Having a pop at Hughes again... Joseph Barton ?@joey7barton 57m April Fools... www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/stoke-city/10730322/Mark-Hughes-Please-dont-judge-me-on-12-games-at-QPR.html … If its any consolation for Mark, I judge him on Fulham and Man City as well... James Moulden ?@jamesmoulden1 32m @joey7barton what about an incredible 4 years at Blackburn? Joseph Barton ?@joey7barton 26m @jamesmoulden1 same as Stoke inherited a solid team from Souness like he has from Pulis. Royally messes up with his own recruitment. People thinking I hold a grudge against Hughes. I don't. He was the one who let me go to Marseille after all. What I don't like is people shifting the blame. How dare he say what he has said in that interview. The club/board backed him to the hilt. Gave him everything he ever asked for. Fans backed him to the hilt. He hired his 'mates' (Rigg/Kia) to advise on players. His signings. Who took the club down. Why? Lack of professional pride and discipline. IMO. He will claim he kept us up the year. He never. Warnocks team. I reiterate, players he signed took the club down. Why I am ranting at this interview? Because he is trying to get away from the truth. We are all now here trying to clean up his mess. The players/staff/board and fans. He inherits Tony Pulis team, a good solid team and now.. ..he thinks he's the bees knees. Nah mate, you're not shifting blame. Not on my watch. Accept you failed. Accept your to blame. Be humble and apologise to a club you left in a hell of a worse situation than when you came. Can't wait for my book...????

Try not to wish bad luck on anyone, but with this bell end Barton, can't wait to see him blow his dough up his nose and end up penniless and dipping the bins in Liverpool...Complete and utter toss pot of the highest order...In fact...I am angry with myself for wasting time writing about the cunt...

If Joey Barton hates Mark Hughes it makes me like Hughes all the more.
I presume he is playing for free these days and is refusing to take his grossly inflated salary in his bid to "clean up the mess".

This is almost as funny as Arsenal fans who believed they would win the league this season. Not quite though.

A fucking average midfielder and an absolute cunt to boot. I'm sure Hughes is devastated that he's not on Joey Barton's Christmas card list.

Wow, erm I don't know what to say reading that.
What I will say is what I've said all along, letting Barton go was Mark Hughes biggest mistake at QPR because I actually agree with him that QPR's squad lacked any pride whatsoever. Mercenaries picking up their pay who didn't really care.
That said, what's he on about inheriting a solid team. Yes, a solid team who nearly went down last season. No surprise that Hughes signings have been a hit, Odemwingie, Arnautovic, Pieters, even Muniesa. He's also made players we already had even better. Can anyone genuinely say they thought Glenn Whelan would have played as well as he has this season? Most people on here wanted him fucked off to the Championship. Glenn is playing the best football of his career. He's playing the right position for his abilities and that is down to Hughes.
It's a shame, because I genuinely think Barton's abilities would suit Stoke, but I just can't deal with his attitude. It's depressing to think a 31 year old can act so immaturely. He's a father now. When does he decide to grow up?

Barton seriously thinks hes important and everyone believes his re-invention as a philosopher when in reality he's just a little Huyton street rat who got jailed for punching a kid outside Mcdonalds.

Shouldn't the players have this regardless of who the manager is though?
He HAS inherited a team not of his making. I think he's missing an important point though. Hughes has placed most of the players in their favoured positions hasn't he? What he seems to be conveniently ignoring is the fact that 'that' team had gained a bad rep with the last incumbant and now Stoke City are gaining a new sense of respect by the media, even if sometimes, it's through gritted teeth.
If there was ever a player that needed a huge dose of professional pride it's Mr. Barton. Even Vinny Jones had more the Barton ever will.

Messes up his own recruitment?. Every signing he's made so far has been excellent. Apart from maybe Guidetti.

Very good point. He is simply a parasite on society. I shudder to think he could have a career in the media once his playing days have finished.

fair enough, Barton can have that opinion if he wants....... just out of interest, did Barton personally apologise to the fans about getting them relegated? oh no that's right, after Hughes came in and said Barton would remain captain he promptly put in such a bad performance that the QPR fans booed him off the pitch and he then slagged off the QPR fans for doing so and then on the last day of the season when they had to either not lose to Man City or hope our result went their way what did he do? on the most important day in the club's recent history where they desperately needed every player to be at 200% in terms of commitment and dedication.....he got sent off and then started a pub brawl on the pitch. odious little wanker who will only ever be remembered by any football fan in years to come as a thug and a bully and not by any achievement whatsoever relating to his actual footballing ability. cock! it's really simple Joey...if you wanted to stay up then your squad had the talent and ability to do it but unfortunately you were all aboslute ego maniacs who just wanted a pay packet, weren't there when your team needed you because you always fucking suspended and no-one gavea shit because they all thought "Fuck it, QPR may go down but i'm off anyway" hence so many players smiling on the pitch after the final whistle had relegated you to the Championship. yes, Hughes has to take some of the blame but when this how your players look 5 minutes after going down then i think most people know full well where the blame ultimately should lie.....
