Butland very unlucky with the rebound, appeared to hit him in the face. Commentator was very harsh though! I'm afraid not unfortunately. He was slow to react and was extremely weak when he got there.

It's fairly obvious. He and they are not Labour, Conservative or LibDem and have never been part of a UK government so aren't tarred with the anti-politics brush to anything like the same degree. That's how they appear different to voters, and that's enough for some people, especially those not particularly interested in politics/fed up with the same old same old/genuinely interested in leaving the EU. But look into it beyond the headline policies and they'll not be so different. We'll have to wait and see what other policies they come out with closer to the general election. At present they're doing what Cameron did last time and saying nowt until it gets closer! cant wait to see how his new found voters react to UKIPs flat rate income tax proposals @ 33% . If the tories suggested this we would have riots on the streets as we did with the poll tax Yes but we will have lovely new aircraft carriers and attack bombers thanks to the income being spent on a 40% increase in defence spending which will be paid for thanks to the universally popular destruction of the national health and welfare structures. Should all play well to the electorate in a General Election. In fairness to some of the people advocating a vote for UKIP they don't know these things are proposed by the party. Not that ignorance is an excuse when agitating for support.

I think the point is that UKIP have (deliberately or not) appealed to the racist elements in this country. That is exactly why you and tiny minority of other long standing racist brothers who use this message board are all over this thread. The good news is that they have helped wipe out the BNP and EDL in an election in which they usually thrive. Are you actually a moderater on here Mark? I expect that kind of shit off the usual idiots on here. ...... but surely you should be setting standards not lowering them! (Apologies if you're not a mod and just a sad wannabe). With respect to you, I doubt you understand some of the history of a few of the posters I am referring to and the damage they tried to do to and via this message board. I don't need any lectures about standards. The standard any other of the moderators will enforce is zero racism. Feel free to be as sanctimonious about that as you wish. It is the way it is going to be.

Dear fucking god.....I've heard it all now WAFC Just laugh at him mate. I find it the best way to deal with tools like him. Are you denying it? Do you think I haven't got a memory? You can call me a tool all day long but it isn't me who judges people by the colour of their skin or where they were born. You have years of posting history showing you to be the type of person who does just that. If it isn't Asians, it is eastern Europeans. You were part of the invasion of racists that infected this message board that we cleared out years ago. You were particularly infamous for making up stories about attacks on English girls by Asians. Are you calling me a liar? Call me a tool all you like but I have all the history I need to know you are an inadequate individual afraid of anyone and anything that is slightly different to you. My point is undeniable and Frasier knows it. It is underlined by the like of you and another couple of long standing racially prejudiced posters attaching themselves to the UKIP flag. I doubt very much in fairness that Farage wants people like you voting for them to his credit. He has already distanced himself from the French Looney Tunes and made it clear he will not be making any alliance with them. I guess that disappoints you?

Do you think then mumf the uk electorate deserves an in out referendum. Do you think it is that simple? My analysis is that there is a clear message that the federalism has gone too far, too quickly for most people's tastes (including mine). Clearly a number of people have voted UKIP who wish for a complete withdrawal from the EEC and for far darker reasons but they were the party of choice for people who are concerned by this aspect and wanted to register a vote. To interpret it as a call for a referendum asking the in/out question is far too simplistic, surely? The alternative (which I took) was not to vote at all rather than vote for what the majority in the UK find completely unacceptable (right wing extremism) and it is this abstention that sends the clearest message as it was the overwhelming majority of the UK electorate. Alth0ough I have concerns about some of the federal aspects of the EEC it doesn't mean I want the country to commit suicide and withdraw. The general swing to the more extreme parties across Europe was as predictable as the day is long. The popularity of extremism always rises in line with the prevailing economic climate. Given the continent has been widely gripped by austerity economics for years it is no surprise.

Looks like nick griffin is gone. Im watching Neil Hamilton tell us that although the bnp was a racist party they did attract a lot of votes from normal working class people who were frustrated with the main parties and that ukip had won them. Some truth in that Id go further. Given that the Liberal Democrats, the traditional go to party for mid-term have lost their identity and credibility via their coalition with the Tories and associated back tracking on their principles, the protest voter has had no where else to turn other than UKIP. You have to hand it to UKIP, they have exploited this very well by fixing a position where they have narrowed down the blame for the protestor's to focus on as the EEC and immigration. They have also successfully tied the two together. Their problem will come when the General Election comes around and they have to publish their manifesto and reveal their full range of views across the spectrum. They will be particularly exposed by their ultra right wing economic policies that would make even the most radical Tory blush. I suspect you will find that Mr Mondeo Man will be an awful lot less interested in ramblings about Bongo-Bongo Land when it comes down to electing his Government, As the Liberal Democrats and similar parties have found down time, they will simply not be trusted when it really comes down to it.

It is a bad state of affairs..you're quite right but the consequences of 'going it alone' are long gone. The simple economics of it are well publicised. It's not down to a matter of opinion or 'I think' it's a fact of life I'm afraid. I'm not happy with it , but I realise there is no viable alternative. If there was then I'd be the first to advocate it. If you just consider what the financial sector of London alone is worth to this country then no one would be arguing the toss on this matter. Giving THE ELECTORATE the choice is akin to asking a mechanic which plastic surgeon he would recommend to change a Cam-belt. Giving the electorate THE CHOICE is not the important bit.....It's making the right decision as to it's consequences. You have to get it right. If you get it wrong then the abyss beckons...Financial meltdown & Economic collapse ensues. The END. what is the point of giving the uk public a choice to vote at all then? If they are only allowed to chose a party that eventually want more Europe, or a party that want more Europe really quickly? Are we really supposed to surrender our democratic voting rights for us to eventually be governed by a German ruled undemocratic Europe ? We are being scared into believing that big business will not want to do business with us if we leave Sure they may not want us to go it alone but, don't think for one minute that they will turn their backs on what they get from us Business is business Why do you think Russia isn't getting punished the way it could? We should not be scared Our financial sector is in the crosshairs for Europe right now And we are nowhere near the centre of EU The other groups within the EU would never let us reform....they despise the idea of us cherry picking They call it "undemocratic"..... Ironically They are fucking us up day by day week by week year by year until we are no more than Greece Why should we be herded like sheep into a small pen when there's open fields to graze on.....yes there's a wolf or two to deal with but we should not be afraid Europeans are not the best people to govern the United Kingdom We should and could trade with Europe without the political shit they have now So we are to conclude that Europe, otherwise known as "they" are apparently ganging up to screw Britain? I assume it is the same "they" that we happen to have been working together with in varying forms of co-operative agreement since 1973 officially and from 1948 effectively? Yet the suggestion is that "they" have us in "crosshairs" and are "fucking us up day by day"! Is the suggestion there that Britain has been railroaded or bullied into accepting the development of this evil empire? Are we to seriously consider ourselves an outside element that the rest are trying to destroy rather than a part of a relationship we have willingly signed up for and helped to mould?. Has there not had to be compromises by ALL involved but that is actually what happens in any relationship of any kind? Have the mainstream political parties not rushed to offer within their manifestos the option to withdraw from this community by dint of some form of a conspiracy rather than considering the costs and benefits? Is the fact that we have within that community a Greece and a Germany not proof positive that the destiny of the constituent parts is in their own hands. One appears to have flourished and one has fucked up badly or is that the result of another conspiracy? Are we meant to believe that within our own democracy that all decisions and actions are carried through by elected representatives? What are we supposed to believe the House of Lords and the Civil Service are all about not to mention the tiers of local government officials or is that to be deemed acceptable because most of them happen to be white British? Are we really to believe that "they" are preventing and frustrating reform of the European Parliamentary systems despite the on going and incremental reforms that are continually taking place? The ones that an apparently marginalised UK are playing a leading part in forming? Is it implied that there is a mistaken belief among those that prefer us to remain part of a united Europe that withdrawal from the community would immediately bring down the shutters in trade with the remaining nations? Is it a suggestion that such people actually believe that if this country produces something desired by any of the member states that we will be somehow disallowed to trade or is it confusing the fact that many people recognise that membership of the community allows us to compete on a much more level playing field than we would encounter by not being a member? Are we to ignore the restrictive practices operated in many major markets (the alternative "grazing" fields) that means that trade with them in replacement of or supplementary to the markets we operate in now is far more difficult? Are we not supposed to be affected by the most extreme of these that happen to be the USA, Russia and China? Are these the "wolf or two" we are going to deal with?Perhaps we are meant to be comforted by the opportunities offered once more by Farage's "Bongo-Bongo Land? Are we really to assume the restricted actions taken thus far against a country like Russia for its annexation of a part of Ukraine is a reliable or relevant indicator of the potential impact of a UK withdrawal from participation in the European Community? Is there not any difference for example between the self dependency of the two nations given that Russia is pretty well a continent in its own right with resources both natural and human to match? There is most certainly plenty of "scare stuff" being banded around by political organisations who are advocating isolation but I'm yet to be persuaded any of it has enough foundation or thought behind it to persuade me that it would be a good idea to risk a vote for a party that has so many other dangerous policies, none of which they or its supporters actually want to discuss. Extreme policies that could fundamentally damage the working majority in this country on whose fears they want to play and exploit in order to win power without revealing their true face. I would suggest many are prepared to give careful consideration to our position in the European community but not on the basis of racism and horse shit.

I'm not bothering with the World Cup this time. It's a matter of principle these days. Legalised corruption on a grand scale and al under the name of football. Blatter , Plattini and many more hangers on.....then of course we have the over paid over rated players and managers to behold . People who earn more in a week than many do in a life time. I'm sorry , my heart is not in it anymore. Not interested. Do these fine principles extend to all football or are they selective?

Thinking is in short supply in some quarters. Clearly people like Stafford think it is all about Johnny Foreigner. I believe the Germans made the same mistake a few decades back. If people haven't a scooby what they are voting for then that is when it gets dangerous. The party is led by a right wing extremist who thought all Tory policies were too weak. That's why it isn't difficult to work out his taxation etc policies even if you can't be bothered to listen. So Stafford is advocating a vote for a party where he will be subjected to a flat income tax rate where he pays as much in the pound as Peter Coates and watches while VAT is ramped up to support the proposed 40% increase in defence spending. Enjoy paying your private medical bills out of the loose change boys. Again how do you know this before they do? You and your kind may want to give your country up but there are plenty more that don't. Given that you have already admitted that you haven't a clue about the policies of a party you openly advertise on your avatar you are pushing your luck trying to second guess anyone. You talk about others giving up their country and yet you are happy to hand over power to people you admit you have no idea on where they stand on anything except they pander to you long standing racial prejudices. I belong to a country that upholds the values of social fairness. That includes a fair taxation system and a right to health care not based on an ability to pay. Just two of the things you apparently don't realise UKIP threaten. Never mind we will apparently have a couple more lovely aircraft carriers and a lot of planes to put on them along with a fabulous array of shiny nuclear weapons. You know exactly why you in particular advocate UKIP. Its just slightly amusing that you would be amongst the millions who would be marginalised by their policies. I'm going to guess that you don't pay tax currently at one of the higher rates? As long as there aren't any of them nasty Romanians and whoever is the chosen eastern European of hate for the day to share the joy eh Stafford?

If he makes the big parties have a proper referendum on eu membership it's a job well done. Our continued membership is not what our parents voted for over 40 years ago. Ooh they have policies alright. They just don't like being cornered on them. Why do you think that is? If you really think another referendum on Europe will be accepted by the Little Englanders good luck to you. They would lose the vote again and start crying for yet another as soon as they can fabricate a suitable pretence. We have a referendum every four or five years. You can influence your MP whenever you like. Most don't call for the UK to exit Europe because they know what suicide it would be. We don't run an empire anymore!

Rather than scaling back the EU, the EPP will campaign around a five-year programme that will aim to transform the EU into “a genuine political union”. The German Chancellor and the leaders of Ireland, Poland, Spain, Hungary, Portugal, Greece, Cyprus and Latvia launched the manifesto were in Dublin on Friday. It's this type of shit farage needs to be campaigning on Yes indeed people just don't know. Unfortunately for the Charlatan, General Elections focus on the real issues. He will have to put out a manifesto for a start. 2010 is it since we actually saw UKIP lift their skirt and fully demonstrate in writing what they really are? When people get to hear about his plans to introduce the most regressive tax system that would make even a Tory blush, his plans to dismantle the Welfare State and his plans to destroy the National Health Service his lies and scare politics isn't going to ring such bells with the working class voters who chose to make UKIP their vote of protest rather than the Lib Dems on the more minor election platform.

I think Browett's comments are a huge compliment to Stoke. Firstly he is literally correct in what he says and is effectively waking up to the fact that "small club" Stoke have achieved 9th position in the world's premier league. He is clearly giving Pulis the objective of emulating what Stoke have achieved, while big city clubs in Leeds, Birmingham, Sheffield, Bristol, and now Fulham in London languish in lower divisions. He says there are 5 million people within an hour of Selhurst Park, but doesn't mention how many other football clubs there are, or how much passion there is for football. Wimbledon moved out. All the more reason for MH and his lads to stuff them next season. Yep agree entirely. The time to worry is when someone isn't eyeing their dick up and trying to exaggerate its largeness by cross referencing it to ours!!

What an arse. Why is he even mentioning Stoke at all? Almost some sort of obsession. Or jealous? Should tell him to come back when they make an FA Cup final and finish 9th in the Premier League. Why is he mentioning Stoke? Maybe because the bloke who managed us for a decade has been in his ear. The poor fucker of a Palace chairman has a summer of hearing all about none existent "second season syndrome" to look forward to and help along with his coffers being emptied on "proven Premier League" players of a certain vintage. Let him hang onto his delusions and have something other than misery to think about.

Instead of answering that you tell me that I am happy he did pick two players who I never mentioned. As far as picking players who play for the top clubs is concerned, the general rule of thumb here is that they usually have the better players. Its not magic. ok sorry mr hodgson. Don't mention it. He was involved in a League game squad for the first time on 10 March 2010 and made his league debut five minutes before the end of a 1–1 draw at Burnley Umm, no, he left in 2005.
