I'm after a campsite by a river that you can fish literally straight out of your tent..ie no walking involved.
One that allows pets too...Any ideas chaps..?

Anyone done much fishing on the Trent or Severn.? I used to go for Barbel at Buildwas, just above Ironbridge on a Telford and district Anglers day card. I caught one or two in the 4-7 lb bracket, although there are double figure fish in the stretch... MUMF Done plenty of fishing on the 7 , Teme and Avon. I specifically target Barbel myself and there is a good stock on the water mentioned if you want any good spots let me know ill post you a load. My pers favs are Bideford on Avon, nice wear fast flowing Barbel love it. and then there's the Teme which flows into the 7, top locations and good DOUBLES and I mean Doubles not 12's or 13's ..

Right then lets get started. I duggest you get an OS map for the areas as they will help you pin point.
SEVERN:-
BROOK SECTION left bankget the A442 from Kiddie, take the left at the lion hotel sign. follow the road and park @ hay brook parking. 2 great pegs on the RH bend from car park.
HAMPTON LOADE B section. follow A442 (bridgenorth) from kiddie again this time head for the ferry and park up there. good stretch for 800 meters look for telegraph pole and aim there. held the Severn record until 4 yr ago
TRIMPLEY, This is BARBEL alley first 4 weeks of the season is bag up time. swimfeeder full of maggotts, they just bombard it.B4194 pass the harbour in head over the river and fish the EASTERN bank. record got smashed here in 2007
AVON:-
Bidefoord / Marcliff
head to bideford on the A435 and cross the bridge, 1st right to MArcliff turn right in the villiage down the track and bear left to the river bank. then follow path downstream for approx 500m, to a wear you can fish from the island down all the way to where the river ARROW joins. good stock of 12-15lb's and some BIG CHUB. spot on a must on the calendar.
Salford Priors Again A435take turning for caravan park, then left at the fork and then continue down the service rd and take a right at the gate. can walk left up to the Arrows mouth or fish just off the bend tot he far side.
TEME this has to be one of the most unerstated rivers, this has no monsters largest on record was about 16lb,5oz, however the stock is quality and the amount of 7-10lb's has to be up there. oh and very pretty too. good night fishing.
BROADWAS follow A44 pas the royal oak then you will see a barn storage to left on the bend park at field opening and you can have 3/4 mile of great water even some salmon fishing.
COTHERIDGE continue down the A44 thru the village on the BEND there is a track to the left that takes you down to the field, follow all the way to the end and pegs straight infron tof you or walk up stream to the very top pegs. brilliant for stalking caught a nice 13lb,3 on the main bend where the cows come down to drink. not sure why maybe the manure but i have caught and also heard many good Barble caught at drinking holes for cows.
Tame, this is now starting to produce some good barble at various locations, place called ELFORD has been known to produce a double or too.
BARBEL stock is on the rise.. Tight lines boys...

Thanks for that watchemgo and Lord Eff....I will be trying out these new tips this year. I was at Stapeley Water Gardens today and there was two or three clubs advertising their waters.Nantwich Angling Society was one of them with stretches on the River Dee at Farndon, and also stretches obn the Weaver. The cost of their membership is £9 a season and they have a web-site for those interested. Lakemore fisheries were also there.. www.lakemorefisheries.co.uk for those specimen hunters amongst us.Catfish to 75lb plus and Carp 32 lb plus... 24 hour tickets £25 ....and £30 depending on which lake you decide to fish. Check them out.

Mumf. We go on the Dee in a boat. We can go as far as Farndon bridge but we have not been that far yet. The parts we have had a go on weve had pearch, small chubb and eels. There are asupposed to be Barble at Farndon Bridge.
Kidsgrove AC have a stretch of the Dove from the A50 bridge at Uttox to the foot suspension bridge.
Prince Albert like always have a few stretchs of the Dove.

Is anyone a member of Lymm or Stone Private, looking for a club for this year and could anyone tell me were some of the Lymm waters are as it doesnt say on there website. Happychappy....Why not have a look at Northwich Anglers. They have some excellent waters too numerous to mention. They have long stretches of the river Dane in and around Northwich..The river Weaver , Big Billinge and Little Billinge(just on the outskirts of Northwich) near the middlewich A533 rd.They also have long stretches of the Trent and Mersey canal. You tend to get a lot of seasoned Carp and pike anglers fishing Big and Little Billinge..some big fish. I think that Northwich A.A. is better than both Lymm anglers and Warrington.

theres a couple more 20's, 7 or 8 upper doubles and the rest are low doubles. abt 20/25 fish in total. yeah its heavily fished everybody & his dog wants to catch the 'big-un' if you go take a baseball bat or somet, you do tend to get gypsies down there shooting with air rifles, i never had no mither but there is the potential.

It was a briliant fish to pick off on a floater. I'm not a massive carp angler but do dabble in a bit of stalking now and again. I wouldn't want to be ducking pellets ( from a rifle ) though ! I fancy a couple of sessions on Westport in a few weeks time, but after the tench ( not many fish for them any more ).

agreed aswell, fishing Tuesday hoping for my first decent fish of the year, been carp fishing a fair few times and yet to catch, get me on the float and was catching upto double figure fish on tiny hooks and two maggots.
Strange this fishing lark
Btw does anyone fish the "lido" or smithpool as im considering a ticket for there as i only live arounf the corner and would be really easy to walk there with my kit.

I was in Marbella over Easter and had a good walk around the harbour.I know it's not really associated with this thread but I noticed with much interest the Mullet swimming around the moored boats waiting to be fed. Some of these Mullet must have been 12 lb or more.
What was even more surprising was the fact that one day I saw a dozen Mackerel swimming with the Mullet..just yards from the seafront.!! I thought that this was quite amazing as I never seen this type of behaviour before anywhere else in the world.
The only sad thing for me was that you were not allowed to fish for them....Strictly forbidden.!
The 'rich and famous' once again having the final word... !
