Feel free to merge admin but now it's official I thought maybe Jon is deserving of a thread of best wishes and thanks.
I've said enough about him down the years.
Suffice to say I'm as gutted as you would expect when one of your favourite ever players moves on.
That said I think the time is right for him and us.
Thanks Jon for your commitment and dedication. You helped give us some incredible experiences and great memories.

Not one of my favourite players, but I respect the effort he has put in!
Thanks Jon and good luck - except against us!
A good deal for all concerned I think

What a servant, wish him all the best.
What he's done for the football club at the price we paid for him is unreal, in the end we could make profit from his service ahah
As if the 5-0 triumph against Bolton wasn't memorable enough his first goal in that game was one of the best for us in recent years.

Please don't merge. He IS deserving of his own thread. He divided certain parts of our fan base at times but you could never question his determination and dedication to the shirt. He always gave his best.
That said, Stoke were good for him also. We were a perfect match.
It is time for him to go but I'm a bit sad tonight. Another part of the old guard has gone.
Cheers Jon and all the best.

Said it on other threads time for him to move but a Legend as far as I'm concerned never the most talented but like Whelan a real players player . I'm sure we can replace their ability but not so sure about their character.

Our top scorer in the Prem right? He could well hang on to that title for a while, although Crouchy's close I think... Cheers Super Jon, I truly hope you play as well against us as you did against Chelsea that time

Not the most talented player in the world but more than made up for that in effort. Make no mistake he scored some crucial goals for us.
A bit like a black(?) James O'conner😁 I bet his antics will be missed in the dressing room.

Pissed blood for Stoke in his time
Never understood why some of the wankers on here gave him so much grief.
Along with Ric & Ryan one of the best Stoke players I've had the privilege to watch over the last 8 seasons.
Gone but not forgotten.
SUPER SUPER JOHN
SUPER JOHNY WALTERS.

He's always chipped in with a few goals and his work rate was beyond belief. Another player who's importance to the club's recent history has gone under appreciated at times and a fantastic role model for any youngsters trying to make it as a pro footballer.
I'm a little disappointed he's gone, but to get any kind of transfer fee for a 33 year old who's main strength is stamina and work rate seems like a sensible enough move. Also it seems like Sobhi will be 2nd choice on the right wing now (or Arnie switched to the right with him on the left) which can only be a good thing.
The best way I can sum his time up at Stoke is he helped us to avoid too much of a negative impact with losing both Fuller and Lawrence. Not many players could fill in 2 positions so effectively in the Premier League, and when you throw in the odd moment like the FA cup semi final, a hat trick and that goal against Chelsea he deserves a lot of credit.

His celebration when David Cameron was re-elected Prime Minister was louder than the recent Tory Rabble cheering the continuing pay freeze of public sector workers (namely the fire fighters, police and nurses who days before had battled against the fall-out from Greenfell Towers blaze). I lost much of the respect I had for Jon after that disappointing announcement and never sang his name since. Having said that, he did battle well for our cause and I thank him for applying his talents to achieve what he did as a Stoke City player.

will show my appreciaton when you turn up at the Bet 365
and love the way you show your utter hatred and absolute contempt for Liverpool, every single time you play them
