This Friday sees the seasons first Friday night game with Man Utd hosting Southampton. Surely they could have picked a more localized fixture, to have this there are gonna be 1000's of people travelling on a Friday afternoon,( plus a few 100 Southampton fans) taking time off work, not getting home till stupid O clock, adding to traffic congestion, just does not make sense to me at all, why not make them derby games, for me, it's an ok concept, after all the TV companies are the paymasters now, unfortunately, but Man U v Southampton...Really... Stoke v Man City would have made more sense. Rant over....

Overall probably against, I can see why they've done it ( money, like everything else) but just keep the football at the weekend as much as you can

Totally opposed , notoriously the worst day to travel in this country & the hardest day to secure leave / time off..Friday's is the preserve of a few lower league clubs forced down that route due to having bigger , better supported neighbours ..no regard for match going fans
Could I do without the TV money and revert to the days of Saturday afternoon ..yes I could...could the players..you better ask them

I'm against for the reasons stated , but then remembered that the fans who go to games (particularly away fans) don't matter to Sky! Oh for the days of the Saturday ko @ 3pm or better 3.15pm as it once was for Stoke !

I'm probably in a minority but I don't mind it. Way better than Monday Night Football or Sunday lunchtime kick-offs and sets up a whole weekend of nogger just nicely. Of course my preference would be 10 kick offs at 3pm on Saturday, but in the world of televised fixtures I don't mind the idea of Friday Night Football at all.

The Southampton fans had better start off now, Thursday evenings is getting just as bad as Friday afternoons now, as all the TWAT's (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday away workers) head home, of which I am one this week

Against. Friday's are good enough already! Mondee Nate games are shit too. There should be 9 Prem games that kick off at 3:00 on Satdee and one that kicks off at 4:00 on Sundee. Unfortunately that cunt Murdoch spooky that.

Nice for TV after a long week but like a lot of the moving KO's not great for fans , Id happily let all the money go back for a honest sport where local lads get a chance to play but sure I'm in the minority.
I hate early ko's even more

I think it might help if they were told they could only have Friday and Monday games where the distance is 100 miles or less between the teams but Southampton to Man U on a Friday is toss and for the 2nd season running a Stoke V Swansea game on a Monday !!!! I bet even the fans of both clubs fans are not that bothered about watching never mind the broader public that should be 1.30 Sunday if it has to be on at all

Totally against on two fronts. One, the ridiculous travel for the away supporters(and the travelling home fans too) in the horrendous traffic situation that is Friday. Two, and more important from a personal view, Friday night is usually Saints rugby league night. That said, the powers that be (Sky) have even screwed that up by introducing Thursday night rugby league, as well. He who pays the piper, etc. I guess.

Agree that they should pick more sensible fixtures (ie Stoke v Man Utd/City, Palace v Spurs, something within 75-100 miles max etc) for fans travelling, but on the whole I like Friday football, its a bit of a novelty (only 10 fixtures per season I think), some Friday afternoon beers followed by the game (and then off out if you are still young enough to do so!), gives you the weekend back as well (mine are fairly manic with kids football and other sports)
I remember our last Friday game with glee - wasnt that the Scunthorpe game (following the Tuesday night Southampton game) - both 3-2 wins seeing us go top of the Championship?
Different circumstances in both - one 3-0 up and nearly blew it (Saints), and the other 2-0 down and came back to win (Scunny) - an epic week and was buzzing all weekend - knew we would do it then in the (I think) March!
Think we had some good ones on TV in the Champ - Leicester 3-2 (Bangouras finest hour!), seem to remember a decent game v Preston on a Friday too

That is another reason for being against, never been to to Rugby league game but still think that Friday night is Rugby night and at the very least there should be no Football on Friday during Rugby season, better still none whatsoever leave it to the smaller clubs living in the shadow of giant`s (Vale) By the way do you like your new ground or did you prefer Knowesley road?

I don't mind it to be honest. Like a vast majority of Football fans, Saturday 3pm is the best time for kick off in English football but if that isn't possible, Friday night football is the next best thing in my opinion.

There are no "4-game weekends" i.e televised PL games on both Fridays and Mondays. The main problem with the new deal is that there has been yet another increase in the total number of televised games ( from, I think, 154 to 168). Sadly, we will never go back to all games at 3pm on the Saturday, which most of those of my generation would love to see. My personal view is that Friday evening is better than Monday evening for away fans, if only because many fans don't have to go to work or school on Saturday, but it's definitely a choice of evils.

totally against.this is sky sticking two fingers up to the fans and stating we pay the money we will do what we want!i used to travel extensively around the country and the worst congestion occurs on the m5&m6 and you can double that on a friday so travelling from soton to Manchester would be a nightmare.

What really winds me up about football on TV is the smug commentators and 'pundits' then have the attitude to slag off games as being 'boring' with ramped up sarcasm if they're not continuously end to end.

I'm for it if it's instead of Monday night football, but against it if it's aswell as Monday night football. In either case the matches should be limited to teams who're no more than an hour apart. I'm sure they could easily fill the schedule with matches between London clubs, or North West clubs etc... Having Southampton travel upto Manchester is just plain stupid.
