Looked like he bought the peno to me. Tuncay also 'dived' when he cut in out on the right or am I being harsh?

Definitely looked like a dive to me.
The strange thing however, is that Carson didn't protest but honestly I've watched it a few times and I can't see much (if any) contact at all.

It looked like Carson's hip made contact with Jones feet but I think he left them there to be caught.

Yeh 100% dive, but we deserve a decision to go our way for a change. Tunny's was also a dive I think but the WBA player left his leg out so it was also the defender's fault in that instance.
As I said before we deserve some luck after what was happening earlier in the season and I think TP played it really well by kicking up a fuss about it, so now all the refs don't want to make a bad decision against us, which (as we saw today) can result in the balance tipping the other way and we get some lucky calls.

There was the slightest bit of contact, very harsh though.
Interestingly from the stands we thought the first one was definate, and the second one was harsh, appears now the other way round.

Yeh I thought the 2nd was a peno. Clever play from Deano gotta be our first penos of the season? After conceding about 20.

Good point about maybe the boot being on the other foot now and ref's being influenced in favour of us ... I certainly thought the second penalty was a sound claim, however in the (recent) past, it wouldn't have been a surprise, if we hadn't been awarded either of them.

First one was a definite pen the second one was dubious. Just compare the different reactions by the West Brom players to the two pens. Some people are also talking about a poor first touch by KJ, but if you watch it, he’s surprised to see Carson charging at him and pushes it past him at the last second. Carson can't stop himself and brings KJ down. No complaints from Carson he knows he’s banged to rights and just grateful that the players on the line makes easy for the ref not to send him off.

Maybe 'dived' is too harsh, but it looked like he played for it after he saw Carson coming and his first touch was poor.

On the first penno Carson sets off coming way out to dive at KJ's feet. When the ball is played across to KJ if Carson doesn't come out K will have a clear shot at goal with no Baggies defenders in sight. Carson coming out fast & far forces KJ to try to put the ball wide (it isn't a heavy first touch - it's a desperate first touch to get around Carson). Carson continues down at KJ's feet at which point KJ is going to have to move pretty damn sharpish to get the ball and shoot before the Baggies defenders crowd him out - is it a dive? He went down easily but - we all know that in The Prem if a keeper comes out like that and doesn't cleanly get the ball then it will be a penno. if he stays on his feet - he won't get a penno.
The second pen - looks more an obvious penalty at first sight, Tunny plays a ball into space Whitehead runs on and the defender goes in clumsy inside the box - again - in The Prem they usually get given.
So - maybe harsh on the Baggies but par for the course for Prem penalty decisions & certainly Stoke have been on the receiving end of similar decisions.

Both were correctly awarded for me, contact on Jones for the first and taking Whitehead out with no intent to play the ball for the second.

If You don't go down, You don't get a penalty, it's as simple as that. Wether there was contact, I don't know, I can't see any but Carson didn't protest.
The second one wasn't a penalty either imo.

Agree with the OP. Both Jones & Tuncay conned the ref to get the foul. It puts our moral crusade against diving back in the dustbin for a while. In Tuncay's case there was contact but it was never enough to put him down. If Tuncay wanted the ball he could have broke through that tackle with ease but he chose the cheating option to get the free kick. Kenwyne's was not a penalty. However, from the ref's position it would be difficult to see this. KJ was on his way down before Carson got anywhere near him. KJ then tried to drop his leg to try and make contact with Carson to legitimise the "foul" but he couldn't even do this properly. All in all it was pretty embarrassing in my opinion. I can understand this attitude that we are due a bit of luck but I don't want luck under these circumstances. I hate diving & conning the ref...it is the biggest problem in the modern game for me and I don't want to see Stoke players doing it.

Certainly made a real meal of it but yes Carson didn't protest. Made some kind of contact but Jones went down way too easy. The commentary team must have mentioned it a dozen times. If it had been Nasri etc would have been fine but don't like to see players do that at our club. Second was a pen- stupid challenge from Cox.
Thank God we never got that tool, Carson.

I think both penalty decisions were correct.
There was clearly contact on the first one (not much though), however Kenwyne fell rather dramatically.
The second penalty (which I thought, at the game was slightly dodgey) was correctly given after watching the reply. Daft play by that Cocks guy.

If a player goes over when he could stay on his feet then it is cheating fair and simple. Is a curse of the modern game and would love to see refs cut it out. To be fair if Foy had booked Jones I wouldn't have complained. Pulis took the moral high ground re diving a couple of weeks back and is kind of double standards don't you think if we start it? Winning penalties like I sais is CHEATING. If you're happy with our players playing that way then so be it but me personally, to answer your question- NO I don't want our players doing it.

I've been saying for a while we need should cheat more. If You can't beat them, join them. If You don't go down, the ref won't give You a penalty we've seen that this season with some of the decisions that have gone against us.
I'd love to see the refs cutting it out as I hate it more than anything but those bastards in fact encourage it by only giving penalties when players go down.
