Corbyn offers to put 10,000 Police back on the streets, after the Tories have trashed 22,500 jobs in seven years of government and there's a page and a half of grown men on here talking about Diane Abbott's crappy interview as though it's mortally offended them. Bloody hilarious

She tried to deflect blame onto the Conservatives. She looked like she has had her ears bent by the labour leadership, I recognise that look after remembering the look of friends of mine just coming back from the headmaster after a severe rollocking. Mmmm.. she keeps deflecting from the topic in hand. The fact that she said that she did talk about the figures but no press releases alluded to this. By all means they want to talk about the police topic but they want to deal with the issue in hand first but she keeps deflecting it. The good thing is that the Daily Politics are firm on not letting the Conservative representative jump on this and keep it on track. She is floundering and has never been an asset to Labour. Yes I caught that, the Tories had a bald bull dog waiting in the wings to pounce but he seemed a little flaky on the crime numbers himself when pressed, perhaps he was deliberately flaky since they didn't seem to stand up his case. On a tangential point why are the Tories not advancing any policies this election? It was after all they who called it so they must have something to say. It seems to be all staged photo opportunities and parroted slogans, and pointing out the obvious handicap of Mr. Corbyn's leadership. I know Mrs May is very wooden and her cabinet is far from dynamic but the electorate deserve much better. I am thinking of going LibDem, I certainly would if Nick Clegg was still leader. Well they certainly deserve someone better than Nick Clegg Gods .....clearly not the Ken Livingstone look alike who is running them now (well I think he looks a little like Red Ken )

I just thought it was a piss poor interview with somebody that didn't have the financials to hand. Big deal. Obviously you see this as a fatal error that would preclude Labour from forming an effective government.

Dominic Rabb said he was actually invited on to the programme to talk about Brexit. When he was talking about crime stats he gave the facts that the ONS report which said that reported crime had risen a "measurable amount recently" it also said this rise was "statistically insignificant". Also, a rise in reported crime is not the same as a a rise in crime. Anyway, for those impatient ones amongst us, the Labour manifesto will be published on the 15th of May, the Conservatives are publishing their's on the 8th of May, I couldn't find the date of the Lib Dem publishing date after 10 minutes of googling. Probably just waiting until they've read the others ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/kwfoKwtHI0jglJZ4qZf6.gif) . Have you been away somewhere nice Jonesy? Yes I do and you know I don't think I'm alone, I also think it shows her for the utter incompetent she is, and if that's how one of the Labour Parties big hitters fairs in an interview during an election campaign perhaps it's best for all of us if they don't win, can I presume you think it was just bad day at the office and that she's an MP of real talent ?

10,000 more police on the beat, fund it through reversing cuts to capital gains tax, good idea or not?
It's probably not for me but I bet it passed a few public opinion testing panels.
You don't really see them anymore do you? There were 2 police officers walking down our road a few months ago and I must admit I did ask them if their car had broken down and if they perhaps needed a lift!

It's a vote winner for me, people say labour always increase the national budget. But anybody who manages to employ 10,000 police officers, all of which are on an hourly rate of £0.013 must be a genius. 😂

I think you'll find the public will judge corbin on exactly what he says, the only problem for him is that come the 9th June it will be a big fat resounding NO. I take it you're happy to have someone as Home secretary who on the day of a major policy announcement doesn't know the costings of that policy, then tries to bull shit her way out of it and ends up looking an even bigger fool. That's the kind of can do winner you want in government is it?

i told you. To get elected you need to get your image and PR right. As well as be a subject matter expert on your role, policies etc
Theresa May saying very little is better than dianne abbot speaking a load of old bollocks.
Swing voters will remembering that Dianne Abbot gave out wrong spending info over a major policy. Especially as their first question is always how labour will pay for it

People are less interested in political dogma than administrative competence.

The reality is she forgot her financial datasheet, it's really nothing. The fact that this is even news is more than mildly disturbing.

Being as ill prepared as that for such an important interview is unprofessional to say the least.
