have tried to reply 2 tstimes for this thread, am either pissed or my computer is playing up Thanks Carlos for your reply... will sort out tickets in the morning. Where are you flying from???? Think we have dropped on re flights....Wednesday 10.20 am from Manchester via Helsinki, get into Kiev for teatime. Flight back dinner time Monday back in Manchester for teatime. Train from Stoke back and forth for around £250. Fooking bargain Then we have a weekend after the match in Kiev which looks like a good time place. 8-)This will be my first Stoke game abroad,(unless you include Dundee pre season some years ago, ( which was a funny as fuck weekend ), could not afford when I was younger for the Anglo Italia games, now I am mid 40's can afford, but missed the first two games because of work commitments. Have travelled all over the world, have followed England, World Cups in Germany ,South Africa, European games Wembley etc but NOTHING , NOTHING, NOTHING, will be better than this, THIS IS STOKE CITY F.C.

now I can finally get time off work, am looking to go wednesday 14th to monday 19th. just need to sort out flights then accomodation, ......then tickets for the game. Actually really looking forward to it now (wasn't sure I would be able to get time off work, think they felt sorry for me for not being able to have time off for the first two matches) so yes bring it on, am getting more and more exited by it by the hour. Have followed England at World Cups in Germany, South Africa and European Championships........ but to follow Stoke in Europe is something else for me....... much much bigger and much much better..... save me some beer denfcdk.

He did put over the cross for the winning goal in 1979. From my memory we had a free kick near the halfway line near the dugouts. Durban appeared in his sheepskin coat and shouted that we needed to score. We took a short free kick and played it to Randall who went down the left, got to the byline , crossed deep to beyond the far post where Big Bren headed the ball back across goal into the six yard area where Ricco met the ball with a diving header. I saw the back of the net bulge and the place went mental. ;D ;D ;D One of the best days ever.

Is there any chance of making this a sticky, I am well up for this game but a few of my mates are put off by the stupid prices for flights. What I am suggesting is anyone who has info on cheaper flights, not necessary into Split, give their knowhow.. Anyone considered flights to Venice then ferry, don't know the logistics, but if we all use the net people can advise, then many more fans could go to the game. Will still look at every opportunity on me tod if need be.........FOOKING HELL ........ EUROPE!!!!!!!!!!

think i've just seen two of them an hour ago walking past the Jolly Potters in Hartshill. You know the type, trousers, white shirt, tie, american style buzzed haircut, clean cut type with a matching rucksack. Glad I don't live in Hartshill anymore.

Was in the Boothen for his debut against the arse. He made the then automatic choice for England fullback Kenny Sampson look a right twat. Think it was second half as we attacked the Boothen and he got the ball on the halfway line and started to run at Sampson. Now Sampson was no fool as a player and Mark had skinned him many times in the first half so he positioned himself so that there was next to no chance of Chambo getting around him on the outside, what he did sounds so simple but he simply passed the ball to Sampsons left, ran OFF the pitch onto the gravel track around Sampson and back onto the pitch to get the ball at a pace I had never seen before. It wasn't a little side shift and around him, he must have run 30 yards down the track and behind him, amazing. Used to see Nev quite regularly at Casino up hanley, used to see Mark quite regularly at the out of town back in the day.

Yes, the old folks routine was Luton, can remember seeing some of the lads getting into the ground a few minutes after kick off and taking a couple of rows of seats right above their lads in the seats below. Everyone in the corner they stuck us in could see them and it was quite funny to see the Luton lads beneath them giving it the big I am not realising what was going to happen with the Stoke lads above putting their fingers over their mouths shhhshing (if that is a word) to try to shut up the laughing from our fans.

Bang on the money........exactly how I feel.... gutted we lost yesterday, but we need to look at the bigger picture, which it seems that TP and St Peter are well aware of. The management strategey they have set up is superb. Look at west ham, they threw money after money on mediocre players on BIG money and look where they are. We are coming of age it seems and I for one think it's fking brilliant. Bring on next season, can't wait.

thats breakfast sorted ;D can see coaches leaving Brit as I type from Penkhull, waiting for lift........ tbh...... I still don't believe what is happening. All week i've been waiting for what is about to happen to kick in.... and it still hasn't. It's a surreal kind of feeling I know what is happening but cannot bring myself around to believe it. Anyone else feeling like this? Have been up since daft o'clock can't sleep so that must mean something? It just doesn't seem right, missed the semi due to holiday so this will be my first visit to the new Wembley, went to the old one many times with England and Stoke so can't wait. ........ lift is here ..... good luck everyone..... enjoy the day.... Sean.

Great news that T.C. is hopefully getting better. Hard to believe what happened, only saw him last week at the West Ham game and he was telling his crap jokes. Good to see ex players Geoff and John taking their time to look out for him, shows what a person he is to so many people. (scotty......it was a cross wasn't it )

Don't know if it's the same guy as mentioned earlier by swampy, but there was an old feller with a flat cap who used to chain smoke big cigars by the dugout in the Boothen side paddock. While he was finishing one he had already lit another so that when he finished one, the other was ready. This went on all game, christ knows what his lungs were like

I was one of the 4597 at the Norwich game, stood in the paddock for a change, the Boothen looked shit, hardly anyone in there. Seem to remember a young Ruel Fox having a good game for them, or I might be getting a bit senile ????

Deffo Eric, had the pleasure of his hospitality when he ran the Noahs Ark Hartshill in the late '80's/ possibly early '90's. Am sure he holds the record of appearences for the club, really nice guy too..... was great when you were invited to watch a video ( in those days really really cutting edge) of the '72 cup final after hours on a telly upstairs in the pub, for me, a real unsung hero.

Difficult............ to those who say......." organisation was good ".....fuck off..... depends on where you were. Try telling that to the thousands who were stuck in a 5 hour + queue from the car/fan park in Rustenberg after the you.S.A game....... as for getting to the game.......... .......... fucking chaos, one road in one road out, no orginisation, just chaos, thought at the time that it was going to be it for rest of the tourniment...... Much better in Cape Town (which is stunning,) which I think was indicedive (sp) of the steep learning curve the whole country took, and I think the whole country went with . Fantastic place to visit, would definately go back again, must try Durban and the East cost by the Indian Ocean, much warmer than Cape Town. don't get put off by the newspaper bollox, a beautifull country, only my 2nd time in Africa and I am quite well travelled............. Pity England are shit at football....will be back.
