Jese needs to make some runs in behind. Shaq looks like he can pick him out.

WTF !!!! What kind of formation are we playing? Same formation. Johnson Indi and Pieters back 3. Diouf and Ramadan wing backs. Oh my that's asking for disaster.

One of my biggest criticisms for Stoke over the years has been just how open we are away from home. Need to show more respect to the opposition and be defensively compact. I'd much rather we try and have a go than do what Tone did and stick ten behind the ball from the first whistle. There's a middle ground between sitting with 10 men behind the ball and being as open as we were in the first half today. You can have a go and play good with ball and also be defensively compact.

Also the other worry is that although we seem to have a strong starting 11. Our bench is really quite weak and there seriously aren't too many options for the manager to change the game.

Newcastle deserved the win but we too missed a couple of guilt-edge chances today. Have to improve defensively away from home. Cannot be so open.

Wasteful from Shaq. He's always got a flash of brilliance in him, but fuck me he's frustrating. He's the only player who has turned up today.

I like Joe Allen but he's far too lightweight for the position he's playing in. Need to bring on Adam in the second half.

Diouf playing like a man just been given a three year contract. Play butland at right wing back, see what happens. Ridiculous management. This comment is pathetic. Diouf has been fabulous at right wing this season. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I think we need to stay calm. The game if far from over and the crowd are certainly up for it today.

Great fellow is our Charlie. Will be remembered as a Stoke great regardless Regardless... Of the fact that he won't be remembered as a Stoke great? Not sure what the general perception is but I certainly will. Has always been one of my favourite players.

People on here are mental. Pieters has been superb this season. Sure he gives the ball away a couple of times and he's not the most gifted footballer but he's been superb defensively and some of his crossing this season has been quality.

He is a very direct player. That sometimes means he'll give the ball away but he's always looking to make things happen. And those who say his workrate isn't good enough need to see today's game. Ran his socks off.

Many a team will struggle to break down that West Brom defence. You can bet that every single team from the top 6 will struggle to get any rhythm going against this stubborn West Brom defense. We struggled to create opportunities today but that's a credit to how resolute the opposition were really. In the end, it was a fair result. Neither team deserved to win the game. I'm not too disappointed with the result and performance today. It's not just about today though is it ! Perhaps not but the OP was referring to today's game. And let's not forget, West Brom are coming off the back of 2 clean sheets so it was always going to be difficult to create too many chances today.

I agree with you but we also had some blistering counter attacks today. Yes the performance was built on solid defensive foundations but there were moments of genuine quality as well. An all round performance.

Apparently Koeman scored more goals than Hughes over his career.... Playing mostly as a defender and playing less total games. And more than the De Boer brothers combined. Edit: beat to the post. 😂😂 Yes Hughes was a big game player and there were few better than him. This game was an example. It was also the only time Hughes and Koeman played against each-other

As I understand it, the top of the table of Premier League managers as players is something like this. Koeman (gap) Hughes Guardiola de Boer Conte (gap) Bilic Pochettino Hughton Beyond that, I don't know how they rank. I think Howe, Dyche, and Pulis had okay careers in the 2nd and 3rd tiers. What about the rest? Such a gap between Koeman and Hughes? Fair enough Koeman's a bit more decorated but I'd say they were similar level players No I think the gap is fair. Let's be honest although Hughes was an amazing player himself, Koeman is an all time great, one of greatest Dutch footballers of all time.

Not bad for a free transfer I guess but I hope some younger players are signed this window otherwise it'll be another of window of serious lack of ambition shown by the club.

Upgrades on Johnson and Pieters would make a huge difference. And....fuck me sideways. The whole back 6 without BMI has been shambolic this season. Awful defending by Shawcross again.
