Each launcher/radar truck usually costs $10 million+, and the missiles they carry can be $1 million each (at least for S-300/400 like this one). A few $100k GMLRS rockets are a fucking bargain. And now the republicans' pro-Putin blockade is temporarily stopped, more of those rockets are going. Would they really put that gear in such an open position? Looks like a decoy position to me.

Some big announcements made today. Rishi Sunak is set to announce a new £500m military aid package for Ukraine. The aid is expected to include more than 400 vehicles and more than 1,600 strike and air defence missiles. And also The UK will increase defence spending to 2.5% of national income by 2030, the prime minister is expected to announce in a hardening of military policy at a time of growing threats. The expected rise is less ambitious than some insiders say is needed - but it will mean tens of billions of additional pounds for the armed forces over the next six years. The problem is will Labour also commit to this if they win the next election? Which newspaper is that from? It was objective until the last statement.

Funny thread to be on if you don't wanna debate trump mate 😉 The excuses for trump's fraud to the banks look like typical propaganda to me. If other people did it he still shouldn't be above the law. If he defrauded bad people, he still shouldn't be above the law. I also don't just believe trump's team when they say "everyone is doing it". There are massive incentives to sue for fraud as well as criminal cases like trump's, so if everyone was doing it we'd see. I just don't think we should trust politicians. They should be investigated particularly hard. Hunter Biden is going through what sounds like extreme levels of investigation that wouldn't be chased anywhere near as much if his name was Smith. But I think that's good, you should have extra scrutiny on those linked to real power IMO. Basically I think the Bidens and Trumps should get more checks than random folk, the same level as each other. But the results might be different because one of them is just more corrupt and criminal than the other. (I haven't researched the border issue enough to have a strong opinion, but I'd like to know what you think Biden's done and should do) I'm no expert on politics or the American legal system but I just find it odd that firstly the bank in question didn't bring the case. The bank under oath said it didn't rely on trumps financial assessments and did their own anyway. And the bank also testified that they have been re paid in full. I'm actually struggling to see where the big bad crime is? Regards the border all I can see is that official figures claim 7.5m illegal border crossings during the Biden administration. Although that figure doesn't include an estimated further 1.5m undetected crossings. Some argue these figures are also vastly underestimated. Seems to be a very big problem to me and way way bigger than anything that happened under Trumps administration. Just saying it as I see it. I'm not going to pretend to be up to speed on this one, but let's think it through a little. The banks did not end up out of pocket, and they may not have used Trump's valuations, which sounds plausible to me. However, what would have happened if Trump had gone bust on the deals, what then? The banks would have tried to recoup the money via secured assets that were not worth as much as reported. Do you think the banks would have a no harm no foul attitude? Furthermore, loans might be backed by insurance policies, so somewhere down the line, fraud would have been committed by Trump or the banks. All in all, it's not in the bank's interest to say bad things about Trump.

More Machiavellian work by smarter than women, Ben Sulayem. Cunning PlanTLDR: Sulayem has beef with Liberty Media/F1, and the Vegas race was the first race that Liberty was the actual promotor, (all other races have individual promoters) so if the race were cancelled, it would have cost Liberty $500M+ The guy is toast.

All kicking off today! FIA President under investigation for trying to interfere over the result of the 2023 Saudi Arabia race - www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/68465516Rumours flying about that Max could be off to Mercedes next season. Ford could be pulling out of their deal with RB over the Horner drama, Newey potentially leaving, below video is good at explaining what the hell is going on. I'd absolutely love it if RB implode 😂 I think the Max rumours are bollocks to be honest, think it's all engineered to try and force Horner out. However, it's come from a highly reputable source (AMuS) and Matt and Tom in the above video make some decent points too. I refuse to watch videos with people pulling overemotive faces, but all this stuff that's coming out with Mohammed Ben Sulayem makes me wonder how Bernie Ecclestone got away with it for so long. Bernie is as shrewd as they get, and when he carved things up with the equally sharp, Max Mosely, they ran a very tight ship. Sulayem, is a man of privilege and entitlement, with less intelligence (but more than any women, he once said) than he thinks he has.

The leak might do Horner a favour. Ginger Spice already knows what's happened and has stood by him, so having the messaging out in the public domain (if genuine) allows people to see that he's just another bloke trying to get a bit on the side. Not a great look, but so far it shows that the investigation may have been fair.

any time now the future of Christian Horner will be decided cant call it either way Steiner to replace him..? I'd say Jonathan Wheatley is most likely at least in the short term. Gunther would be great from a PR perspective and would be more of a fresh start than Wheatley.

This "if you want Ukraine to win, why aren't you over there fighting" has to be one of the stupidest, most illogical arguments going. Is it more stupid and illogical than when he suggested that to end the war in Ukraine, Ukrainians should run away from the Russians?

Hearing into Red Bull team boss ends without resolutionIt is unclear whether the matter will be resolved before Red Bull's 2024 launch at their Milton Keynes factory on 15 February, where their new car is set to be unveiled. Red Bull are still planning for the event to go ahead. The investigation into Horner could take weeks, and there are even questions as to whether it will be completed in time for the start of the season. Nothing resolved yet then. The new car car launch will be interesting, as nobody will give two figs about it, all eyes will be on Horner, which of course he will enjoy.

Sounds like bullying to me, but I don't see why that would lead to the appointment of an investigating barrister. So far this year's the off-season has been more interesting than last year's championship; Norris signs extension Leclerc signs extension Hamilton to Ferrari in 2025 Sainz binned off in preference to Hamilton Andretti's team barred from entry to F1 for spurious reasons/greed Albon is rumoured to be going back to Red Bull The spare seat at Mercedes leaves an opportunity for chief mischief maker, Alonso to replace Hamilton (other possibilities are Albon (if the RB rumour is false), Sainz (probably going to Stake/Sauber/Audi), Ocon (seems credible but boring) or more interestingly, a big promotion of Andrea Kimi Antonelli.

They didn't get 20 years for getting caught up in a riot. They got 20 years for conspiring to cause a violent disturbance expressly designed to prevent the transfer of power to to the newly elected head of state - which is an act of sedition. Not all riots are the same. The whole point of the Capitol riots was that it was seditious in intent. All states have harsh penalties for sedition because sedition is about overthrowing the state. Bringing in sentencing policy for paedophilia is completely irrelevant. You are still refusing to recognise that some riots, like the one on Capitol Hill are fundamentally different to others, like the BLM roots. The former is seditious, the latter isn't. The severity of the riot is irrelevant - it is the purpose and intent that defines the crime. There are a lot of people getting ridiculous sentences for getting caught up in a riot. And if you happened to know a few of them you would think very differently regardless of the fact you are desperate for the orange fool to get locked up. Three days ago, you said that you've not paid much attention to the Jan 6th Insurrection, and now you know people who were involved. That escalated quickly! People say this but what did he actually negotiate successfully? IMO look more at what politicians do when they have power instead of how they brand themselves. The way he tried to overthrow democracy and has made it obvious he plans to do the same doesn't look like someone who'll negotiate. Looks more like a dictator in waiting. I've not paid much attention to this over throw of the govt and the Jan 6th Insurrection. But I have to admit one thing just doesn't add up to me. Considering a hell of a lot of people are armed to the teeth in the USA and if the media is to be believed there is a big prevalence of Trump followers being into their assault weapons. Then how come they all turned up to Capitol Hill unarmed. I mean if you're going to take the govt out you'd think a lot of em would have turned up dressed like John Rambo with their big guns.

Honestly, I find it unfuckingbelievable that a male as vile as Trump could be anywhere near the position of President again. I've come to the conclusion that many Yanks are as bad as Isis. They're out of their tiny brains. OS. It's counterproductive to question the intelligence of Trump supporters as it usually causes them to double down on their beliefs. I don't know what the split is, but I suspect most Trump voters will vote for the policy that they feel most strongly affects them such as; Banning abortion Christian values (the values that suit them, not the others) A Christian judiciary Immigration Isolationism (job protection) Tax cuts Gun rights Islamophobia Antisemitism (once they've done with the Muslims) Climate change denial White nationalism There are varying degrees of legitimacy in the (incomplete) list above, and many of those points will earn Trump votes from people who dislike him. However, those that are simply caught up in the cult of personality and slavishly promote him are fuckwits.

I just went off the names from the other thread on hindsight a few good names not mentioned at all. Maybe we should have an extra category at the end for best of the rest. Add a category for posters that couldn't be bothered to propose anything but then cry about them not being in the shortlists after. The 'You should have read my mind' award Hard hitting 101. Totally agree. If posters do not log on regularly to check in on new threads, then their views should be discounted.

It was a Rainy Day in Georgia for Donald today His ex Lawyer Sidney Powell pleaded Guilty to Election Subversion. She will receive a suspended sentence but with a condition she testifies against Trump, Tick Tock You may remember her as the Throaty Voiced one who made some extraordinary accusations against Venezuela, Cuba, China, George Soros etc from a podium while Rudy sweated profusely in the background It was quite a spectacle www.cnn.com/2023/10/19/politics/sidney-powell-fulton-county-georgia-2020-election-subversion/index.htmlOuch. You do have to wonder about these people. Presumably, as a lawyer, she must have weighed up the consequences of spouting all the shit she did and doing all the illegal stuff - so this turncoat action must have been baked in to those deliberations all that time ago. Unless she genuinely thought it'd work, Trump would be declared winner and none of it would matter, which does make you question her ability to be a lawyer. If Trump does go to jail and get ruled out of standing, I wonder if de Santis will get the nomination by default? Or has Nikki Haley overtaken him? Exciting times ahead. I was under the impression that she was not actually working for Trump, and I would not be surprised if Trump was reasonably isolated from her as she appeared to be a bit of a fruit loop at the time.

Lewis lost the championship by staying out too long on knackered tyres in China. He was being greedy over the number of points he could win in the race and pushed his tyres way past their operating range, and crashed in the pit lane when he finally came in for a tyre change.

Felipe Massa's crew attempting to overturn the 2008 F1 World Championship that Hamilton won in one of the most exciting final races I've seen: www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/66857747I hope this doesn't happen. How many years would we go back? Senna was cheated out of a title, for example. Would it lead to Hamilton getting Verstappen's controversial first championship back? Massa was definately wronged by the incident, and I have very little doubt that Max and Bernie covered it up. It's for this reason, I no long fret over Lewis getting stuffed in 2021. If Massa wins his case, the Lewis will loose one championship, but will go on to win 2021. However, Massa does not have a cat in hell's change of winning in court as his case is largely based on a public comment by Bernie. Seeing that Bernie could never be described as a reliable witness, and has already said that his memory of events is unclear, the best Massa can do hear is to go for a payout to shut him up.

Sainz has been steadily going up in my estimation over the last twelve months as he's consistently out-thought his own team. It beggared belief that his team warned him about Norris getting into his DRS Zone, when it was bleeding obvious that he wanted Lando there to act as a rear gunner with DRS. Norris also knew what was going on and knew that friving like a defending team mate was his only chance of a podium. I enjoyed Lewis trying to give Russell the hurry up too!
I felt sorry for Ocon, as his overtake on Alonso deserved a points finish all by itself.
