance of Power between the President and Congress? The set up right now thus reflects the elections of 2016 and 2018. If I am correct, there is no problem with the practice of Democracy in America. Trump has had to opportunity to force his wall through a Republican Congress TWICE, so why did he wait until he lost control of The House of Representatives before making a stand? For me he's playing the drain the swamp/victim of the establishment card so to bolster his support in 2020. It's all a complete load of bollocks.

He apparently will ensure staff receive back pay. Only thing is, that doesn't include contractors. Which is an awful lot of folk seriously out of pocket thanks to Trump's truculence. His conduct in this matter has been a disgrace. But, the bottom line is he lost. And no one likes a loser - particularly in America. He will lose many more battles as most POTUS do but he has had his fair share of wins. Two Supreme Court nominees safely installed on the bench. The travel ban. The bonfire of federal regulations. Criminal justice reform. Legislative action aimed at ameliorating the opioid crisis. Nato members ponying up more cash. Annual wage growth is at a nine-year high. 2018 was the best year for job creation since 2015. Many of his campaign pledges, such as the renegotiation of the Nafta free-trade agreement and the relocation of the US embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, have been kept. Promise made, promise kept is one of his boasts that regularly rings true. You cannot complain about media bias on the brexit thread without conceding it happens with Trump too That bonfire of federal regulations has done a lot to boost jobs at the expense of their version building regs and the environment. There's plenty of building going on in places where the EPA previously banned it in places such as Florida where restrictions were lifted because they no longer believed the science behind global warming and it's effect of rising sea height. It's not really a problem as the people making the money will be dead before the Atlantic starts to lap up the sides of the condos.

It has just been announced that the former leader of the SNP has been arrested , but the reason for his arrest is unknown. There ceartainly seems to be some major dark goings on up North of Macbeth proportions. Having had had a major charge against him discharged in court recently, it seems that they are still out to get him. I did wonder if it may be Perjuy, which is how they got Archer, but that is pure speculation on My behalf. Nicola seems to have remained very quiet throughout this saga. Unusual for her as she seems to have an opinion about most things. Politics, what a proffesion ! She's had to stay quiet as she is connected with the botched inquiry into the sexual misconduct allegations. The case he recently won was about the way the Scottish Government handled the case, the original case has yet to be heard.

... Hang on. There are now rumours it was staged to discredit the yellow vests and the boxer might be a shill. In a way this illustrates what I was trying to say in these recent posts...how do we really know what to believe, and what is the agenda in selecting or blocking certain events...and as Richie says, the use of D notices. I don't know if a D Notice is in force at the moment or not, it was something I picked up on Twitter. There is however a very loud silence over whatever is or is not happening in France at the moment and that silence makes me very uncomfortable.
