I’d say it’s more of a choice, I don’t agree with and choose not to do it. Those who do boo, aren’t supporters in my opinion. It’s a weak response to a strained situation. My advise to people who plan to boo if things don’t go well is to stay away in the first place. N ironically your name is gloryhunter🤦🏼♂️😂 it’s anything but a weak response imo….if they grafted n at least showed a bit of fight there would be no booing at all let’s be honest, it’s the sheer lack of desire n fight what pisses people off, they score n play well they get cheered..when they cower n show no balls they get booed…pretty much the same everywhere 🔴⚪️ Part of the problem is Laurent is the best of a bad bunch. I gave up on the guy when I saw him mutually congratulating Johnson in a “well-played mate” sort of way after we lost at home Southampton and both were dire. Half our team think they work harder and are better footballers than they actually are.

You just know he’s gonna dedicate that 35 yard screamer to Ange, even if we’re 4-0 down I’d be amazed if Laurent could hit the target from 35 yards, even with no defenders and an empty net. Did you see him in the Broxap challenge with the kids? If he wasn’t a unit he’d be playing non-league. One of the worst footballers I’ve seen play for us and I watched all of the 97-00 period.

Knackered I think. Not used to a league where game-to-game fitness is key. Didn't he have about three weeks off with his suspensions either side of the international break? I wish we'd play him as a deep-lying midfielder, rather than have him running around like a headless chicken, collecting yellow cards. Maybe his agent has told him off to Ajax and there's no need for him to do his stuff until pre-season for them?

Our entire midfield - apart rom Burger - just can't make basic passes. It's scarily bad at this level. What's happened with Wouter? He's been abysmal three games on the spin. Knackered I think. Not used to a league where game-to-game fitness is key.

Bloody awful but he did clear the ball off the line towards the end and that could prove crucial. His consistent dog shit performances over the course of the season could prove even more crucial They'd mostly already happened before the clearance though. Only three more dogshit performance left and then we all get a break from the man.

He was partly to blame for their goal because he was moaning about a previous decision instead of getting back behind the ball.

I personally hope he's utter shit coming off the bench for the next three games and scores in all of them.

Schumacher is making it very difficult for me to keep supporting him with his treatment of these two. It was fitness-based. I think they're both likely to start the last three games. Although I quite like them both as impact players vs tired legs anyway.

Anyone having a go at him for blocking that shot needs their head looking at. As frustrating as it was, it was just bad luck. His goal wasn’t luck though, a quality finish under a lot of pressure and I reckon anyone else in our side would have missed that, possibly not Mahoef Exactly. We've hardly got anyone capable of a cool finish like that in the entire squad. Laurent would have completely butchered it.

It’s a shame Vale exist really. If they were never a thing we’d have a club in this city that in the Championship could draw home crowds of what 26-30k depending on how well we were doing? And probably 40k in the top flight. An absolute game changer. I imagine they probably think it’s a shame we exist.

Ask and ye shall receive..... The plaque was displayed in Delilah’s Bar for many seasons, but was put into temporary storage when the refit happened and the bar became Ricardo’s.
The plaque will be repositioned very soon so that fans can enjoy it.
Thank you – once again - for your polite approach.
Best wishes, Polite approach?

I’ve had loads of periods in the last 18 years since I graduated where I’ve not been looking for work but just survived on whatever money I’ve had for a bit and then got a job once the money starts to run out. Never claimed any benefits because I’ve never needed to and always paid rent and bills. I’ve just added it all up and it’s about three years’ worth all together in chunks between 2 and 4 months at a time. Whatever job you do and however much you love or hate it you’re selling some of your time on earth at the end of the day. I’d rather take a casual attitude to the idea of paid labour in general and it seems like more and more people are thinking in the same way. There’s a weird martyrdom about work in this country that I’ve never understood. That’s a great attitude to have and one I’d wished I’d taken on a few occasions over the years however it never seemed to be at the right time (mainly due to being married, having a mortgage and having old fashioned values being drilled into me). That said god willing I’m due to retire early next year so can hopefully make up for lost time then. One thing that’s softened the blow is that on the whole (certainly for the last 20 years) I’ve really enjoyed my job and don’t think I’d find anything better. Fair play to you for doing it. Have you always found jobs well paid enough to be able to do it? Have you got a degree / skill that enables you to do it? It’s probably been more lifestyle choices than anything. Also the belief that work shouldn’t dominate your life. It’ll catch up with me eventually I’m sure but because I don’t mind doing jobs that other people don’t seem to want to do – hospitality, warehouses, social work-based stuff – my brain has told me to this point that I can quit jobs I’ve had enough of because in 2, 3 or 4 months time I’ll be able to find another job. I’ll probably end up working a lot longer than most people because I won’t have accumulated a pension or any real “assets” but flogging myself and dying a couple of years after retirement obviously doesn’t interest me either. I don’t think the way I’ve done things is conducive to buying a house, getting married or having children but I’ve never wanted those things anyway. Some people would say it’s selfish but other than the Western world being set up to encourage people to live their lives a certain way, there are no “rules” to life are there. It’s why I find it so funny that people insist on getting annoyed at those not seeking work. There isn’t one way to live your life and everyone should be more open to different ideas. My two months off a year work breaks (on average) isn’t even that alternative in the grand scheme of things.

Football is just a job to him isn't it? I think that's probably the reason. He doesn't get to play very much for England and he doesn't get paid very much for it. Why bother if you're not interested in football outside of making a wage?

It’d be interesting to go back and see the last time so many teams were massed about the 40 point mark at this stage of the season and what the survival points amount was. As already suggested it might be more like 52-53 to stay up. I’m sure there’s been similar scenarios at the bottom before but the situation seems so fluid at the moment with this many teams in danger. Just had a quick look there and Blackburn got relegated on 51 pts in 2017. The other similar one looks like 2013, where both Wolves and Peterborough broke the 50 pts mark and got relegated Good research. I think we aim for 55 as 100% safe and see how close we can get to that.

The pace of this Blackburn match approaching 2hrs is something to admire. Blackburn have been very brave on the ball. I’m pretty sure this how Schumacher thought he’d have us playing by now.

How brilliant would it be to see stoke put in a performance like Blackburn have? I find the way we play alien to how football is played in general now. I’ve seen League One and League Two teams look more skilful, fluid, coherent and motivated than us for years. No idea what Stoke have been dicking around at but it feels almost like we’re playing a different sport to me.

It’s just sleepwalking into League 1 like we sleepwalked into the Championship in 2018.
Seems like unconscious incompetence leadership and recruitment-wise. People who don’t know that they’re fucking terrible at their jobs. Feel like we’ve pissed away about £400m in transfer fees and wages on a collection of players collectively way past their peaks over the last 7-8 years. It’s scandalous.

Ipswich did 16 consecutive seasons in the Championship and after eventually getting relegated finished 9th, 11th and 9th in League 1 before it all came together last season. That’s even worse than our last trip to the third tier.
If we come back like they have I won’t mind as it all needs a massive shake up. I won’t have to watch it though so maybe that’s just me. And that may be the best-case scenario.

So we could go large on transfer fees but pay those players peanuts. Cash injection by the owners counts towards turnover providing it's not in loan form so we would be completely free to spend what we want essentially. Oh. So we can be the Man City of League One, shit all over everyone and still miss the playoffs? I can’t wait.

Wages have to be 65% of turnover or less don’t they? I imagine if we’re average or more in the league we’re in now that could leave us in a bit of bother.

Interesting comment from Schumacher just🤔 Not a great choice of phrase was it? Embarrassing interview. That’s the kind of thing you say when you’re adrift at the bottom, not when you’ve only just dropped into it. Bloody hell.

We’ve got no good goalkeepers or defenders have we? The only reason we’re not being battered every game is because the league in general is so poor. It’s so depressing.
