they are mighty impressive!! I had 1st session of the year on weds and topped it off with a 17lb mirror off the top on floaters, nothing compared to the above but still a rush seeing it come up and take the biscuit.
Where is that lake?

lord eff - yeah there is a lot of jack pike in there, you always see them in the margins, there are bigger pike too, but nobody really fishes for them until the coldest of winter.

Full, Can you get a day ticket to fish it? Those carp are flipping huge by the way.

lord eff, yeah, £3.00 a day if you pay for day ticket, but it isnt a place anybodys just going to turn up n catch them, you have to put in a bit of time to get them, its not uncommon to go 3 or 4 times and catch nothing at all, sometimes it can be harder than that too.

I only want a spot of piking Just try spinning round the margins or with lures. You could do two circuits of the lake and see which areas are most productive as many pike are creatures of habit stalking their prey.

No, it's pretty close to my description, but not me. I walked round last summer and a lad in his early twenties had caught that fish off "the rocks" at the far end. He was telling me it showed 3 or 4 times a year. I fancy a session in the top left hand corner ( looking from the car park ) as I've seen plenty of fish rolling there. I like the thought that it's a carp / pike targeted water and other specimens in there don't really get targeted.

Within about a20 mile drive of Stoke. Thanks in advance!. You could try the lakes on Moreton Level, Scholar Green. I've not really fished them but lakes are reasonably easy the small lake on the other side of road has a lot of smaller easier to catch carp in, the bigger lake if you want to try on the bigger ones. Not my kind of place but facilites are ok I think.

Not my kind of place but facilites are ok I think. i live about 5 minutes from there and it is good fishing but the man who lives in the cotage taking the money is a twat he is the most miserablist man i no. If you did fish here i would recomend on the main lake as you look across the main lake from the car park the peg at the other end of the lake (just to get away from the man) no a lady comes and feeds the ducks and the carp seem too like whatever she puts in. Theres a tree in the water there so be careful if you fish on the next peg down and walk your lines down and put them both in the corner where the tree is you will definetly have a few fish. Tell me if you have any.

Making a member of Stoke on Trent Angling Society and was wondering if anyone knew if they had decent toilet facilities?. I was once told that if anyone charges to use their waters then they have to provide toileting facilities.
First port of call will be to take the children Fanshawe pool and then i'll probably take them to night fish Bolesworth Castle.
Thanks in advance.
