I would have said Norwich or Newcastle, now I'd go for Burnley or Everton (view at St James' and Goodison is more than offset by the dearth of exceptional boozers in the city centres)

We always make a lot of noise at Leicester. Likewise we did at Villa and West Brom. My fave away day would have to be either Norwich or Newcastle, plenty of watering holes. West Ham was decent but too much of an hassle getting back to Euston.

Good question. I really love them all in different ways but Albion is always fun as I have mates who are Yam Yams. I also love Liverpool/Everton the scousers are great fun and some great pubs.Least favourite is Old Trafford I hate the place and the fans.

Apart from results - Chelsea.. few beers in the Chelsea Potter (oh the irony) on the Kings Road then a walk/ taxi to the ground - usually end up spending a fortune in the Potter drowning sorrows after the game though

I've been interested to ask actually - what do you think of Leicester as an away day guys? Not sure if it's just me but I always wonder what my own team's ground (Leicester) is like for an away day in terms of atmosphere, what it's like in the away end and the stadium itself etc. We get a lot of stick for clap banners which is worrying for me...
In terms of *just* away ends - I like yourselves Stoke, West Brom and Arsenal off the top of my head. Not lying here though, when you sang 'Delilah' back in the 2014-15 season at our place, it was the loudest chant I heard all season, and I was at the other end of the ground. You and Villa were the best in that season.

People say what they like about the chappy inflatable things but it generated a great noise. The stadium was bouncing

The new ground will be virtually next to WHL though.
I like Spurs away..few drinks in Soho or Covent Garden then it's up the Seven Sisters Road.
Went in the Park Lane side many years ago away from the small Stoke contingent in the away section.
Great Away Day.

There's a lot of words said about clappers, I do not use them myself but they have no doubt made our atmosphere excellent since we implemented them. Nice to read your experience and glad you enjoyed it (bar result for you). The stadium bouncing particularly comes after we score - the place & atmosphere is rocking then. The connection last season between our fans and players got us many points, home and away.

I remember going to Filbert Street a few times. What a strange shaped ground that was? One big end and stand two tiny low stands. Away fans were stuck in the corner of the 'home' stand next to the tiny side stand. How times change

That aside the grounds decent, i went the year before when bojan scored, we managed to make a lot of noise that day, cant be too bad of an away day if i decided to go back the year after. After our performance this year i wish i hadnt

Hull (easy logisitics for me) and Burnley (good, old fashioned ground - althought the concourse is very cramped).

What worries me is we've now got a reputation because of using clap banners, which I'm not keen on. At the same time though from my point of view (and the club's point of view), the younger fans seem to like the clap banners, it encourages them to join in with the atmosphere so it's hard to take that away from them. Again the goal music is the same, although at least it's Kasabian from Leicester, so a bit more original. In my ideal world we'd have no clappers, no goal music, and just contiune to create the atmosphere we do at home - we've got the potential to, it's just takes effort. Perhaps now our fan base know what a difference our support makes, we will start to be consistently good at home in terms of atmosphere, I really hope so anyway.

Hi FriendlyLFC, You seem to spend quite a lot of time on here and you are welcome. How does the Oatcake compare with your own forum? Are we more interesting with more topics and informed comments, or do you just find the abuse aimed at each other as well as certain other clubs ( principley Man U, and Arsenal) amusing ? when I have looked at other sites I have always thought that the Oatcake is one of, if not the best.

Another vote for White Hart Lane. Really good view of the action in the away end, especially if you are on the front few rows. Thought it was the best atmosphere of all the away trips last season, would've been incredible if Ireland had connected with that header and we'd won 2-3!

Villa tops it for me As for Leicester........the City is fine & has some good boozers......but the annoying clappers & the twat with the drum next to the away section is really pathetic & very USA shite........

I appreciated the welcome when I first joined given I'm an opposition supporter. I'm a member of FoxesTalk (Leicester's most popular forum) and for me IMO they are both very good forums, have to say. FoxesTalk & Oatcake are probably up there with the best - the layout's are good and content is interesting. From what I've seen, Oatcake has more question based topics, whereas FoxesTalk is not quite as frequent on that.

What are your favourite away days then. We dont do very well at palace but that doesnt mean its a bad ground. I think you based your opinion on us being unable to win there. I based my on the ground and the prices were reasonable considering they are a london club
