No, but the data is from the office of national statistics, which isn't part of the government Who feeds them then? SurprisedThat is misleading, as the main numbers of immigrants had arrived last year into work so paying taxes and contributing, it is a year on year rise to the end of March. The numbers from January to March fell, instead of rising by 29 million like Nige was scaremongering, why did they leave, who knows? perhaps they had earned enough to buy a mansion back home, or begged enough to retire on, or just couldn't afford to live in the south east where the jobs were, or went back home and said' Bucharest is nicer than London, where it's full of foreigners'

They don't really have any accurate figures for people coming in and out of the country though do they.Much of it is guess work based on patterns and such like. How many come under the radar and work on the black market ? Could be 1,could be 1 million.Truth is no one knows

How many come under the radar and work on the black market ? Could be 1,could be 1 million.Truth is no one knows Good point. These statistics that people use are based on individuals filling in a workplace survey. There is no passport counting at airports etc. There's no obligation to add your nationality or place of birth to the survey or even to complete it at all.For every dodgy banker that goes down for insider dealing how many weren't convicted? Or not caught at all? None? 1%, 100% nobody knows. Anyway these are workers figures. How many family members of registered workers or 'black' workers or just plain unemployed should be added to this number? Everyone takes a part of the countries resources not just the tax payer. Is this just a bit of UKIP bashing as the main parties slowly begin their election campaigns? Using quarterly fluctuations to mask the annual figures? The Office for National Statistics reported that there were 140,000 Romanians and Bulgarians employed in the UK in the first quarter of 2014. That was a fall of 4,000 on the final three months of last year, but an increase of 28,000 over the last 12 months. The detailed figures show that there are now 2.7 million foreign nationals in the UK workforce of 30 million – just under 10% – which includes a rise of 74,000 in the first three months of 2014. This is almost entirely accounted for by an increase of 75,000 workers from eastern Europe, including Poland.Estimates of employment by nationality and country of birth are available back to 1997. For January to March 1997 there were 928,000 non-UK nationals working in the UK (3.5% of all people working in the UK). For January to March 2014, there were 2.77 million non-UK nationals working in the UK (9.1% of all people working in the UK). This increase in the number of non-UK nationals working in the UK since 1997 partly reflects the admission of several new member states to the European Union. - ONS.

I think you are mistaking me for Nigel Farage... Where does it say 26million are coming to Britain? It's perfectly clear what kind of fear they are trying to invoke, stirring up tension and panic that all these people are coming to take our jobs, using great big numbers and a very bold visual to go with it. In fact, it looks a hell of a lot like a certain other gesture that we all associate with a call to arms to rise up and defend our country... The same party accuses others of being blind and ignorant in to what this country is walking in to - well i'd far prefer it to be an open and fair one than being a nationalist, fuck everybody else one - and I can't trust any single one of them who claim to 'represent the people' any more or less as any of the other self serving bastards

Eventually the flow will slow naturally, because we will have run out of housing, space, money, and tolerance from the man in the street, and realising we've been bled dry, economic migrants will go to richer countries instead.
Maybe we've already reached that point ?
Pretty sad if so, and a damning indictment of government since World War Two.

We entered the European economic community ...not the European Union.... It was set up for the good of trade, not to create a land grabbing super state It was originally set up with good intensions since consecutive governments have been bullshitting us for their own interests
