How would you feel?
I'd be even more gutted, would feel a bit unjust as well even though we will have ended up with less points. There would always be that feeling that the fans would have made a difference.
Finishing this season off is a big mistake in my opinion and it'll become apparent when they realise how wank the games are with no fans watching them.

I’d think it’s a game of football and wouldn’t give a shit , as I’d be worried more about how many more ppl will die from the virus

I think people would soon be pissed off about it despite the current crisis of course being more important. That is why I’d rather suspend the league now and be done with it. Then when the time is right a new season, in whatever form it takes, can be looked forward to rather than looking forward with apprehension to what is still a steaming pile of shit with too much of a chance it could still go badly wrong.

I said on another thread a few weeks back some teams will adapt better than others to playing in empty stadiums. Without a crowd games could feel a bit like training sessions or pre season friendlies which could make a mockery of promotion & relegation issues.

I shouldn’t spend too much time worrying about this, the season will be declared null and void and we will be safe thanks to Michael imo. Onwards and upwards, hopefully and eventually, now we have a proper manager. And yes, I do realise in the greater scheme of things there are much more important things than football.

Some of us are able to think of more than one thing at a time, even if it is just for a bit of escapism.

All this nothing else matters talk, yes is a virus and terrible times but it doesn't mean nothing else matters as the often predictable responses claim when some ask the question. it's not the most important thing but should we just forget about everything else? Of course not

I agree I think football behind closed doors is absurd and quite pathetic. It's like a gig without an audience. It's just a completely hollow experience. Fans are part and parcel of the game, without them there is no point. They might as well play it out on FM20 online.

How many players would lose an edge from playing in front of an empty stadium and how many would bring their A grade training pitch game without the 'pressure' of playing in front of 20k?

The question was "if the season finished behind closed doors".
That implies that the issues we currently face in the world haven't completely gone away (or it wouldn't be behind closed doors) so yes, i can totally see why people wouldn't really give a shit when people were still dying.
It's callled perspective mate.

Normally we have a good crowd and that lifts the players.
However over the past couple of years our current players havent enjoyed the crowd on their backs very much.
As long as MON can get them motivated, I reckon they might play with a bit more freedom.

people will never stop dying. around 600000 die EVERY YEAR in the UK. We dont all stop everything and not give a shit about anything else for those poor soles. Now THAT is perspective! That is true, but we don't have lockdowns for months on end usually and that WILL have had a major impact on a lot of people's mindsets, as everyone is impacted because of it and therefore far more aware of how trivial things like this really are in the grand scheme of things. I think it's pretty essy for most to understand that the global situation at present is going to put a lot of people in a completely different frame of mind than they usually are. It will have affected them on a personal basis due to being locked down (regardless of whether they personally knew any victims) so they're going to look at things differently. I personally would be gutted if we went down, but i don't think anyone can really criticise anyone else for not really giving a shit, when many will have had weeks/months of not seeing loved ones, knowing loved ones have been ill/died etc. Many people's priorities in life are now different given the current situation, and many people's priorities will change permanently after this. The current situation is absolutely nothing like the every day experience of most in this country. People tend to base their decisions on things that affect them (humans are selfish like that). Most deaths in this country don't affect everyone else and therefore people aren't as aware of them. This situation is affecting everyone however, so people are far more aware, are scared on a daily basis for weeks and weeks on end and that will have a massive effect on some people.

Better than a decision to let just the half season table decide I guess, as that would take us down as being rock bottom! I think you'd need to cancell the whole season or finish it, nothing in between will be right in my opinion.
