Thank God for that, sorry Boro fans Agreed. They’ll have to handle a serious price rise in season tickets when Pulis gets them promoted. Poor fuckers.

Nice to see some toys being returned to prams. Common sense prevailing at last etc. Happy xbox. Yes ..the Hughes out nonsense certainly went into overdrive last week. Most of it fuelled by this message board actually. Think you'll find it was driven by results and performances. Once he was kept in post last Summer the most sensible option has always been for him to complete this season but I don't think anyone could have factored on performances being as bad as they have been/are hence the clamour for change now. Its definitely not an ideal moment but very understandable given how bad we've become. There has been nothing in our performances to suggest an upturn.

Why do people live in the past £18M is a punt for a proven goalscorer from a top league start at £50M.

Surprised you're still allowed on here Pugs after your sick pathetic lower than a snake's belly comments last week about TP not grieving for his mum because he would rather earn a seven figure bonus. Admin should ban scum like you. When I stop and think (as opposed to you Pugs who is incapable of such a thing)about the man, the legend, the most successful manager (along with Tony Waddington)in the History of Stoke City, I feel enormous warmth, pride and gratitude to Tony Pulis. You along with Onlooker, Alster etc are the crackpots. Do you have a problem with successful people, men in authority Pugs? Real leaders? Because you sure are screwed up to harbour such hatred, such bitternes? GGOD LUCK TP!!! ONE TONY PULIS THERE'S ONLY ONE TONY PULIS!!!! Thanks for the memories Tony and your immeasurable success - Promotion, safety with consummate ease, cup runs, Cup Final, Europe! Forever grateful, always remembered, never forgotten. And a very Happy Christmas to you and your family. Ahhhh diddums did some bad man slag off your hero? Weirdo. H It would be kind of sad if it wasn't so funny. Hero worship, proper man love.

People who want Shaqiri out of the team really do hate football or are smoking crack out of a massive pipe. Think quite a lot of our fans don't actually like the game.

Swansea have been relegated before a ball was even kicked. The other two are more tricky. At the moment we are going to struggle I’m afraid. You've been saying that about Swansea for 3 years Marchy, you're bound to be right eventually :-) Think he started it when they had Vorm in goal, they were going to get relegated because he was too short.

Hughes will be cursing the media again for negative propaganda against him. He thinks we've been much better than that. Fuck knows what he'd say about me I think they're being generous. It's hard to see how the media have been negative as far as I'm concerned....... his deficiencies in approach have only started to receive comment in the last few weeks. These problems have been in evidence for around 2 years to those looking closely enough. If Hughes could get back to the positivity of the first 2 seasons I would be more than happy but life rarely works like that. A fresh approach is needed in my opinion. I am concerned by the Coates family belief that patience/inaction equals stability...... sometimes it is actually stagnation. I think he's had an easy ride tbh from both the media and the fans nobody in the media seemed to pick up on the fact that he'd reverted to hoofing this week was the first mention that I've heard. He's been dining out on the football he produced two years ago, being credited for changing Stoke's style of play for over a year whilst he was actually ripping everything he'd done apart and going back to the negative agricultural tactics of his predecessor. Fans have been very patient and only recently got on his back despite the fact a single half of football vs Leicester last season sticks in the mind as the only enjoyable positive football I've seen us play at home for at least a season and a half and even then he shat himself and threw away a 2 goal lead against 10 men because he didn't have the balls to keep pressing forward and kill them off.

Dress a win up as you want we are one of the 3 worse in the league. Let's hope Mark can produce more wins in his next 8 than he did in his last 8, hey. Big mistake not getting pulis back in You mean that Tony Pulis bloke who put together the second worst team to turn up at the Bet356 Stadium yesterday? I know we were fucking terrible.

i Don't think people have animosty towards him. He was great and will go down as a great for us. We just don't need him here again. He would never come back for those reasons. Good luck to him. we had our time with him and it went well..... lets not ruin it.. Hughes is the manager and that is not going to change.. good luck to him. If you don't think there's any animosity towards Pulis, you should read a number of the posts on here about him. There's definitely hostility from some of the fanbase, adulation from others and respect from the rest I have animosity no bones here can't stand the twat.

With Bet365 1/5 Swansea 10/11 WBA 2/1 Bournemouth 11/4 Brighton 5/2 Newcastle 10/3 Huddersfield 7/2 West Ham 4/1 Stoke City 4/1 Crystal Palace 9/1 Southampton 33/1 Watford A couple of thoughts on this. Interesting that we are same games and points as Southampton yet considered more than twice as likely to go down. We are only 3 points, or one win, behind Watford, and yet they we are considered 8x as likely to go down! Southampton I sort of understand but Watford are more or less in free fall. I don't think Watford will go down but if you are looking for 'value' on a bet they might be a good shout. Watford also have a history of falling away badly in the second half of the season. They'll be hoping Silva can stop that trend. Non of the top bookies offer a profit on one of the promoted teams being relegated so that's my banker scuppered.

Swansea look done for 'cos they can't score (Only 11 goals in 19 games) West Brom are similar (only managed 14 goals) I think Huddersfield could go aswell. Don't score many, let in loads at the other end, and we're entering the second half of the season where newly promoted teams inevitably get 'found out'. I'd be amazed if all the promoted teams stay up. How often has it happened previously? Looked it up for myself. Only once in the Premier League era has no newly promoted team been relegated. The odds very much favor one of them faltering. Next task check the odds I suppose.

Anybody who can't understand Arnie rubbing your noses in it after you'd baited him for the whole game before he rammed it back down your throats is a bit(no a lot) thick. Bards was cast aside in favour of a bloke who retired a year ago. Bony because of the way Hughes treated him last season. If you'd left one employer not on the best of terms who wouldn't enjoy rubbing their nose in it for their new employer.

I've liked Choupo from day 1 and I thought he looked really good yesterday. I also thought he showed some pace - more than I realised and to cap it off, he comes over as a really nice guy when interviewed. I bloody hate footballers wearing their hair like Lin Chung from The Water Margin but for Choupo I'll make an exception. If he continues to play like this I'd have mine done like his except I'm severely follically challenged! 😁 I think it was in his previous home game getting back and he sprinted and I was astounded how fast he was don't think I'd ever seen him sprint before which is pretty damning. No doubts a good performance yesterday and at least one more sprint but he certainly doesn't believe in burning himself out.

A couple of ok free kicks, but I thought he was pretty poor yesterday against a pile of crap. Definitely but flair players rarely play well on a weekly basis. Still football would be so much poorer without them.

He doesn't pull the strings often enough though does he,if he did there would be no problem, but of late he has not put a full shift in and that's the reason he is being substituted, and by the way you can't have a team full of flare players....you need workers in there, it's a matter of getting the right balance surely !!!!!!!!! He is our only flair player !!!!!!!!!!! one too many for you by the sound of things.

Are people really that thick that they think you can go from having confidence on the floor one minute, to playing teams off the pitch the next. Yesterday was about getting a result. Once they pulled one back early second half, the nerves set in for the players. They grinded out the result and even finished in style. That hopefully helps confidence a little bit. Given the respective form and position of the two clubs I would expect us to have at least as much confidence as WBA yet despite the result they we're able to dominate us. I'm not having it that it was only after conceding that nerves set in and ruined our performance they dominated every stat bar goals scored in the first half too. If people keep hiding the truth, making excuses and trying to be positive without grounds nothing will change. We're a timid team with a confused manager playing awful negative football. Maybe facing up to the inconvenient truth will actually bring change instead of hiding from it and being "supportive" like we're parents of some sensitive young crap footballer. We're paying football fans for gods sake and the product is fucking awful.

I wish some of the worst whingers would just give it a rest. They’ll have plenty of chance to tell us how they were right all along (you know after ten summers of telling us we were doomed). At least wait until we lose next instead of trying to suck up every last ounce of joy from winning this massive 6 pointer. I’m struggling to see why we should ‘win comfortably’ against a team that has just drawn with Liverpool and lost by one goal to Manchester United as well to be completely honest. Especially as ‘win comfortably ‘ seems to now mean winning by at least 3 goals. I think you're missing the meaning of win comfortably. 3-1 scoreline suggests a comfortable win but if you went or watched the whole 90 you'll know it was anything but. What I and others wonder is when will we ever see our team dominate a game again.Everytime we get a rare win nowadays its always defending the edge of our box and hanging on for grim death. Does it surprise you we hardly ever win if we play like that. Its like inviting defeat and being surprised when it turns up. I really would like to know what's good about the way we play its been extremely disappointing productively ie in producing points and its absolutely dire to watch. What does it have going for it exactly?

The problem is we keep trying to play a system that best suits Shaqiri and not the team as an whole, and he is not always on it,when we play a system that suits the rest of the team with Shaqiri out wide he is hardly in the game...doesn't help his fullback, doesn't make the most of the space like an ourthadox winger would and try to get to the byeline and cross the ball is what we are missing,Shaqiri has said on a few accasions the he wants Champions League football.so let's get some money for him, bring in a winger with some pace on the right who will work up and down the line, which will make us a much more balanced side as at this point in time we need workers not shirkers....as good a player as he can be we just can't carry players in games anymore if we want results, and it's not only him on any given day.. Just a team full of work aaards is that really all you aspire to for our club.

I'd go with most of that except I'd be tempted to give Bera another go up top...also how far away is BMI BMI, about a month I thought? I know its only a game but fantasy premier league has him down as expected to return early Feb. Shame key element in improving our defence. Fucking great when you get more information on a game than from the club.

......................Butland...................... Edwards.........Zouma......Shawcross.........Wimmer ................Allen......Cameron................. Ramadan................Shaq..................Choupo .......................Diouf....................... Very hard on Crouchy, but easier to play for counter attacks with Diouf on top. Think Diouf is our fastest player too. Subs: Tymon, Souttar, Afellay, Fletcher, Adam, Jese, Crouch, Berahino. I'd go with most of that except I'd be tempted to give Bera another go up top...also how far away is BMI Think Berahino needs more minutes from the bench in which to do something to justify starts. I'd go with the above but replace Wimmer with Pieters if fit.

Choupo has a great game yesterday involved in all 3 goals. If it hadn’t been for the blind back heel when in a dangerous position it would have been a complete performance and every bit as exciting and game changing as anything the Snake managed. BM Still some way behind Arnie in terms of general play needs to learn to use that big frame and his power to better effect but he's certainly more composed in front of goal. Needs to keep up and build upon the intensity in his play, that's what has been lacking and seen him benched.

It's a lazy tactic and isn't proving very productive at all god only knows why the manager is so obsessed with it. You do get the feeling that Ryan loves that easy option much more than he should. But it the managers tactic. Not sure how you know what Ryan loves Hence the words "I get the feeling" as in I get the feeling he likes hoofing because he doesn't have to think about it or push his boundaries in any way.

He's fabulously talented , but I can understand why he winds people when he plays wide right . He doesn't form a unit with our right back , in the same way diouf or Ramadan does , when they play wide right . If I was stoke's right back , I would much rather have diouf or Ramadan in front of me ,than shaq It's interesting he is stoke's and Switzerland's most skillful player , and Switzerland just play him at number 10 , where he isn't directly protecting anyone. I just don't buy all this protection we should be able to field 4 players that are predominantly concerned with attacking. If the back 4 and 2 sitting midfielders can't cope they're not good enough.
