No worries. I'm confident with time you will be ok. You gonna 'do a Villa' and win the CL ? Imagine

I think you will be fine, I really can't see you being in a relegation fight. Hughes is a good manager and you've got a great squad. Like last season (I believe you were in a similar position) you managed to do alright in the end. You are probably the best supporter we have got at the moment. Thanks. No worries. I'm confident with time you will be ok.

Cheers lcfc, are you looking for top 6 this season? Possibly, top ten finish I'd be content with.

I certainly reckon so, can't see why not. You've got a lot of quality in your squad and if all your players can click as a group, you could do great things but that's the key thing about it, having the group playing well altogether. Bony will score goals with suitable service, I was impressed when he signed for you. I do think with regular game time Wilfried can be a real goalscorer. Best of luck for this season, it'd be nice to see another Midlands club do well this season, you've got plenty of potential to do so.

Comment your top five PL signings of the summer... What do you think? Doesn't necessarily have to be in order. 1. Kante - Chelsea 2. Ibrahimovic - Manchester Utd 3. Gueye - Everton 4. Negredo - Middlesbrough 5. Wilshere - Bournemouth

I think your badge is nice enough, certainly recognisable. I agree, it perhaps needs a more Stoke link to it, and that doesn't even have to be a new badge entirely, add something traditional and original onto the current template maybe.

Sorry to hear about your atmosphere, as mentioned it was once regarded as one of the best in the Premier League. It's difficult because yes we (Leicester), get plaudits for our home atmosphere, but it's always in the back of my mind that we use drums, do the poznan (kind of), clappers, and goal music in which we constantly get labled with names for, I'm always worried about our reputation as our club.
It's saddening to me because I think English fans can, or used to be able to produce a proper atmosphere without the need of encouragement/prompts. It just seems these days atmosphere's need prompting to be honest. But it's not even a case of incapable, every club's fans are capable of producing atmosphere without the need of enhancements, it takes commitment & effort. However, fan groups are the way forward for English support, it's the best option we've got, dedicated fan groups who give their all to the atmosphere. Palace, Birmingham and Watford have all benefited from fan groups.

Was intrigued to see this signing for you. I think Bony will do well as he will probably get regular time to show what he can do. He was excellent for Swansea and if he can regain that sort of form again at Stoke, you've got yourselves a good goalscorer I reckon.
It's a similar story to the likes of Remy and Benteke, I'd also put Bony in that category of very good players who can flourish if the fit is right. Bony and Sigurdsson linked up very well at Swansea as a pairing which is to an important degree why it worked for Wilfried - perhaps that's what he needs at Stoke, someone with creativity to link up with him, to understand his game & his strengths. Once players form a connection as a pairing, you can then utilize him to his best potential and give him the service. Shaqiri, Imbula, Bojan are all capable of this I think, I'm no expert on your players of course as I do not watch you every week but I do know they are talented.
That's how you can get the best out of him I feel. I'm not suggesting even it has to be one player who forms a understanding with Bony, you've got several players who could do this. In fact having several players who know how to utilize him would be excellent and as a result he will score goals in my opinion.
If you take my club Leicester, our whole team know each other and how to play to each other's strengths. That's a big factor as to why we won the league last season, because our lads and management know what to do to win games, the players recognise in themselves and others what they're good at so they utilize it.
We know to play on the counter because we have pace and it suits us, Drinkwater knows to play a ball over the top to Vardy, the team know how to defend (as an entire unit) and we know how to get the best out of Mahrez. That's just a few examples but having a team who understand each other to such a degree will bring success. Nigel Pearson helped form, over years, this famous team spirit between the eleven, he built a foundation but assembled players together who will defend together and give their all. Ranieri has taken that to another level, he has built on the foundations Pearson set, he has invested but at the same time, maintained and strengthened the team's bond.

I'd like to see Antonio, Vardy, Drinkwater and Noble. Defoe is a real goalscorer as well so wouldn't mind him.

A superb group draw for us, three great clubs to play against. A lot of our fanbase are very pleased, I think we could do well.

I was very pleased to see this story come about last night from Percy, and a lot of our fanbase are right on board with this. N'Zonzi is proven PL quality, 27 years old (prime age), and has the exact attributes we require for our centre midfield. He'd be a superb signing and I remember I think last summer we bid 18m for him, however he left Stoke and joined Seville.

Can't help but like the Britannia (or Bet365). If you've got new seats that's coincidental, as our own stadium has had just the same job. We've now got new blue and white seats, although they were described as 'retreated' rather than 'replaced' I believe, I think some were removed though when I went down to our ground today.

I don't mind it to be honest. Like a vast majority of Football fans, Saturday 3pm is the best time for kick off in English football but if that isn't possible, Friday night football is the next best thing in my opinion.

Would really like to include De Bruyne, amongst a few others too but here's my team & formation, it will change again most likely;
GK Schmeichel RCB Wollscheid CB Alderweireld LCB Evans RM Mahrez CM Sigurdsson CM Kante LM Payet RF Gray CF Vardy LF Aguero
Subs: GK Foster CB Kone RB Ward CM Capoue
I have attempted to create a balance of quality within my squad so I'm got a strong starting XI and strong bench.

Trying to decide on whether to put Lamine Kone or Erik Pieters in my Fantasy squad? Judging by Erik's points he looks a very tidy player, also thought Kone looked good for Sunderland last season and might contiune that form.
On the note of value of players, I'd agree with Butland at around 20m, and I'd put Bojan at 12m. Arnautovic 15m. Like the look of Imbula who on his day, has that look about him to be class.

Well the Hull result was very disappointing for us, we were expecting a positive result from the game but I think it was just one of those 'off days' across the whole team. I'm not overly concerned by the result as Ranieri has said himself we aren't fully fit yet, and to be fair Hull were the better team yesterday and deserved their win. We now must move on and try to get back to what we're good at. Can't help but think we need two more signings though - RB and ST. In terms of what I'm expecting for this season - I'd be very happy with top ten, and top six would be even better. You've signed quite a few players though, haven't you to offside the loss of Kante??
On paper, you look to have strengthened; your chairman seems quite liberal with the transfer kitty but Im guessing that's with the extra revenue from the CL
You are right, we have strengthened this summer but for me there's still areas which need strengthening. Just two more additions for me, and I'd be content.

Interested to hear your thoughts. Being a Leicester fan I do not know what it's like and I've always wondered what Leicester's like as an away day. Is our atmosphere one of the better ones in the league would you say? Stadium view, atmosphere, design, parking etc.
Does your perception change because of us using clappers? I do worry because what we have, and what we do at our stadium doesn't seem to do a lot for our reputation as a club. Appreciate any comments on this.
Thanks.

He's in my Fantasy team as for some reasons I've always liked him. I wanted to choose Shawcross but not sure how he is with injuries/fitness at the moment? I've been interested to ask actually - what do you think of Leicester as an away day guys? Not sure if it's just me but I always wonder what my own team's ground (Leicester) is like for an away day in terms of atmosphere, what it's like in the away end and the stadium itself etc. We get a lot of stick for clap banners which is worrying for me... In terms of *just* away ends - I like yourselves Stoke, West Brom and Arsenal off the top of my head. Not lying here though, when you sang 'Delilah' back in the 2014-15 season at our place, it was the loudest chant I heard all season, and I was at the other end of the ground. You and Villa were the best in that season. This was one of my favourite away days. Bojan the wizard's goal and a £200 accumulator win. I like Leicester away. We always go in the boozer opposite the train station then a taxi to the ground. Decent seats, following and normally a belting atmosphere. Clappers are awful as is the goal music, but none of them worse than that drum. Thanks for the video clip, it sounded like a top away day for you, especially with the £200 quid win. Our ground is unique in the fact the away fans are housed in the corner, and the home fans are either side of the away end, hence why the atmosphere can be proper. I do know what you mean about the clappers, goal music, and the drum. I can't deny I'd prefer it if we didn't have these, but I suppose it works for us so I doubt the club will change it. However, if we contiune to be successful on the pitch, with our current matchday set up, then so be it I suppose, I'd much rather have success on the pitch than the worry about the clappers, goal music and drum (I do concern myself about it though, have to admit). Great to hear feedback though, it's interesting

Everton is a nice, traditional English ground. West Brom is good, as is Stoke. What do you like about our stadium and how is it a favourite away day considering you've said previously you've never been 😂 You are right, I haven't been to Stoke yet. I'm basing it on appearance and what I've heard from our own fans. Perhaps not a personal favourite away day, more of a general comment because I like your ground overall .

Hopefully he's manages a full season with you with full fitness and no injury problems. Not only is he in my Fantasy team, but I genuinely think he's one of the best established CB's in the league. I think he's good enough for England for sure... maybe he might get his chance.

Thank you, interesting to hear. What worries me is we've now got a reputation because of using clap banners, which I'm not keen on. At the same time though from my point of view (and the club's point of view), the younger fans seem to like the clap banners, it encourages them to join in with the atmosphere so it's hard to take that away from them. Again the goal music is the same, although at least it's Kasabian from Leicester, so a bit more original. In my ideal world we'd have no clappers, no goal music, and just contiune to create the atmosphere we do at home - we've got the potential to, it's just takes effort. Perhaps now our fan base know what a difference our support makes, we will start to be consistently good at home in terms of atmosphere, I really hope so anyway. Clappers for me are small time and should be reserved for plastic clubs with no atmosphere like Brighton. Leicester City are a traditional club who should be better than that. I think last season with the results you got the atmosphere would have been bouncing without the clappers, they're just a needless annoying American thing. Agree. I've said it many times before, last season our home atmosphere would still be up there with the best even without the use of clappers. Have to say it'd be nice to have a break from them because certain chants go too quickly because of the clapping. It's probably more of a consistent noise I suppose but I'd like to see what our atmosphere is like with just our hands. I use my hands personally...

Hi FriendlyLFC, You seem to spend quite a lot of time on here and you are welcome. How does the Oatcake compare with your own forum? Are we more interesting with more topics and informed comments, or do you just find the abuse aimed at each other as well as certain other clubs ( principley Man U, and Arsenal) amusing ? when I have looked at other sites I have always thought that the Oatcake is one of, if not the best. Thanks. To be honest I really like it on here. There's so many interesting topics to discuss, and the folk on here are genuinely very nice & knowledgeable. I appreciated the welcome when I first joined given I'm an opposition supporter. I'm a member of FoxesTalk (Leicester's most popular forum) and for me IMO they are both very good forums, have to say. FoxesTalk & Oatcake are probably up there with the best - the layout's are good and content is interesting. From what I've seen, Oatcake has more question based topics, whereas FoxesTalk is not quite as frequent on that.
