Players on the way up not on the way down please. Players with hunger and ambition, not has been after one last pay off at the ST4 Retirement Home & Treatment Centre
At least Barnes looks like he's Norwich bound

Hanley has Betty's Burgers and Greggs, what more do you want after you've had an artisan Strongbow in the Tontine?

Bournemouth more attractive than Stoke? In what metric please? They're a traditional lower league club punching massively above their weight in an 11k capacity stadium They've become en-vogue these past few years almost "fashionable" in a well-heeled county and have become media "plucky underdog" darlings - Eddie Howe love-in - very well funded and backed - Southern clubs seem to be more attractive over provincial midland / northern towns outside of Liverpool & Manchester..... Well Eddie Howe manages Newcastle (in the north) these days. If it was as simplistic as you're making out then Ryan Reynolds and his mate would have bought Torquay Utd (southern, nice coastal views) over Wrexham.

The geography doesn't help, if the train station, city centre, university and festival park were all within a mile or so of each other that would have been so much more helpful. But alas. It's a shame nothing's been done canalside near China Garden in terms of bars/places to eat. It's right in the middle of Newcastle and Hanley, close to several big offices/employers, Odeon and that newish housing estate that must attract people with decent incomes.

of course it would only one of many issues though I don't know a single person who would catch the bus in to town on a night out. Not one. Well I wouldn't as if I go anywhere around here it's Newcastle which requires a taxi rather than multiple buses and a journey time that's longer than a flight to Amsterdam!

Bournemouth more attractive than Stoke? In what metric please? They're a traditional lower league club punching massively above their weight in an 11k capacity stadium They are in the prosperous south of England They are a premier League club They are in a nice part of the world, lots of lovely houses costing millions and overlooking the Dorset coast for players on premier League wages to buy. They have higher revenue than us . They are in a part of the country likely to experience economic growth and population growth They have a better squad than we do ...our best player this season, Pearson was on loan from them..there squad is so much better than ours , they don't need him. They are currently in the Premier League, of course they have a better squad and bigger revenue than us (most Championship clubs have better squads than us right now) 😃 It won't last forever. Using that logic, we're a bigger club than Sheff Weds as we palmed Lee Gregory off to them. The rest of your post about cliffs and the prosperous south is completely irrelevant, based on that Truro City should have suitors queueing around the block. Stoke might not be aesthetically pleasing but it's relatively close to several big cities, Cheshire etc

Bournemouth more attractive than Stoke? In what metric please? They're a traditional lower league club punching massively above their weight in an 11k capacity stadium I’d love to know how any of those clubs are better “in terms of records and success” as well. With the arguable exception of Leicester they’re just small to middling clubs who’ve won fuck all just like us. You’d have to be committed to something approaching self-loathing to distort Luton and Bournemouth into rampant historical success machines compared to Stoke. And Leicester were hardly habitual winners before the Thai takeover- in fact they were the poor East Mids relation compared to Forest and Derby.

Brighton? Brentford? Luton? Bournemouth? Wolves? Leicester? Palace? Not sure I get the point you’re making - most of these made decent foreign manager appointments when it mattered - but Leicester in free fall, Wolves, Bournemouth and Palace struggling and Luton one of those odd exceptions……sadly all more attractive propositions to new owners than Stoke both logistically and in terms of records of success……… Personally I wouldn’t trade the Coates ownership for any other as they are part of the fabric of the club - folks seriously suggesting new owners should be found are deluded - I look at Hull, Cardiff, Blackburn and others who have had ownership nightmares and wouldn’t want to see us throwing the baby out with the bath water…. Bournemouth more attractive than Stoke? In what metric please? They're a traditional lower league club punching massively above their weight in an 11k capacity stadium

….. they definitely make the best butter though. An aside, Carlsberg is like drinking that Aussie piss Fosters. Does anyone still actually drink it in the Uk? It's what I call driving lager. Four of them and you'll be fine

The whole country should sue the Danes for making and selling inadequate lager beer and promoting it as probably the best in the world They still haven't paid back the gold from the raid on Lindisfarne in 793! Reparations now!

I don't see how we could sustain a big arena. We can't build a 10k one, see it struggle to attract acts (which it inevitably would) and then shrug and go 'oh well'. We'd just spunked tens of millions up the wall. We're too close to Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, Nottingham and not far from Sheffield/Leeds. What can we offer that they can't? Oatcakes? The public transport system being a joke too doesn't help, not to mention the train station being as far away as it is from the supposed arena location. We can't tell strangers to the city to just walk through Hanley Park (you had people telling those who had come to watch the Lionesses to 'just walk from Trentham to the ground' when their bus didn't turn up). I'd prefer a convention centre if we had the money to develop something. I just think we have too many problems and are looking for some major things to make them go away, whether it'll be a tram, arena, etc. Go to a decent city and the bars and restaurants are bustling at night time, Hanley just seems to switch the lights off at 9pm. Not that there's much on late anyway- Reflex? Fuck that. It doesn't help when a lot of major bus routes in the city stop operating between 7-9pm either. Before, you could decide to go out last minute and get a bus after 10pm into town, not so much now. And if you're travelling in on your own to meet people from somewhere like Biddulph, you don't want to have to pay north of £20 for taxis before you've even bought a pint.

Why can't you, sorry? Has someone else overseen the decline? Has someone else been appointing the managers who've signed the players? and how many of those managers were you unhappy with from day 1 when appointed Paul Lambert for starters. A catastrophic appointment that we've yet to recover from

Well we've been in Charlton's current position more than once under the Coates Family so it's hardly untrodden territory. A better couple of questions are why couldn't we have been more like Burnley following relegation, and is our narrow minded obsession with cookie cutter British managers holding us back? I cannot argue with them points mate your dead right but like I said it could be worse And it could be better mate.

How many fans/supporters would shed a tear if they said (the Coates family) we have had enough we have decided to sell the club. Not many I would say judging by the mood & the last few years of complete crap we have all put up with. But, but, but there’s free away travel and frozen ST’s prices..... Frozen ticket prices for the last seven years is the least they can do given the fare on offer

Not sure how you've reached that conclusion as Bradford currently inhabit a division we've never played in The point I was making was we could end up doing a Bradford without the family, Bradford where in the prem league a few years back and slid down the leagues, perhaps Charlton would suit you better seen has your not picking Well we've been in Charlton's current position more than once under the Coates Family so it's hardly untrodden territory. A better couple of questions are why couldn't we have been more like Burnley following relegation, and is our narrow minded obsession with cookie cutter British managers holding us back?

Shocking appointment but not the worst in our history Jones, Ball, Jordan, Kammy, Little all worse Little was a bit of a coup when we got him. On paper that was a decent appointment. There is a common denominator with all of those appointments though.

Of the thousands of managers around the world, we picked him. Just shows you the vision and ambition of these owners. As I've said before, if Denise had nothing to do with bet365 they'd still be based in a portakabin and smaller than William Hill

I agree they aint done very well the last few years but unless I am mistaken they did help to get us promoted and kept us there for 10 years. Without the family this club would be down there with the Bradfords etc Not sure how you've reached that conclusion as Bradford currently inhabit a division we've never played in
