I use a quote in business all the time. ‘Luck happens when opportunity meets preparation ’ That and the harder you work the luckier you get’
We weren’t prepared by losing Zouma and then taking Shaq off but I can’t fault how hard we worked. Ryan was outstanding tonight but for some reason kept charging up the pitch towards the end which IMO meant he ran out of steam when chasing back and wasn’t close enough to Barnes for the goal.

Best they have played for a long time, didn’t deserve to lose but that’s what happens when after 70 mins you decide to hang on for a draw and take your most creative player off. Very very disappointing especially against Burnley who were awful and are siting 4th.. go figure

You take your best player off and expect a result. What a joke. I’d be staying in Burnley tonight. Don’t get the train

From the NBC broadcast - Stoke have not won a top flight away game on a Tuesday night since 1909(?) 53 games 1906 I think.

It's now the main story on the BBC Football page. I was completely stunned by Mark Hughes' response to "some Stoke supporters have also questioned Hughes' future after only four wins from their 16 games so far this season" Mark Hughes - "There's been an undercurrent since I've been here," Hughes said of the flak aimed in his direction He also mentioned the idiot with the 'Hughes out' van when he became manager, what a tool. I was just about to post that as well. He is playing the victim

Why can Warnock do so well in getting teams promoted and then not take them further when in the top league? Look at Cardiff. They were like busted’s a couple of years ago and now sitting in a promotion spot? I’m guessing but with Neil I’d say his man management skills don’t cater for the overseas player and ego. He calls it as he see it which unfortunately isn’t how you need to manage the big squads now.

Hughes strategy is clearly to play his strongest team against the lower teams to get 3 points but hasn’t thought it through as we have been hammered and embarrassed by the top teams .

ABP alert. Anybody but Pulis I’d rather have Hughes and finish 17th than Pulis.

If we lose to Burnley then Hughes will be sacked. The unedifying side to this is that Coates will bring Pulis back on a short term contract. Once Pulis has 'saved' the club he will then be given a further 3 year contract! You read it here first. That would totally ruin my Christmas. I hope you are wrong.

Could anybody drink Tennents extra? My grandad used to work at Bass Worthington and we used to buy beer from the shop. I bought some home once. My god it was strong or another soft? Probably both
