Don,t see him coming back to be honest he was quite upset with the abuse he got from a certain sections of our support. I cannot back that up with facts its just something i overheard from a member of his family who sat very close to me in block 3.

I do not get all this blame towards Scholes he only does what Coates allows him or tells him to do. The buck stops with Coates he owns the club & he calls the shots. The rot started when Hughes was allowed to stay on at least a season longer than he should have & that was down to Coates being to loyal when everybody could see were we heading. Its disgraceful the way the Coates family have allowed things to come to this purely through bad decisions & lack of ambition at vital times. Coates dilly-dallied in sacking Hughes, which meant that no decent manager would step in at that time and risk a relegation on their CV, so we were left with someone equally desperate in Lambert. Hughes should have had his cards after the 1-4 hiding at Palace which woud have given his replacement practically a full season and a window. The likes of Arnie were replaced by cheap dross like Choupo-Motting. The promised 'root and branch' change after relegation didn't happen. The sheer arrogance of Peter Coates in saying his famous quote, and almost certainly thinking that we would have enough to stay up, by underestimating the teams coming up- the likes of Huddersfield and Brighton. Yes, four years of complete and unhindered decline lie at the feet of one man, but it's not like he hasn't got previous is it? For all the good the family (Coates) have done for the city & for the club in some respects they have made a complete disaster of running the football club in the last 4 to 5 years its been one bad decision after another bad player recruitment bad manager recruitment. For all there millions they sure now how to spend it badly & waste a legacy that could have been so different. We need a fresh owners with vision & ambition & proper plan to take us forward if not are demise will continue.

To have any chance or glimmer of hope the next two games have to be won nothing less than 6 points or we are sunk. For all the good work MON has done by getting us out of the bottom 3 i think he has been found out in the last 2 games team selection & tactics have been very poor.

Lets face it we are just not good enough & deserve to go down. What did Coates say recently he had every confidence that we would be ok. Who have you been watching Peter it cannot have been Stoke.

I am starting to question MON after this team selection he has done well but the last two games his selections & tactics leave alot to be desired.

We will lose this game middesbrough 2-0 they will defend deep 10 men behind the ball & hit us on the break. Crafty manager Warnock & we do not have the players for a scrap. Hope i am wrong & he has not had time to drill them in the finer arts of cheating & game spoiling which goes hand in hand with Warnock.

So we are assuming that we are staying up. Lose on Saturday which is a very probable now Mr Warnock has been appointed & our not to good showing at Reading last weekend & we are back in deep shit. I hope that i am wrong but Saturdays game has now become alot more tricky before Warnock i was very confident of 3 points.

What some basement division fans think hardly really an issue for me Am always a bit baffled when some talk about the great days under Macari etc, sure we won the title but the bottom line is we were in the 3rd tier of football on a level playing field with teams like Stockport. Was great winning so many games but a reality check showed how far we'd dropped. I felt we were heading back there the next season either way when he left with our end of season form and we did of course .Thing now is we seem to be confident and heading up rather than down but things could be interesting with the break but sure we're going to be closer to mid table than the bottom come the last game Southampton were in a mess not so long back, things can change quickly as we've also seen with Wolves who were struggling under Zenga not so long back. A few fans on Twitter or whatever won't worry me Macari did get us into the play offs of the championship losing to Leicester over 2 legs he was a very good manager who if he had stayed with us could have got us to the premier league a lot sooner than we did.

Its going to be a rollercoaster of a ride these last 9 games if we cannot get 3 wins & a draw out of the remaining games we deserve to go down.

3 wins & a draw to be sure of staying up. Somebody may go down on a very high points total if things carry on from were we left off.

I was in what they called the scoreboard end that day & there were thousands of Stoke fans all over old trafford. You can here the chant of City just before Greenhoff scores. Its a day i remember well as me & my mate missed our coach back to Stoke & had to hitch it. Great days & yes we beat them again after beating them in the league cup.

Reading nothing to play for but Bowen will probably see this game as sticking two fingers up to Coates & scholes making it a tricky fixture.

Not all teams will react well to playing in empty stadium Leeds & West brom could suffer as the crowd could play a huge part in getting them over the line. At the bottom its anybodys guess its probably best to be playing mid table sides with nothing to play for & will be thinking about next season.

As a pair Overson & Cranson would take some beating. Never played at the top level together though. But for me Smith & Bloor have to be top of my list.

Crouch needs to be careful he was a very good player & i loved him at Stoke but that last night was cringeworthy. Does he really need to be involved in shit tv like that he could ruin everything else he has ever done.

Hey Potters I felt it might be fun (and perhaps a little uplifting in the current situation) to reflect on some of the incredible names we had in our squad in the Premier League. Basically, what would our best/most famous starting 11 be, if we had each player in their prime (not necessarily when they were with us)? Disregarding tactics/how well they played together, just focusing on the individual names. I'll go for: Gudjohnsen Owen Shaqiri Bojan Allen Nzonzi Pieters Huth Shawcross Johnson Butland Honourable mentions: Crouch, Afellay, Tuncay, Moses, Bony, Arnautovic, Begovic Who have I missed?! Etherington has to be in there very underated player & did a really good job for us.

I am surprised he has turned back to management after what happened here he looked totally destroyed towards the end. In fact i thought if it had gone on much longer he was in danger of a full on breakdown.

I read tonight that a second peak is almost a certainty & could be a lot worse than what we have seen already. Its predicted to hit us as winter sets in around November time. If thats the case it could be a very long time before we get to visit any football grounds again.

If next season is to start late and this season allowed to finish then the League Cup must be scrapped for the season although personally think should have been binned a long time back. I guess you could argue that pre season could become the finish to the season as long as we're talking in the foreseeable future. So you are saying the league cup should have been scrapped years ago the only major trophy we have ever won.

Will we ever see such scenes again in the near future or ever again. Our fall from the top table was tragic it could have been avoided so easily.

I said on another thread a few weeks back some teams will adapt better than others to playing in empty stadiums. Without a crowd games could feel a bit like training sessions or pre season friendlies which could make a mockery of promotion & relegation issues.

The Vic should have been redeveloped instead of spending all of that money on the pile of shit stadium we have now The Wolves managed to do it even though it took years & they now have one of the best stadiums in the country.
