More power to him then ......delegate wherever and whenever you can , it shows confidence in the troops by the commander . In Boris' case it was delegation to the point of dereliction. Unless there was a shameless self-promotional zip wire opportunity to strangle his blonde nutsack on. Dereliction. ? It seems like he made a reasonable job of it .

Why don't we focus on the policy of 10,000 new Police, rather than a lost sheet of financials? Is that too much to ask? What's important here? Bashing Labour or keeping our streets safe? Whats important? I think it's important that a politician asked about her own departments policies knows at least the basics. Saying lets have more police it'll be wonderful just doesn't cut it with me I'm afraid. Anyone with an ounce of common sense knows she's a car crash waiting to happen, yet Corbyn made her Shadow Home Secretary. Although to be fair he was struggling to fill even his most important posts as most of his own MP's view him as a useless waste of space. Vote Labour. She eventually got the figures right on LBC. What's the big problem here? There are some ridiculously OTT responses on this thread.

No, he cocked lots of things up. £37mill still missing from the public purse over the Garden Bridge fiasco, 400 new high rise development that will shatter London's well kept planning height ceiling, the buses fiasco, the housing crisis... The list is a long one.

I live in a London borough and I don't know! that's how good he was

It's sad times that labour have become so unelectable at the moment, really difficult to find any party to go with, surely labour must realise a huge shake up is needed

According to an ex met chief it's not just a case of recruiting more officers.
He says instead of police they would be better off employing computer science graduates as cyber crime experts
More forensic scientists to analyse data, DNA etc.
It's about being able to solve crimes and ensure prosecutions not just bobbies on the street

Knife crime in London is getting out of control. 10,000 new Police is an emergency response to the damage that has been metered out by this bloody government and some folk on this thread just want to talk about what a bitch Diane Abbot is for forgetting a sheet of financials.

But in relation to the serious topic of the discussion around a crisis in UK law enforcement and the possibility of recruiting extra Police personnel, yes it's OTT and quite frankly bloody ridiculous.

Yes, for the fifteenth time, we totally get that. And Diane Abbot got the numbers right after a few anxious moments. Focus on the policy, not on a missing data-sheet.
