Could do with sending some youngsters to them next season, not to far to travel for them. Shenton and Telford.. Great idea.

Brilliant. Congratulations and it's going to be an exciting season with plenty of local games against Villa, B'ham, Derby, Wolves, Forest and maybe Walsall.

Scott Dann all over Shawcross and no penalty. Shawcross leans on their player and its a free kick which they scored from. Inconsistencies

Look what happened to Charlton. It's about converting chances which we struggle with. Buy a Shane Long type of player that can finish and we will be top 8 next year.

Now let's keep 12 on the pitch and put the f****g game to bed Mmmm. Putting games to bed is not our strong point. 12 on the pitch? Good pick up. Is it me or do Stoke look better in white? Throw back to the 70's ??

Imbula sets it up nicely instead of trying to run through the opposition. Great goal and again Arnie the provider

I've not purchased a stoke top for a good few years but that preview of the away top is a bit exciting. If it's as good as speak previews suggest I can see me parting with some cash I'm thinking along the same lines. The Le coq one is still good but about time to catch up. I love the white Le Coq shirt except the badge is way too big.

pre season is hugely important and shouldn't be underestimated. Every player that has struggled with fitness issues this season was blighted by problems in pre-season. It isn't a coincidence. Those that have struggled for form for the most part were those that had no pre-season at all. Shaqiri and Bojan being prime examples. Those that had a full and uninterrupted pre-season have pretty much been our best and most consistent performers...Butland, Whelan and most importantly Arnie who completed a full pre-season for the first time of his spell with us. That foundation is crucial and underpins a clubs whole season in many respects. The results don't matter but we really do need our squad to come through a full pre-season schedule fit and healthy. Then and only then, will we see our squad remain in some kind of tact as the season progresses. Much of Chelsea's poor form was attributed to the lack of a proper pre-season where they returned about 10 days later than normal. Many say that was a massive part of Mourinho's dismissal. The players were "undercooked" and simply couldn't perform at levels that they had been used to. They haven't been able to recover all season long. For a professional football, pre-season is of huge importance. Agreed. If you aren't fit you are playing catch up and can end up with niggling injuries. Pre season games are there to increase fitness but to also give the fringe/young players a go and test formations.

You only have to look at Chelsea's decline this season to see how important a good pre season actually is. I don't doubt there was several other reasons behind their decline this season but poor pre season preparation was definitely one of them. They returned to training later than everyone else, they played only three games before a Wembley Community Shield final and only four before the season started. They lost all of those pre season games, lost at Wembley and then won only one of their opening five league games, losing three. I don't care how relevant the result of a friendly is, winning games breeds confidence and when you are going into a new season on the back of four straight defeats morale is nowhere near as high as it should be. Chelsea played an exhibition game in Sydney so I agree with your comments. Excellent marketing and PR but didn't help their start to the season. I have worked for sporting clubs and the strength and conditioning teams work on a high intensity fitness program pre season and then a maintenance program throughout the season.

Works his socks off but I'd say he is gonski. I agree that he has the knack /skill as has Walters , of getting in the right place at the right time but more often than not misses the opportunity.

The way he kicked the ball away shows he is obviously frustrated with himself. As everybody has said a good pre season will fix things. Much as he frustrates us we need to help him through this difficult time and help him settle in.

It was a penalty. Cameron rushing in as usual. Nobody to blame but ourselves for not finishing the game off. Walters wasn't fit and imbula should have put the game to bed. We paid 18 mill for a bloke with no right foot. Arnies miss in the first half was just as bad. Very unhappy

Has Shaqiri got any studs in his boots? Imbula needs a rest and isn't affecting the game at al. Get Bojan on.

We can't cross the ball from open play, we can beat the first man when crossing from free kicks and we can't pick out a Stoke player from corners. It therefore makes perfect sense to play a 6ft 7" striker. I hope he sticks it up me and gets a hatrick. I would have preferred to see Bojan , Joselu and Shenton.

Yacob is obviously one of those players that gets under your skin and winds people up as he did with Alli and our Geoff .

Bardsley has to play against his old team and even though I prefer Joselu I'd play Diouf and use his pace up front as there defence is slow. I'd also play Muniesa at centre half and man mark Defoe as Wolly is too slow and needs a break. I think we will score late to win 2-1.

Strong and very talented. Needs to work on his shooting although against Bournemouth we have seen he can score . I wish Whelan could also contribute in this area

To be fair I thought Wolly had done okay when I had posted that (before the 4th). Still think Ryan was a whole lot worse. Really? They were all abysmal at the back and Wolly looked like he was in quicksand for the 3rd Cameron at fault for first, Ryan for second and Wolly for third and fourth. Unfortunately there is no alternative . We can still pick up 7 points from last 3 games

Liverpool, Man City and Spurs are three teams bang in form at the moment. To be fair it was unlikely we would get anything from these games but to concede 12 and score 1 was not expected. The biggest disappointment for me over the past month was not putting Swansea away and scoring 4 against them when we deserved to. Today we tried and I think had 14 attempts v Man City's 11. The defence again let us down and Ryan and Wolly look very average but who would you put there to replace them? Let's move on. It certainly can't get any worse.,
