They only gave Man City 9/10. It makes you wonder what they have to do to get a 10.

A similar report in The Independent is equally damning....... we got 3/10. It was also, difficult to disagree with the assessment.

Hughes will be cursing the media again for negative propaganda against him. He thinks we've been much better than that. Fuck knows what he'd say about me I think they're being generous.

It's hard to see how the media have been negative as far as I'm concerned....... his deficiencies in approach have only started to receive comment in the last few weeks. These problems have been in evidence for around 2 years to those looking closely enough. If Hughes could get back to the positivity of the first 2 seasons I would be more than happy but life rarely works like that. A fresh approach is needed in my opinion. I am concerned by the Coates family belief that patience/inaction equals stability...... sometimes it is actually stagnation.

This season has certainly led to considerably more worrying decline in team performances......even after the obvious concerns last season. I'm happy about the win yesterday but remain concerned over the club's apparent ' eyes closed ' attitude.

How do West Ham get 5 and Palace 5.5. Are they saying their expectations are lower than us.

Hardly surprising that the richest clubs get the highest scores is it?
Stokes net spending is zero.
( Although I agree that we deserve 4/10 for our performances this season.)

I think he's had an easy ride tbh from both the media and the fans nobody in the media seemed to pick up on the fact that he'd reverted to hoofing this week was the first mention that I've heard. He's been dining out on the football he produced two years ago, being credited for changing Stoke's style of play for over a year whilst he was actually ripping everything he'd done apart and going back to the negative agricultural tactics of his predecessor. Fans have been very patient and only recently got on his back despite the fact a single half of football vs Leicester last season sticks in the mind as the only enjoyable positive football I've seen us play at home for at least a season and a half and even then he shat himself and threw away a 2 goal lead against 10 men because he didn't have the balls to keep pressing forward and kill them off.

We desperately needed the win despite another poor performance against a poor WBA side, the ostrich approach at the club in general is a real concern I fear we will be struggling against relegation this season if we keep Hughes, he got away with it yesterday mainly due to poor finishing from the baggies.

I agree, a decent side would have beaten us quite comfortably yesterday. The win is disguising the long standing and ongoing general regression.

Best case scenario? We get through to the seasons end, stay safe and give Hughes a grand send off before replacing him with someone more imaginative. However, I'm concerned that safety will justify the decision to not take action and will be seen as vindication of a policy of perceived stability. Even worse there is still a distinct possibility that sticking rather than twisting will get us relegated. Interesting times!

Hughes should stop blaming media for false representation, take this on board and get his backside in gear and get it sorted, or do the honourable thing.

We are wealthier than both these clubs, or at least Bet365 is. We are also the 8th most established PL club. Maybe the media expects us to push on. Instead they see a club satisfied merely to be in the PL. We are where we deserve to be. Until the ambition for SCFC matches the ambition for the Bet365 brand this is unlikely to improve.
