Our inability to keep control of the ball for any amount of time is absolutely embarrassing at this level.

We have to show more as an attacking unit.
Simply not good enough.
Or are we just hoping that Shaqiri produces another moment of magic?

It probably isn’t going to be a popular opinion, but I’d seriously consider giving him a go upfront again. Solely because I would love to see someone up there who has a decent first touch & can make the ball stick. Too often the ball goes forward (albeit aimlessly), and the strikers are sloppy. By sloppy, I think you might mean technically inept? Ha ha yes. I was being polite.

I thought he had a first touch as good as Dioufs, so won’t look out of place.
On a serious note, it’s good experience & it wasn’t ever going to be an easy debut against two massive centr halves.
Keep him in the squad, as I’ve more faith in him scoring than I do Berahino.

What a rotten cameo.
We were sort of in control for a good spell just before they scored, yet when Charlie came on we were an utter shambles. It was frenzied & panicky.

You can’t write a manager off because his team lost 3-0 at home to an Arsenal team with Ozil & some other top players in.
It’s an impressive achievement that he has even got the club to that stage in the competition.

Our best set piece taker is Shaqiri. The player who had just placed one on the back of the net from 20 yards was Shaqiri. The guy who has carried us as an attacking threat all season is Shaqiri. Should have been Shaq and I thought that before Adam took it. What does any of that have to do with penalties? A penalty isn't the same as a free kick. David Beckham was a wonderful free kick taker. Shit penalty taker. With Shaqiri there isn't much evidence either way. Adam had stuck away the last 4-5 he'd taken for us. Beckham was hardly a terrible penalty taker. The bloke who has just scored 2 in 2, confidence high & has a sweet strike. Or the guy who has really struggled in recent times? I know who I would have chosen

You pick the best player, one who will not choke and that clearly should be Shaq. He would of buried the penalty The interesting, or frightening, thing now is the dressing room. Likely we'll have Charlie, Fletch and the old style boys on one side & Jese, Shaq on the other side - PL's big job in the next two weeks is to get them as one again else its pretty likely one group will not play the other (at least in terms of teamwork) I have a nasty feeling the side against Leicester is going to include Charlie, Fletcher, Johnson & Crouch in the starting line up (reaches for the razor blades)
No you don’t, you pick your best penalty taker. We really don’t have a lot of evidence to say that’s Shaqiri or Jese. Our best set piece taker is Shaqiri. The player who had just placed one on the back of the net from 20 yards was Shaqiri. The guy who has carried us as an attacking threat all season is Shaqiri. It’s a sad day when you are hoping that Bournemouth can get a win away at Huddersfield to keep your hopes alive.
Years of neglect & this is what happens

It all stems from the movement ahead of them though. I’m going to have a heart attack if I have to keep shouting for somebody to move when we have a throw in. I’ve never seen anything like it.

He was a cheap & lazy appointment. Thoroughly uninspiring.
One thing that is puzzling me is that some people are saying we are too slow and ponderous in possession (overplaying), others say it’s hoof & hope. It’s just a mess.
I just cannot work out what on earth the plan is. What are the tactics? How are we trying to play? Just seems a right mess at the moment.

I haven’t seen it again, but looking at the picture, surely Diouf is in a prime position to tap in a rebound for where it ended up.
Did he just stop & not follow it in?
Obviously watching it live it looked like Adam should have buried the rebound too

As bad as it was, atleast we didn’t crumble to a 3-0 defeat at home to a relegation rival like we did under Hughes.

Coates out!
How can a multi million pound company restrict themselves to such a small pool of potential managers.
The most important job at the club & we have appointed Lambert.
Hopefully (by some miracle) he can get us organised & the fans can get right behind the team and see if we can limp over the finish line in 17th position.
Sort of feels like the 12th man is the only thing that can save us.

It’s everybody else’s fault but his.
Throwing the blame around but you need to have a long hard look at yourself, resign & admit you’ve done all you can.

The area that that needs to be addressed is the manager. That’s the reason things haven’t been going well Mark.

Good option to bring off the bench, but to start him is just crazy.

We have got 90 minutes of hoofing it to Crouch to look forward to on Monday.

It is absolutely embarrassing.
Regardless of the team we put out, we should have some shape & idea of we are trying to do.
Teams in league 1 could put on a better display than this opening 15 minutes.
Hughes out

Looks like he’s saying that we were awful last season & survived, so he’s hoping for the same outcome this year.
It’s very concerning that th hierarchy don’t seem to see any problems with what has been produced for the past 2 years.

This may seem like an odd thing to criticise, but I absolutely detest the kick off routines we seem to have done for years.
First thing we do is launch it 40 yards and it usually results in giving the ball away.
How about keeping the ball for a few passes & everyone getting an early touch to settle into the game.
But no, we just hoof it like it’s a hot potato & that sets the tone for the rest of the match.

Stoke manager Mark Hughes: "Don't tell me that anyone says Burnley deserved to win that, because they didn't. The lads are devastated, they didn't deserve that. "We'll be OK, we're fine. We are working hard to try and turn this around but I am encouraged by what I've seen tonight. "Burnley play on percentages, they hope something will drop for them and they are making a habit of it." It’s what we seem to do too, however we never get enough support to the guys up front, so we rarely win the second ball.

100% effort is the absolute bare minimum that we should see for every single game. Not just when a few fans have shouted some nasty things at a train station.
He needs to be gone tonight, the man & his little posse of coaches are clueless.

Only looked like one team scoring in the last half an hour. They bring on another striker, we take off our biggest attacking threat. Absolutely bottled it & got what we deserved. Hughes out.

This is just negative dross. It’s a 5-4-1 formation.
Very little pace in it so there’s no threat from the counter attack.
It’s just awful to watch.
