Went with my old man and we left at 4-0, and could still hear the roars for the 5th and 6th goals as we walked back to the car in the pissing down rain. Not a fun trip Remember it well Clarkey. That pub and your Irish Uncle was it? Yes, Uncle Stuart in the Hansworth Afro-Carribean club I think. Shit match, but many pre-game laughs with that fool

Big, big goal. Need to make sure we build on that and secure the three points. I just hope we don’t try to sit on this lead, or things are going to get proper nervy.

He reminds me of Alan Shearer - strong as an ox, aggressive, quick, and direct. Looks like he’s going to do some damage once a few things start dropping for him.

We’re 6 points off the play-offs with 15 games remaining and 45 points up for grabs. He’s just overseen an excellent transfer window and delivered stark improvements over the last few games with essentially half a new team and we’ve still got key players out and a few who are still building back up to full speed after long-term injuries. He’s also offloaded a pile of absolute deadwood that he was lumbered with from previous incumbents, and has been relatively quick to offload any players he himself has brought in that haven’t panned out. He’s stabilized us from an absolute free fall, and for all his faults (he has a few), it’s looking like he’s giving us a side that’s actually enjoyable to watch. Some folks need to calm the fuck down and let the man get in with the job. There’s no reason at all to make any dramatic decisions right now. We’ve got some seriously deluded folk in our fan base who need a fucking reality check. A third of the season left, people are talking it's May already. Even if we didn't make the Play Offs (which I never expected us to by the way) a good finish from this young team gives us momentum, a chance to blood maybe the likes of Forrester and Tezgel, the opportunity to get JPB and THB for another season on loan. There's plenty to play for......... Yeah, that’s another very strong point I. His favor. We’re finally starting to see some quality young lads coming up through the youth ranks and being given an opportunity to stake a claim. It wasn’t too long ago that our squad had an average age that wouldn’t have looked out of place on an 80’s night out up Queens. He’s drastically changed with shrews signings and by bringing lads through from the youth set-up. That can only help when we’re trying to attract lads into the academy set-up, since they can see there is a good chance of breaking through if they deliver the goods. I can’t remember ever having this amount of quality coning through the ranks in my lifetime.

Ye that's the thing that creeps me out the most still. Imagine scoring a last minute goal, having your mental, then after 2 mins of dilly-dallying you find out it's not being allowed. It without doubt takes away from the supporter experience; not being able to truly get lost in the emotion of scoring a goal. Life tilt clear poker expression btw. Or you get 2 mentals when it's not ruled out. You also get the added bonus of the occasional mental to celebrate a last minute opposition equalizer being ruled out. Nowt better than rebelling in a rival team’s misfortune. It’s swings and roundabouts.

i aint crying mate . have no interest in going into the premiership , just amazed how fixated you lot are on Nathan and how terrible to watch Stoke are . If you’ve got no interest in promotion the the Premier League, then Nath is your man. Glad you’re happy with lots of fist-pumping and insane ramblings about diamonds from the mad Messiah. I guess that’s great for a small town club who’s fans are happy with their place. Good luck with the goal of never landing any higher than mid-table in the Championship. Hope Nath nails it for you.

Excellent result and two away wins on the bounce against decent sides. Keeps us right in the play-off mix ahead of the international break - that’s a huge positive after our recent wobble.
It wasn’t pretty, but I’ll take a battling 1-0 away from home against anyone in this division. Knowing Nate will be screaming iblarting on his Bible at bedtime tonight is an added bonus.

Would have preferred sawyers instead of Sawyers shouldn't be on the pitch. Swap for Thompson with vrancic playing would have been spot on for me Aside from one glaring defensive lapse, Sawyers was the best player on the park in the second half of the Sheff Utd game.

Exactly. Over the last decade and a bit the firm fan favourites have been Fuller, N'zonzi, Bojan, Marko and more recently Powell. All of these players were loved because they were/are really fucking good at football primarily. Granted Powell also works his knackers off too. To say we prefer graft over ability and physicality is nonsense and frankly, really fucking patronising. Fonz wasn’t particularly valued until he left. Indeed he was a lazy work shy good for nothing for a long time in the eyes of way too many. And it’s 50/50 with Bojan and Arnie. And even now some of the crap written about Powell boils my piss and it’s from far too big a section than it should. There will always be a few trolls as you well know, but the idea that half our support didn’t appreciate the quality of those three players is just complete horse shit mate.

I do t think Stoke fans laud hard work over technical ability. Ask any Stone fan who they would take fever a choice of Jacob Brown or Ricardo Fuller, and I think you would get a universal answer. It’s ok to appreciate what somebody like Brown brings to the table. Having seen the likes of Jesé, Berahino, Ince and a plethora of other complete fucking wasters over the last half-decade, I think people are just glad to see a player who looks like he would genuinely run through brick walls for the team. He’s also worked to improve with what he has, and while he’s certainly lacking in some quality, he still brings something valuable to the team and has played a big part in our strong start to the season. Not sure why he’s getting the scapegoat treatment at all. Because he’s not a very good footballer and has shown us what we miss up front. It’s pretty sad to be honest, and it’s indicative of the mindset of a small section of our fan base who seem intent on tearing players down.

There isn't a fuss is there? Nobody is elevating Brown above what he is. Myself and I suspect others just object to him being described as useless, fucking wank, the worst player we have ever had and not even worth a quid. Hard work and effort to make up for a lack of technical ability is fairly universally applauded in all walks of life, I'm not sure why you this only applies to Stoke fans. If its not something that you admire personally, that's fine of course. I think they are. People are saying he should be one of the first names on the team sheet and stuff like that. If Surridge can find some form, for me Brown shouldn’t be in the match day squad when all the strikers are fit. A big if as things stand admittedly. I think Stoke fans laud it over technical ability tbh. I don’t think Stoke fans laud hard work over technical ability. Something happened tonight far greater than the 3 points I believe - I saw the team realise that we are genuine contenders in this league. The reaction at the end from the team was a realisation that with this support they are good enough to be in the mix this time. They also saw for the first time the affect that a noisy home crowd can give to them, and the part that we can play. They felt that 12th man tonight, and many of those players haven’t felt that before. They realised that connection tonight. Before tonight I feel many of the team and supporters thought we hadn’t the ability to match teams like West Brom. We were a Nearly team. We totally bossed that match and everyone saw it and now I think they realise we have the quality required. The switch was turned on tonight. No longer a Nearly team. We can be top 2 and I think the players know that now. WE ARE BACK Yes but we need to do it every week. There isn’t a team in this league that can perform at the top of their game, every week over a 46 game season - especially in a league as competitive as the Championship. It just doesn’t happen. There will be plenty of slip ups, and that’s ok as long as we can bounce back and keep grinding out some results when we inevitably hit a couple of bad patches. We’ve already seen this season that we’re capable of grinding out results when we’re not playing well, and we’ve also seen some superb performances like last night, and away at Swansea. We’re almost a quarter way into the season, and the only real disaster of a performance was at Derby. If we can maintain the type of form we’ve seen in the first eleven games over the entire season, we’ll comfortably make the play-offs. If we can improve it slightly, we’ll be in with a decent shout of taking one of the automatic spots. You don’t need to be at the top of your game every single week to win this division.

Fantastic result and a very solid performance. Should have been out of sight and our finishing needs to improve, but we're looking like a proper side again after a few years of complete dross. And somebody please figure out how to solve the penalty issue - it's beyond a joke at this point and needs fixing.
