Diane Abbott has just beautifully summed up the incompetence of the Labour party on LBC this morning talking about this proposal, Car crash stuff, couldn’t remember the numbers, couldn’t cost them properly, then said there were going to be 250,000 more officers not 10,000, subsequently accused Nick Ferrari of making that number up when it was her mistake, repeatedly called the Police MEN and when she finally gave a figure it was pointed out that by HER costings of 10,000 officers @ £80,000,000 is only £8,000 per year, we got silence, dead air. This is the Labour Party Shadow Home Secretary, muddled dim witted incompetence at its finest.
I will post a link to listen again when one is available, it really has to be heard to be believed it’s that embarrassing.

Indeed you could hear her desperately trying to do the maths in her head. Everyone also knows the 10,000 would be heavily skewed to London.

To be fair she had the figures in the end (it seems) it just seemed very poorly prepared and off kilter as she muddled her figures. That however, is not unexpected from Diane Abbott as she normally flounders when put under pressure or caught off guard.
A bit of a faux pas, but nothing too harmful as it will be brushed off as typical Abbott.

20,000 cut to police by the Tories, the party of law and order lol rising crime rates and they cut police!! Crime as a whole is falling, however that is in due to the drastic reduction in Anti Social Behaviour crime. I have taken the graph that does not include ASBs and it does see a rise in crime year on year, especially in violent(and sexual), robbery and theft. There are key front line issues and not just giving "Timmy" a thick ear because he was drinking and partying loudly in the park (Although that is still needed!). I had a feeling however that these rises would mostly in London however I was quite surprised that crime rates were steady: This is pretty reflected across the forces with not one force being an obvious contributor to crime rises.... Worrying? I am not sure.... we should see how the trend is for 17-18, but perhaps the call for more front line officer's are needed (And not just going for extra PCSOs as has been in the past)

But I explained the reasons above and why I didn't include a set of data that in part agrees with your statement.

And he'll continue paying squillions to the eu It's only money mate Have we got enough upstanding young 20 somethings with sufficient moral fibre ready to step forward away from their media studies courses to fill the breach. Diane could pop down to the job centres and scoop up all she needs. Overnight it becomes a reality. They won't get famous though unfortunately.

She has no credibility in my opinion and should be left out to dry by serious labour leadership, especially for her frequently public racist comments such as "white people love playing 'divide and rule'" [source: Sky News] and reportedly said staff at her local east London hospital who were "blonde, blue-eyed Finnish girls" were not suitable to be nurses because they had "never met a black person before. Her response was taken to imply she thought the MP was trying to suck up to the frontbench of which she did not deny. She is a liability and I am unsure why she is kept on. Actually I am, she has engineered herself to be seen as indispensable by Corbyn as part of his team despite many gaffes that have destroyed other MPs (such as her TV side-kick Portillo). That side of her is to admired in some twisted way however is it because she has a different background that people are afraid to question her, for fear of being branded racist? After all she has form for this when challenged?
