Van Dijk is loving Crouch. He loved Diouf didn't he? All game. We looked more threatening in the last 5 minutes than we did all game. Anyway you crack on with your silly little agenda

Our best aerial threat is Crouch. Hence him being the leading scorer of headers in Premiership history. We know you illogically hate him but please Mame is better in the air. I know it's hard for you to take but hey ho. Look at the headed goal tallies this season. Mame is better in the air????You crack on. Hilarious

Mame our best aerial threat. Baffling he hasn't played more this season. Hopefully they'll put some decent crosses in for him or follow in on his flick ons. Our best aerial threat is Crouch. Hence him being the leading scorer of headers in Premiership history. We know you illogically hate him but please

We are not Barcelona. We are not even Stokealona. We're not technically good enough to play like that.FFS Hughes at least mix it up a bit.

Backwards and sideways.Sideways and backwards. We are making the worst team in the league look good and they're gaining in confidence. If John Walters is our best centre forward option I give up.There are three better on the bench.

Barton seriously thinks hes important and everyone believes his re-invention as a philosopher when in reality he's just a little Huyton street rat who got jailed for punching a kid outside Mcdonalds.

Crouch

Let's be honest there are a lot of 'experts 'on here who just don't like Crouch as a player. Not unusual. His build etc mean a lot of people over the years haven't had the vision to see what a quality forward he is.It's a game of opinions so that's fair enough. What is slightly disappointing is the faux tactical reasons people have used to justify that opinion. Most of which are utter nonsense. Or is it that there are many people on here simply too thick to understand arguments that are not black and white? Or some that just justify their prejudice any way they can.

Yes I think we can safely say that today's man of the match;'fits the system'.There was a thread on here last week laughing at people for suggesting him for England. Then of course there are the 'experts'who say he cant lead a line on his own.The Kenwyne lovers who felt he offered so much more than Crouch.I do love it when a player by their performances prove the cynics and naysayers abysmally and utterly wrong.

The media love Carroll.Crouchy had a great season for us,player of the year,14 goals.Carroll came in, played two games after being injured all season and went to the Euros!

Carroll would not have scored the 'goal'(credited to Odemwingie)that Crouch did on Saturday or any of the spectacular volleys Crouch has over the years. Carroll as you say is a big awkward lump and undeniably effective in the air.He has a dreadful touch and would be exposed at international level.Class footballer like Crouch -he isn't.

Crouch's agility has proved over the years with spectacular goals that he isn't a 'big awkward lump' of course.Goals that Carroll could only dream of scoring.

Peter Crouch. 86 premiership goals.22 in 40 appearances for England.Andy Carroll? 28 premiership goals IN TOTAL!.Crouch is the same player he's always been. He's like Sheringham.Never had any pace to lose .His goalscoring frankly has diminished due to the quality of service. If he was still playing for Liverpool and England I suspect his return would be the same. However that shouldn't put off those with an agenda criticising him everytime a poster praises him! God forbid. Crouch has played loads more games than Carroll hasn't he though? He's right years older for starters. Not a massively fair comparison. Can you honestly see Carroll ever getting a I in 2 ratio for England and scoring in a world cup finals?Or scoring in the San Siro or playing in a champions league final?
