Is anyone fishing or has fished "the lido" or smithpool. Ive got my ticket now and i may start a baiting campaign. I'm just curious of the stock levels and such? Also the general course fish, what is in there?

I've been invited to go down to 'Whiteacres' in Cornwall on a 'Freebie' . It's one of those commercial waters that I am not particulary keen on usually.
Has anyone fished it.?

Where did sweetandinnocent go? Did he an ilford or was he banned? Is the fishing gear from Aldi any good? I'm a cheap skate-haha a fish joke!

The Fishing gear in Aldi is rubbish....Go to Stapeley for the larger items or perhaps ebay.? Failing that many of the local shops have quite a comprehensive selection of gear.
It all depends on what type of fishing you plan on doing.?

For general 'messing about' you are better going for a strong coarse rod that is made of carbon fibre.A second hand one will do you and a cheap Abu Garcia reel with 3 - 5 lb breaking strain will handle fish up to about 8lb.
Have a look in the paper for job lots...Rod, Reel, Basket, Carry Bag, Landing Net, Keep Net, etc ....You could get the lot for as little as £80 depending on the quality.

Id say mid week would be better but its a really nice place, the baliff is a good bloke (he might be the owner) So to your original question id say it was worth a day
