does anybody fish capesthorne main lake for carp, i fished it for the 1st time last season. Ive just got into carp fishing and i went bout 5 times. Didnt have 1 i had 1 bream if anybody does fish there have they got any tips for this season thanks in advance. if it was me mate, i'd always keep one rod just on a decent frozen readymade (mainline, nashy etc) boilie and loose feed chopped and whole boilies around. On the other rod i'd experiment with different methods each session until i found somthing that worked on that water,,, as an alternative to boilies i've always done well on hair rigged pepperami (green one) over trout pellets.

Last time i went to Cornshire, on Cape Cornwall, hour after hour at the end of the slipway and not one bite, last time we went in a boat we filled the fucker full of Mackerel, Mackerel and some more Mackerel. Dont ask any more questions as i feel uneasy answering you, its like you're picking my pocket if you get my drift.

Yes mate, i've also heard about the warm water at Rugeley. At the moment i've only got one holiday booked for this year and thats at Borth where the petrified forest appears at very low tide, might try a bit of maggot drowning off the cliffs when we go, hoping to buy a caravan in the next few weeks so even more chance of dangling it in the wet stuff.

the best thing to do sal is go into your local fishing tackle shop and ask about local waters that are fishing well and then see if they will do you a deal on a complete set up.

How/where would a total beginner start fishing please? The best way of starting is going along with someone who is experienced and can show you how to set up the gear and what gear to buy. Don't try buying gear on your own before you start, as it all depends on what type of fishing you want to do...ie, carp, pole fishing, coarse, river, fly, or sea fishing. Once you have mastered the basics then the best time to start on your own is in the summer months, and perhaps join a local club. A rod licence is required and costs about £25, and then there are the subs to pay to the preferred local club.

I use this myself quite a lot too...
Another favourite of mine is 'Complex' boilies soaked in multiplex flavouring, and used in conjunction with P.V.A bags with halibut pellets.
