No and why would he? The one success story of the dreadful summer past... Don't think he should be sacked, some of the signings have potential in my opinion.. vidigal, mmae, burger, junior, bae, Plus mcnally and Travers were decent loan signings.. When your revamping to the level we did in the summer there's gonna be some hits and some misses.. some will be no more than squad fillers because the recruitment was after so many players. Could it of been better...yes in certain positions on the pitch. But the failing has been the manager not getting anything out of this group and rightly he has paid the price for that.

Referring to the thread title change it just goes to show what ITKers, even those in the so called media, actually know. And to think some on here were actually losing their shit over this. Totally agree, Names will be thrown around all over the place. Because journalists have to create a story even if one isn't there.. ..unless they've already lined someone up this'll take a little while.

Interesting to see Nuno leading the poll, His wolves success was built around playing 5 at the back.
Got the impression we didn't want 5 at the back

I noticed this article on The Sentinel the other day: www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/stoke-city-hughes-pep-guardiola-8956321?utm_source=mynewsassistant.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=embedded_search_item_mobileHughes did an interview with Sam Allardyce (?) for a podcast (?) and talked about lots of things at Man City and Bradford, but had very little to say about Stoke. At one point, to quote the article: A message was passed on to him from a Stoke fan to say he was their favourite manager but Hughes said: “Is he in a minority of one?”Given how it all ended, I get the impression that he thinks he's persona non grata in the Potteries, which is a shame to my mind. Perhaps the protests that bookends his reign gave him that impression. Yet I'm sure that I'm not alone in thinking back very fondly on his vintage team with Begovic, Shawcross, N'Zonzi, Arnautovic, Bojan and Moses (unrelatedly, one of our most underrated signings). Vintage team agreed, with 3 of those you mentioned Pulis signings and also the spine of the team. It was when Hughes tried to replace this fine thinks went downhill. To me Hughes will be remembered as giving us a spell of great football but ultimately the man who brought our 10 year prem adventure to an end.... As we rapidly approach 10 yrs lower championship club with no sign of improvement.

Is everyone still pretending they think this lad's good? He was a utility squad player for a team relegated from serie A last season...that tells us his level.

Only times I've seen truly fit stoke teams were under macari and Pulis, this current squad are dead on their feet by 70 minutes Absolutely nothing to do with fitness. When you’re settling for a draw and the other team refuses to acquiesce the upside is pretty mediocre and the downside is calamitous. You’re completely ruling out a satisfactory outcome. I disagree...there are a number of issues why were struggling which all land at Neil's door, but a basic one is fitness we have to many players not fit to play 90 mins We sit back and try and hold out for a draw because we're not fit enough to go on and try and win the game

Is it down to fitness though or (which I would say) down to the managers subs and game management. Gouranga. A combination of all those i would say. The players just don't look able to last 90 mins. Subs are far to late.. last week we had 3 strikers (vidigal, mmae, campbell) all returning from injury.. poor game management in that Neil couldn't see they were finished after 70 mins he took vidigal off and left mmae on all game.. he left Campbell on till the 87th min then finally took him off and you could see Campbell rubbing his thigh while stood in the dugout....now he's out injured - very poor management from Neil.

Even if it was Cooper or Potter ? I just don't see it, our stock is so low we just need to stabilise. I think we are building a reputation as unmanageable basket case that needs to be addressed before we can attract those sort of names. Potter won't even be aware of us, he'll be watching the man u situation, Newcastle if they fail to get into the top 4. England in the summer or at his lowest west ham should moyes cock it up

Is it the goalkeepers and half the defence who are stopping us scoring a reasonably acceptable number of goals? No, that's down to coaching, motivation and tactics, as I've said. It can't be coaching.....we paid hefty compensation to PNE for the next bright thing in the coaching world!!!!

Whoever it is has got to unravel another mess so it needs to be someone we can all get behind and afford the patience as this is another write off of a season. Equally, any new manager needs to prove fairly quickly that he’s worth uniting behind. What comes next is arguably the biggest decision we’ve had to make since we appointed Lou Macari, and if not him then since the first appointment of TP. And wasn't macari 4th choice for Coates snr..allegedlly

Any other realistic names? Beale Bruce Carsley (Cooper) Eustace Hasenhuttl Heckingbottom Jokanovic Lampard Lijnders Marsch Mowbray Muscat Parker Schumacher Smith Still Terry Tomasson Warnock I guess you’ve got to add Michael Duff, Steven Kenny and even Nigel Pearson in there. That's 3 quality names joining the list. 🤣

The whole concept of payoffs for failure has killed us. Wish I had it in my job. Give Eustace the rest of this season - see if he can win himself a longer contract. Think Eustace is better and would back himself as better than having to accept a contract till end of season with option of winning himself an extension..that would be the thinking of an out of date board still living on past glories... oh wait..

This post is pointless..
They'll go English. There'll go experience. There'll go safe.
It's tony moanbry sure as day.....of course he'll need the next 3 years to get rid of all Neil's players and bring in his own pure football squad..
The cycle goes on.

m.skybet.com/football/manager-specials/event/32685789Steven Schumacher 2/1 Julien Sablé 7/2 Paul Heckingbottom 7/2 John Eustace 6/1 Graham Potter 10/1 Kim Hellberg 10/1 Kevin Muscat 12/1 Nathan Jones 14/1 Francesco Farioli 16/1 Jesse Marsch 16/1 Kevin Phillips 16/1 Diego Martinez 20/1 Frank Lampard 20/1 Jim Goodwin 20/1 Lee Carsley 20/1 Patrick Vieira 20/1 Pierre Sage 20/1 Roy Keane 20/1 Thierry Henry 20/1 Gary Rowett 25/1 Jocelyn Gourvennec 25/1 Michael Duff 25/1 Neil Warnock 28/1 Aitor Karanka 33/1 Karl Robinson 33/1 Leam Richardson 33/1 Nigel Pearson 33/1 Steve Evans 33/1 Steve Bruce 40/1 Farioli at 16s will be interesting. They were close to appointing him in the summer apparently, behind Mowbrays back which is ironic given their moaning and groaning about Neil... Managers must be in short supply if Kevin muscat and Kevin Phillips can get on the list.

It’s easier to hide on social media than give an honest assessment in an interview in front of cameras. As team captain he should be front and centre of all the interviews otherwise what is the point of being captain? What else do they do? He should have the responsibility of explaining why we’re terrible along with the manager just like anyone else in a position of responsibility in life. Captaincy means nothing in football these days, it’s just an armband, occasionally in rainbow colours to show how socially woke they are Is there a player in recent memory that is less deserving and less suitable than Laurent to be captain of this great, historical club? I can't think of any. About as far away from a "motivational, inspirational leader" as they come. Baker

Wrong. Absolutely deserved to lose it. The team gave up with 15 minutes or so left hoping for a draw. Pathetic. Agree we just ran out of steam from 60 70 mins onward.. Yet he left mmae on full and took a clearly knackered Campbell off at 86 mins!!!!

Not sure if Greaves took penalties, but he also scored 2 goals in the Charity Shield (which doesn't count anymore?) and did it in less games than Harry. Played in Italy too. I'm a big fan of Kane but I guess a lot of Spuds fans, especially those my age, would still lean towards Greaves as their best ever. Either way, two immense talents Greaves scored more goals in England’s top division than anyone before or since - and he did that despite a year spent in Italy where he won the Serie A title with AC Milan - with 357 goals in 516 games, which is a record that may never be broken.
In fact, the Premier League’s all-time record goalscorer, Alan Shearer, would only be fifth on the list if history was taken into account, with Greaves sitting clear at the top.
For England, Greaves had a better goals-to-minutes record than any of the greats - better than Bobby Charlton, Gary Lineker, Wayne Rooney or Shearer - 44 goals in just 57 internationals, complete with no less than six hat-tricks.
After a 15-year career Jimmy’s staggering statistics told the story... 422 goals in 602 appearances.Come on, your just being silly. Everyone knows football didn't exist before the Premier league. Stop this foolishness. How would Alan shearer feel if motd announced he wasn't the greatest scorer ever ...his poor smug face would be devasted.. just stop this nonsense.

I've heard of worse suggestions than that. Deal until January and sell it to him as a shop window job. I know it’s highly unlikely, but if we say, come and play for us for 2 months or whatever and we will give you a million.. I just might tempt him And screw our ffp up in one swoop.

Can we all just ignore Bayern the bore... dont reply to his miserable continued drivel.
I called him out yesterday and questioned his motives and why he instantly throws abuse at AN if he doesn't agree the starting line up.. His idea of supporting Stoke is to constantly run it down, slam the board. Manager, and any players he doesn't like.
ADMIN seem happy for him to call the manager a wanker under the guise of being passionate about stoke,
Bayern your a first class bore and Stoke city would be better off without your perverse view of support..
IGNORE HIM FOLKS. DONT GIVE HIS THREADS OXYGEN.

I'm quite sure the negative small group on this forum which I'm talking about don't go around wearing shirts saying I want stoke to lose. And I'm sure you've never heard a stoke fan saying they want stoke to lose..but as I said in my earlier posts, and I'll say it again for you. I do wonder with the same few being so negative about everything stoke city, Alex Neil etc, the impression I get is that their only happy when stoke lose so they can moan some more about stoke.. Some peoples attitude/comments towards stoke is unbelievably negative I do wonder if they are really stoke fans...maybe they are and I'm wrong, but the attitude of a few led by Bayern, pugsley is nothing short of pathetic. Who the hell are you to question someones support when you know nothing about them? All for having a different opinion and not afraid to voice it. That truly is pathetic. Have a different opinion., thats fine.. but calling people wankers is not, and its not debating team line ups..its online abuse.. The evidence of years of continual negative texts from a couple on here goes past having a difference of opinion... it goes into an attitude of anti stoke everything... that my fellow loyal supporter is pathetic I voiced my different opinion of what I thought of some peoples style of support...like you say its a forum.. get over it.
