Two goals against a tired side desperate to score doesn't change the fact that he's a bench player at best.

He took his 2 chances (or 3 if you count the initial save) well. What more can you say. i'll take any sub scoring 2 goals in 12 minutes.

It was one of the most impressive 10 minute performances I've ever seen! ;D
However, once the euphoria of the two goals dies down, based on ALL the evidence we've seen, Walters isn't good enough to start for us in this league.
Today doesn't change that fact, although even aside from his brace, I thought he played very well in closing down West Brom and winning headers in the wide positions. That's his role for me- on as sub when we're leading, with instructions to defend from the front and stop the opposition building from the back.

Give over, if I had made a thread every time he was wank You'd have a point but I haven't. Walters does fook all for me but I'm happy for him today. Tidier footballer than I expected but he's no great shakes.

to be fair he's still a bench player, like pulis said he's on a high after ireland debut, he should never be ahead of pennant, fuller, tuncay etc but ahead of sidibe i will say that

A good squad player, and does a job in our team when needed. Not my cup of tea but he is really up Tonys street and hes the gaffer so he'll do for me. I do see and like his plus points, but he'd be down my list further than he is on Tones!

With that logic, we should start him next game, he'll have a hatrick by 15 minutes and will be into double figures by the time he's substituted mid way through the second half ;0 Have to say, he's a reasonable squad player, that tache reminds me of a throw back 80's player, but he offers graft and is a steady squad player, more than big Mama sadly.

crap / a waste of money. wont score. etc etc Hang your heads in shame! Not me. I said he was nowt special, nothing but a squad filler should never start unless we have injuries and suspensions but won't be bad as a substitute. How did i do? Plus he scored a penalty and another where he needed a lucky second chance to put it away. Let's not go overboard ...... just for once.

Does this give Tone a dilemma for Man City now (assuming Pennant isn't fit) - will he go for Walters on the right and Tunny on the bench?

I still don't think he's Premier League standard and Mama is better for that role.............
Decent back up for the right wing though.
Still not convinced by him truth be told.

Funny how the people who were saying not to judge him on one performance and see how he gets on over time are now the same people saying he's great because of one good performance, couldnt make it up.
Today's performance doesnt change the fact that he is a good squad player for us, but if he starts it looks a weak side

The lad has shown that he's always ready to put a shift in. He does have some class, and is always ready to take a man on, which is a sign of spirit. Often, spirit is what takes you over the line when talent is in short supply. Well done, Walters, I love a fighter!
