The Ashes starts on wednesday night and I cant wait, this is the best chance we will have to beat these down under.
The side will pick itself
1. Strauss 2. Cook 3. Trott 4. Pieterson 5. Collingwood 6. Bell 7. Prior 8. Broad 9. Swann 10. Anderson 11. Finn
Personaly, I would pick Tremlett instead of Finn as hes bowled well in the warm up game and Finn doesnt convince me
I reckon we will win the series 2-1

I didn't go yesterday in all fairness but someone else has posted about this same incident on here, but they seemed to be saying the culprits were much younger than 18-24, more like 14-20, and a few more seemed to agree that it was just kiddies who'd been let out on their own for the first time and had one too many shandies. It's not proper hooliganism, it's acting knobbish, and unorganised, knobbish children away from football grounds aren't an excuse to impose heavy limitations on travelling fans again. I'm sorry that you feel threatened whilst going away but if it's not in the ground, it's none of Stoke's business, and if it was bothering you that much, you could have left the pub or said something, but you did neither, so it seems rather unfair that you should call for the cards to come back. They were at least 18 as they were being served and I know the names of some of them involved. As I said in the post originally. I did leave and then spent over an hour standing in the bloody Mac D's waiting for kick off. if your that bothered about it then name and shame them

Dont know because the group of blokes and kids with them all immediately left the pub due to the trouble flaring up. Luckily the glass never smashed or could have had caused some serious injuries to the lad im surprised the lads dad didnt twat the cunt who threw the glass at his son tbh

mama is a lovely fella and he appreciates the life he's had since becoming a footballer but i'll never rate him in the premiership and never will. top bloke mind not going to argue with you as we will never agree but he has been vitally important to us in this league

Neither Rory or Deano can pass it five yards, it's woeful. But still, three wins on the bounce. ;D what about deano's pin point first time pass that helped set up the first pen?

I'd go with this team Sorensen Huth Shawcross Faye Collins Etherington Diao Whitehead Delap Walters Jones What could possibly go wrong?

Yeah but on current form, Collins doesn't deserve to be dropped, he's as steady as Higgy and he's not given away 2 goals in a game recently unlike Higgy. i disagree, collins was awful today and he has been poor against liverpool, everton and sunderland, hes out of form and whenever higgy has played at left back he has done well

Delap, Man Citeh are a good attacking side, we should keep it tight. your kidding right? I would go pennant all day long if hes fit, if not then tunny i like the look of walters on the left like today, i think hes good at cutting inside for his right foot, a very good squad player

What did Collins do wrong today? People look out for every fault he does, meanwhile Wilko will possibly make as many mistakes in a game, yet people only look for the positives. Collins has been in the defence that has seen us keep 2 clean sheets on the bounce, the last time Higgy played he was at fault for 2 goals. on the whole though, higgy has been by far the better out of the 2. today collins was quilty of being skinned by wingers and he didnt close them down, giving them time to put a cross in, thats asking for trouble in my book

did he fook dive. carson new what he was doing, he lifted his body and stopped kj getting the ball, hence no complaints, the 2nd deano was just blocked off, 2 deffo pens for me amd a change of luck !!!!!!!!!!! Disagree mate, at the time i thought it was a pen but having watched the highlights he defo dived although the 2nd pen was fair enough

Bring back higgy?? more hoof, Collins at least gives it to Ethers feet so he can attack with it but he cant defend this 'collins has better distribution than higgy' is a myth

Stupid thread. Walters is not a prem player. I disagree mate, he is good cover for us, there are plenty of clubs in the prem with players like walters

yes he played well today as he has done in the previous games he has played in. So maybe deserves a start next match at home?? what you reckon ;D no, if pennant is fit i would keep the same starting line up except higgy in for collins

you are missing the point i dont think anybody would start him over these, i certainly wouldnt but what pisses people off is how people jump on his back as soon as he has a few bad games so when he has a good game people will come out and defend him No, I don't think that I am missing the point. People were "jumping on his back" because they knew there were far better options in our squad who Pulis was refusing to pick. Others were saying that Walters was great and should start, in my opinion, solely because Pulis was picking him. That's why I'm interested to know what you think now that Walters isn't an automatic inclusion. The point I'm making isn't to win some kind of endless argument based solely on what's happened in the last five minutes. "He's shit he is/No he isn't he's just scored so he's ace/well he didn't this week so now he's shit again ad infinitum...that'll prove nothing as for every good game a player will have, he'll turn in a stinker next week, and the whole things just swings monotonously back and forth. I'm more interested in finding out why people hold the opinions that they do. its not walters fault if hes picked ahead of better options, at the start of the season he played well against spurs and deserved his place in the team, his form dropped and so was he and rightly so. He was slagged off before he had even kicked a ball for us

It's noticeable that all those who seem to love Walters are those who won't hear a word of criticism against TP. Now that Pulis has seen sense and dropped Walters to a sub-role, would any of you...stokelad, tazi, potter22 et al now pick him in the starting line-up ahead of any of the following:- Fuller Jones Pennant Etherington Tuncay ??? you are missing the point i dont think anybody would start him over these, i certainly wouldnt but what pisses people off is how people jump on his back as soon as he has a few bad games so when he has a good game people will come out and defend him

Poor this week, poor last week, poor pretty much every week. The only time he has a good game is when the opposition do all their attacking down the left. In summary, he's poor. ;D ;D ;D ;D been good this season apart from today for me and sunderland, everton and liverpool hes a poor player tbh

collins was awful today, hes lucky to get a 5, hopefully he will be dropped next week and higgy will be put back in to be fair you'd say that if he had agood game, he was average but he's part of a back 4 which is immense so would be silly to change it No i wouldnt, he started off well this season and i didnt have a problem that he was getting picked, why would i if hes playing well ??? but he has been preety shit of late and dropping him wouldnt be the worst idea
